I made chai tea spice!!! :)
The cold holiday season is my favorite season to sip on warm drinks while decoration watching all around the city. I tell ya, Beverly Hills has some of the most absolutely beautiful decorations in town. especially on the wilshire/ rodeo intersection... where I used to work. so lovely. Anyway as I stroll all over town my warm sipping beverage of choice??? a chai tea latte with soy milk. I've always stopped at starbucks or coffee bean to order my holiday cup of warm steamed milk with chai spices and I always wondered what goes into a chai tea... I happened to watch one of my favorite magazine tv shows "Steven and Chris" (If you live in Canada, I am sure you know of this show) and they happened to invite a very savy guest that had a few gift giving ideas for under 28 bucks!! one Idea was to make this chai tea spice mix and give it out as gifts in little jars you can purchase at the dollar store. I was more interested in the tea blend. Determined to finally make my own chai tea spice, I went to the steven and chris website and got the recipe for the chai tea, went spice shopping and finally made my chai tea spice mix!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I bought that coffee grinder a few years ago. I forgot it at my mom's place when I moved out a couple years and she's made use of it grinding roasted dried barley for tea, or black peppercorns. It's great for making dry rubs too!! Anyway, I came back to my moms to use my spice grinder and the aroma was strong and so full of many different flavors combined in one jar. super cute!! I will take a picture of the finished product later. In the meantime, here is a picture I took of the spices I used for my chai tea... look how lovely!
Check out the recipe for Chai tea spice mix!
3/4 cup green cardamom
2 Tblsp black peppercorns
3 Tblsp cloves
3 Tblsp ground ginger
2 Star anise
4 small (3inch) sticks of cinnamon
combine all spices in a bowl, add spice mixture by the spoonful at a time to a spice grinder or a coffee grinder. grind until the mix becomes a powder consistancy grinde in batches!
Like hot chocolate instead?
check out this recipe for peppermint hot chocolate you can also assemble in layers in a mason jar, dress it up, and give as gifts!
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Mix In a Mason jar, place a layer of unsweetened cocoa powder, followed by a layer of granulated sugar, a pinch of salt, a layer of mini chocolate chips, and a layer of mint chips, which you can usually find at your grocery store during the holiday season. Recommend adding marshmallows or crushed candy canes if your grocery store doesn't sell mint chips. You can use a piece of parchment paper as a funnel to pour the ingredients into the jar. Cover the jar with its lid, and then dress it up with a tag and some instructions so that the recipient knows how to make Peppermint Hot Chocolate.

coolest christmas house ever!!!!!!
We have all seen some "all-out" homes when it comes to christmas lights and decorations. 2 days ago my sister took me to see a house she likes to pass by and see. The owners of the home go all out. their entire front yard is completely boarded up and in a matter of days, the boards come down and what is revealed is an entire town of mini christmas decorations and a running train!!! this is absolutely spectacular!! I have to give them credit for having the patiece to put up all those details every single year!! I took a couple pictures but the entire thing was too big for me to capture in one shot. They also set out these benches on the side walk so that people can climb on top of them and see the entire "snow" covered town. Its so beautiful!!

Check out my pine cone turkey!
For Thanksgiving, my sis brought the family some feathers, a glue gun, little eyes, and a bunch of pine cones for us to make turkeys out of. She then took those turkeys and made them part of the decor for her thanksgiving dinner table. I made this one... LOL what do you think?
My thanksgiving was very tiring. I cooked all day and cleaned all night and ended my night in my sister's Jacuzzi LOL it was AWESOME!! LOL How did you all spend your thanksgiving?
The Standard Hotel was fun
Picture above: rooftop pool @The Standard Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles
My very good friend Jesse was depressed because his girlfriend left him so he rented a room at The Standard Hotel in downtown Los Angeles and invited me over to hit the roof top party out there. I went and it was fun. We played ping pong on the rooftop, chilled by the pool, talked to some strangers and took in the sights... very relaxing evening. We took a stroll around Pershing Square and visited the Biltmore Hotel. It was beautiful check out some pictures of our night out.

Halloween was .... O..K... I guess..
Sorry I didnt post for Halloween, I didn't take pictures and that's because there was so much going on that I just didn't have time to do so. This halloween I was Cleopatra. My roommate and I went to the West Hollywood Halloweeen Parade and checked out all the cool costumes. He got drunk of course and I babysat him all night.
I do have this fear of him getting hurt or even killed or jailed. I try to watch out for him when he's drunk cuz I dont want to be the one that has to call his mom in France and say 'your son is dead or in jail" I could NEVER bring myself to make a call like that; that is why for halloween i was the sober one and he was blistered dressed as a runaway bride. ha ha ha ha! he had a wedding dress on that we went shopping for. He also bought a tiara and a "diamond" necklace to compliment his dress. it was hilarious. I tried to go buy him some food so he can sober up a little bit and every time I came back, there was always some guys trying to take him home with them. I had to keep scaring them off. ha ha ha ha ha anyway we didnt take pictures of us but i took this one when i got home and washed all the makeup off. I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! I love my snake bracelet lol my roommate bought me that lol
Check out my lovely ravioli!!
I made goat cheese and lemon ravioli. Thank you Mr Yotam Ottolenghi, for sharing this recipe with me. I did replace the pink peppercorns with pomegranite since it is in season and I couldn't find pink peppercorns. I am looking forward to getting his cookbook titled "Jerusalem" from London next year. YAY I'm excited about that book! I cant wait. lol So what do you guys think of my ravioli?
LAILA (SoLo) MADE IT TO LOS ANGELES!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I am absolutely happy to report that SoLo, our dear fellow founder of SoHo Meets SoLo has finally made it out here to Los Angeles with her family!!! We didn't get to spend too much time together because it was a one week thing with her and her daughter's pageant so I only saw her and her family for a few hours on their last night out here. non the less it was super fun. we didn't take pictures though... only 1 picture that her son took of us.... a candid picture lol. YAY!

super super sick
Happy Monday everybody!!! I've been away from the blog because I caught a really bad flu and I'm still fighting it 2 weeks later. It started with my nose bleeding then it clogged up. I then developed a sore throat then my ear started hurting then the glands around my ears became swollen then I had the runs if you know what I mean. Now I have really bad headaches and dizziness. I can't wait till I'm better my nose became blisterd on the interior and it was full of scabs and puss filled bumps on the outside with scabs. I took pictures when it was much better but again I can't seem to upload them with my phone. I also wanted to share a few pictures of other cool stuff but I can't. This sucks so bad. I need a laptop soon.

Yesterday me and my long time friend went out to have breakfast together. We then went to a sex shop in west Hollywood that she wanted to go to, to buy herself some gadgets... I must admit that it was my first time at a sex shop. I've never been in one before and I felt surprisinglycomfortable in there. I thought I would feel totally awkward but I didn't. Of course I looked around and saw strange looking things I wasn't sure What they were or how they worked but whatever. Eventually I became bored and wanted to leave but my friend couldn't decide what to get finally she made a decision and we went on our way. She explained that I didn't feel strange in there because that was a nice sex shop set ur kinda trendy and cool so that it doesn't feel like ur a pervert LOL. She said there are some really ugly ones out there LOL. Anyway then we went to a nail salon and I tell you I never had my nails done. Manicure or pedicure I had never had. Until yesterday I got my nails done and they turned out super cute!!! Trying to post a pic but again I am limited what I can post using my phone

my strange but fun dream
I had a very strange dream just now. Yes it's about 7:30am and I just had a dream so before I forget it I am going to share it with you. It was a short dream but a cool one. LOL.
I dreamt I was a voice talent for an animated Disney movie LOL. It was kind of like Aladdin type deal except it was a bit more modern and it was nothing like Aladdin. LOL. I played a young princess whose whose passions include animals, travel, cultures, language... My real passions basically. Her life revolves around caring for her animals that she's rescued and has no time for a romantic life... Until she meets a grad student still in his graduation Cap and gown on his way to his palace. Yes he's a prince too. This young man is quirky, has a love for life and has fallen for the young princess at first sight. After dinner under a clear evening and a starry sky out in the palace's back yard enjoying the fire pit he tells his butler who's his trusted friend, about the young girl he's seen. completely delighted he stirs up a plan to see her again and win her heart.
Meanwhile the princess in her own world of animals and passions, has no idea her prince charming is about to knock at her door.
So that's a bit of the story kind it's easier to see it in your dream than. Swing to explain it. LOL this is one of the movies where the animals can talk amongst each other. My childhood friend Rosa was the voice of the lead animal. I think she was a little pig. I was the voice of the princess and guess who was the voice of the prince? Mr Wentworth Miller!!! My dream went through the process of recording the voices and up to the premiere. I was happy because I didn't know Rosa was playing a role in that movie and I haven't seen her for months. Normally. In animated movies, the voice actors don't hot a chance to see each other so I was happy to be walking with a crew around me to the awaiting car to take me to the premiere and being informed I would see my friend!!! I arrived at the premiere and immediately saw my friend and Went on the carpet so I ran over and it was such a happy feeling seeing them both. I felt like we all knew each other from years ago. LOL that was my dream. It ended as we were waking together down the carpet to the movie theatre to see the premiere of our animated movie. LOL ok that was my dream lol

no more laptop for now
The piece of junk Google chrome that my roommate bought me in order to replace my mac book that he broke is now broken as well. I tell you, I can't ever seem to have my own things without people breaking my stuff. It's insane. Anyway since I don't have a laptop anymore or the means to buy one for now, I will be using my phone so I am very limited to what I can post and how I want to post it. This has gotten my mood down. Especially because I had weeks of notes from my medicine book in there. I saved them online but now I can't finish typing them. It sucks. Ok whatever. See you all soon.

This plant will be MINE!!
I totally want this lemon scented geranium plant. It's soooo cute!!
I am a lot like my mother in that I enjoy plants, especially if I can eat them, make them into tea, use them as an ingredient, or just keep them in my home to make my garden or home smell good! Lemon scented geranium plant... such a pretty plant and check out the description... I'm sold!! :)
Scented Geranium 'Queen of Lemon' absolutely holds true to its name. This plant spreads a delightful lemony scent that deters gnats and mosquitoes, keeping them out of your garden. Place this plant in your garden, or in a flower pot or container on your decking and you will not be attacked by gnats or mosquitoes. This plant has a very welcoming appearance

It was super hot today! I refused to leave my apartment because of the heat. LOL
In days when its hot like this I LOVE a glass of ice cold water!! usually I keep a

I like how fresh it tastes along with the coldness of the water. So when I'm thirsty,
I just take out my glass bottle with infused water and pour me a cup... well... I dont have
cups anymore. my roommate broke them. I have 1 glass cup left and a bunch of wine
glasses. LOL so I love an glass of ice cold citrus infused water soooo good!

Dinner was great!!
I also had a small side of French onion soup. and a glass of cold water. everything was good.
Good Morning!! My morning news story!!
Alright everybody!! GOOD MORNING!!!!!!! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Today, I have planned to go visit my Uncle Ray at the hospital where he works as an urgent care doctor. I try to visit and hang out with him as much as I can but really, how much can we chat? not too much because he will have his nurses calling him often but he does have more free time than any other doctor I've seen so I guess its good. Anyway, before I go hang out with my uncle Ray, I wanted to post a story about a company that is looking for an alternative to meat for meat eaters. A plant based meatless "meat" product backed by Bill Gates. All of this is in effort to make meat eaters choose a "meat" that is better for them, and better for the environment. I think it's a great idea. I've had been vegetarian for 10 years and actually i tried lots of meatless products out there but if i looked at the ingredient list, it had a ton of things I couldnt even pronounce. super processed stuff. The ingredient list on Beyon Meat is pretty clean. Its a little pricey for 12 0z of meat (5 dollars and some change ) but it's pretty good. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/the-bill-gates-backed-company-that-s-reinventing-meat-154012207.html
anyway the article is WAY TO LONG for me to post so here is the link to it. Tell me what you think? would you be willing to switch "real" meat for this meatless alternative?

Jaime Foxx Show Theme Song
I don't know if you watched the Jaime Foxx Show back in the 90's or early 2000s but I did and I LOVED IT! I especially loved the 2nd theme song to the show. I wish it were a real song. This video below has manipulated the song to extend the chorus a little more but boy i really do wish it were a real full song. I love the lyrics the song is called "Simple Things" I especially like the flow of the song when it says "my baby girl, that rocks my world" it just flows nice but all in all, very nice lyrics very nice song by Jaime Foxx called "Simple Things" Enjoy! Ok now I am going to sleep for real lol
Hey there how's it flowing?
Welcome to a place that never sleeps.
Where you can settle in directly ?? likes to your mind unwind
You know your about to have a real good time that's all I need oh yeah
That's all I need the simple things (The ... Simple ....Things)
My family that cares for me (ooooooooh)
My baby girl (my baby girl) That rocks my world (They Rock My World)
Just simple things (ooooooooooh yeah) are all I need (all I need)
SIMPLE THINGS ARE ALL I NEED
Just simple things (ooooooooooh yeah) are all I need (all I need)
Goodnight!!

And the studying continues!
old news..
The following are some bits of old news/ interesting articles and my two cents on it; and by bits I literally mean bits. :)
I meant to post these a few weeks back but I didn't so here they are now.
1: Pennsylvania officials under fire for 'Racist and Sexist' texts.
yes 2 school officials were under fire for having texted back and forth to each other racists and sexist text using their district phones. you know, the phone that your company provides you with when you work for them. What was said in the text messages was not revealed however, in my opinion...
Those text were done on district phones, I think this highlights the stupidity of the people working in the education system.
2: Paris Fashion week
This is one of my favorite things to give my opinion on because really, who is gonna wear such terrible looking clothes? I mean can you see yourself wearing something like this?
I meant to post these a few weeks back but I didn't so here they are now.

Is this woman wearing a dog's costume cape around her neck or a bib? oh its a bib to catch all the food she won't be eating.
This here is just plain scary. seriously? how is this fashion? this is plain ridiculous! sometimes I think designers do this to get a laugh out of the public. ha ha ha ha!
Somebody feed this girl!!
I wonder why these girls do this to themselves. I'm sure it's a miserable lifestyle.
3: Tycoon plans $8 billion Chinese Hollywood
Remember a few weeks ago or maybe a couple months ago I blogged about a Chinese billionaire that recreated the city of Paris in China? He basically made an entire replica of Paris in China and now the Chinese city of Paris is deserted because nobody wants to live there. Guess what?
Now this Tycoon is planning on creating a Chinese Hollywood!! you heard right! We all know what happened when a replica town of Paris was built in china... It is now almost completely deserted and lost LOTS of money. It's China, they make rip offs of everything including cities around the world! LOL terrible idea. lol
4: French Ghost Town deserted for 40 years thanks to Charles De Gaulle
The once bustling farming town of Goussainville-Vieux Pays just 12 miles from Paris has been abandoned for forty years after tragedy and modernization forced residents from their homes. In 1973, during the Paris Air Show, a Tupolev TU-144, a clone of the Concorde, crashed into the village, flattening houses and killing eight people. The accident badly shook the village - but their nightmare was not over. A year later the Charles de Gaulle airport opened with its runways just two miles from the village. From then on the constant noise was a plague on the town and a constant remainder of the deadly crash. Residents soon moved away, tired by the noise pollution and living in fear of another plane crash. Now the small town, which survived both World Wars, is home to just a handful of residents. (text above taken from yahoo)
My opinion? Its such a lovely town with lots of potential. clean it up, paint it and repair damages, change windows to sound proof like they are doing in (Inglewood,CA) and the planes the fly above wont even be noticed. as far as pollution.. those fumes are made to rise when exerted into the atmosphere. I'm sure there will be residue but hey the areas surrounding LAX are still in business and boy those planes fly way low. No reason why this one cant thrive. its certainly a cute town.
what is really in your Mcdonalds chicken nuggets?
Recently 3 researchers from Mississippi took on the task to find out just what exactly makes up the all mighty McDonalds chicken nuggets.
They bought one box of chicken nuggets from 2 different McDonald's restaurants in Jackson.
The research team then took 1 nugget from each box, preserved it, dissected it, stained it, and looked at it under a microscope.
Are you ready to know what they found??
Wait, chicken nuggets are made of the white meat of the chicken right? lean protein? Ha ha ha ha! yeah right! this is McDonald's we're talking about here. I wouldn't be surprised if they found snake meat and cockroaches in these things.Well NO. They didnt find snake meat or cockroaches in the nuggets.
Instead what they found was the first nugget was ALMOST 50% chicken meat, and the rest was a mixture of fat, blood vessels, and nerves. Close inspection revealed cells that lined the skin and internal organs of the bird.
The second nugget contained only 40% chicken meat and the rest was fat, cartilage and bone. mmmmmm YUM!!!
Anyway this should be general knowledge by now. I'm sure most people know that McDonald's food is loaded with fat, organ tissue, bone, cartilage and probably other stuff that is NOT actually muscle tissue like the thigh meat or breast. so there you go!
My two cents on this? just avoid fast food... period. I am used to eating more... natural food since I did work in high end restaurants for many years so I've eaten really amazing food. I cant see myself eating fast food much less feed it to my kids if i had any. gross!

The beast is OUT!!
Hi everybody!! this here, is the giant basketball size tumor that was growing inside my niece; on the side of her liver. The neck looking thing at the top, was attached to her liver. The rest of the tumor (the giant blob you see) was just hanging on the side. It is AMAZING what these surgeons did. They are THE BEST OF THE BEST!! even THEY surprised at how well the surgery went. The initial estimated surgery time was 4-5 hours and actually it only took them ABOUT 2 hrs and 20 minutes!! Man these docs are straight BOSS status!! LOVE IT and will be forever thankful!!

SHE"S OK!!
Today was the day of my niece's surgery. The operation started an hour late however, it did go pretty fast. The surgeon said the tumor was the size of a basketball and they said it was all along the outside of the liver and thought they might have to remove a kidney. After the surgery was done, the surgeon said everything went VERY WELL. My niece is now tumor free and is slowly recovering in the ICU. Thanks soooo much everybody for your prayers!! what a relief!!

Having trouble studying...
I've been put on Ritalin. My attention has been all over the place for a while and finally I don't feel the urge to shake my leg when i'm sitting talking with a friend or fiddling with something all the time or having half thoughts cuz i've moved on to the next thought. I'm taking ritalin and it seems to be working... SLOWLY. lol I still have trouble focusing on studying but I'm really trying lol Learning medicines and laws isn't as fun as I thought... maybe it will get interesting further down the line. lol
A few FREE OR CHEAP things to do in L.A.
SoLo (Laila) Will be out here in L.A. next month and so I thought well maybe there might be some blog readers that might take a trip out here as well. With these tough economic times, not too many people have the money to splurge on entertainment so I've come up with a small list of ideas you can do to have fun do fun things while your're out here for FREE. Public transportation is not too expensive. $1 - $1.50 per ride per person or have a day pass for $5 and ride back n forth unlimited times on certain lines. Alright. here are a few free activities to do while you are visiting la la land!
1: Walk on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Like most tourists, you might be dying to walk on these stars so head on over to Hollywood and take a picture with the star of your favorite celebs!
2: Take a hike up Griffith Park.
Griffith Park is EXCELLENT for hiking and when you get to the top, you have an AMAZING view of the entire city of Los Angeles.
3: Go to The Price is Right!!
This is fun and something that even non tourists do. Make sure before you leave your state or country that you visit The Price is Right website to print out your ticket. It's completely free but be sure that you arrive HOURS before the scheduled arrival time to make sure you get a seat inside the studio. otherwise you have waited in the long line for nothing. My friend and I showed up at 5 or 6 in the morning and we were the 2nd people to arrive and got pretty good seats. so arrive super early to start forming the line at the entrance gate.
Even if you are not chosen to go on stage, it is a lot of fun just being there in person.
4: Visit Union Station
This piece of Los Angeles history is Amazing. It is the main railway in Los Angeles and is also the largest passenger railway in the entire Western United States. You can tell by the architecture, the furniture and everything else. You absolutely MUST visit this place. The interior lobby is awesome.
5: Visit the ORIGINAL farmers market
This is one of my favorite places to go, eat, and have a drink at the bar.
The market started when a dozen nearby farmers would park their trucks on a field to sell their fresh produce to local residents. The cost to rent the space was fifty cents per day.

In 1870, when they moved west from Illinois, Arthur Fremont (A.F.) Gilmore and his partner bought two sizable farms, one of which was the 256-acre (1.04 km) dairy farm at this corner. Gilmore gained control when the partnership dissolved later.
Gilmore Oil Company replaced the dairy farm when oil was discovered under the land during drilling for water in 1905, which became the Salt Lake Oil Field. Earl Bell (E.B. Gilmore, son of A.F. Gilmore, took over the family business. The younger Gilmore started midget car racing and brought professional football to Los Angeles. He built Gilmore Field for the Hollywood Stars baseball team, which was owned by Bing Crosby, Barbara Stanwyck, and Cecil B. DeMille.
Please Pray for My NIECE!
There is some news I have been keeping from you all for 2 months now.
I didn't feel ready to say anything but now I feel I can share this very personal matter with all of you my blog readers.
2 months ago, my 8 year old niece Carisma was diagnosed with an uncommon type of cancer on her liver. she has gone through 2 rounds of chemo therapy and apparently it doesn't seem to be working. My niece seems to be doing MUCH better. She seems to be eating normally again, even hopping and running around, and playing with her cousins and friends. the first round of chemo really made her feel awful. She was bed ridden and wasn't eating much at all. The second round her hair started falling off and now she has her hair falling off in clumps so she wears a hat most of the time. she seems to be doing great but the doctors say that the chemo hasn't worked at all even if her entire abdomen is not as huge as it had first been. The doctors are fearing that the tumor will spread and attack her kidneys. They said the tumor has grown and so they need to schedule her for surgery October 1st.
The entire family has been praying for her non stop and hoping this surgery will be a success and that the tumor will be removed without popping and spreading.
I want to ask all my blog readers a huge favor and that is to please pray for my niece to get better and for this surgery to be a success. No matter what religion or beliefs you have. ALL PRAYERS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. PLEASE PLEASE send my niece Carisma your prayers.
Thank you sooo much!

Happy Monday! and last day of September!!
Last day of September today and for some of you in other countries it's already the 1st of October! What's good about October? for those of you who like to enjoy some good beer and sausages; OCTOBERFEST!!! For other people, HALLOWEEN!!
I love Halloween more than October fest but that's only because I try to not drink to much. Halloween is super fun though. I love going to see the Halloween parade in West Hollywood. It's always a HUGE even and lots of fun. I still dress up for Halloween. This year I have no idea what my costume is going to be so I need to get started with some Ideas.
Fall is here and I am looking forward to going to pumpkin patches. yes, I am still a kid at heart LOL! I also cant wait for Christmas. I love shopping for little Christmas trees and decorations LOL I don't need a huge tree in my apartment. The pine smell fills my home up and give it that holiday feel.
Some fun fall activities you can do are:
1: Apple picking
2: Pressing pretty leaves in between books
3: Arts and crafts
4: Pumpkin carving
5: Baking fall season favorites
6: Cooking savory foods
7: Hosting dinner parties or cocktail parties
8: Taking a road-trip to see the changing colors of the treas
9: Taking up knitting and knit yourself/friends/family some cute fall/winter beanies or scarfs
10: START A BLOG!! :)
What are some fun activities you enjoy doing during this fall/autumn season?

Answer to brain exercise.
Answer: both boxes hit the floor at the same time because a box containing 4 kilos of bricks weighs the same as a box that contains 4 kilos of feathers. LOL
Time for some brain exercises!!
2 identical boxes are dropped off a 5 story building at the exact same time. both boxes weigh 4 kilos each. One box contains bricks and the second box contains feathers. which box hits the ground first?
Stay tuned for the answer later today! :)

It's not a good idea...
It's not a good idea to eat tacos and walk your dog at the same time... especially when you remember it hasn't pooped yet. LOL I guess I won't be doing this again. lol.

Super HOT TODAY!
My goodness!! first day of fall and it's hotter than ever!!! GEEEBUS!! I woke up this morning after a night of bar hopping with my roommate so I was in NO MOOD FOR HEAT and it caught me by surprise. My entire apartment is super hot and I dont know how to use the air conditioner in my apartment LOL. Anyway, the day is almost over and I have not gotten up. I have been chillin in my closet taking a recuperation nap because it's much cooler in my closet and since my closet is pretty big my roommate and I have been laying down in there with the doors closed keeping cool. LOL My hangover is now gone I think I will now get up and take a shower and have dinner with a friend. I tell ya, last night is the LAST night I will drink like that again. lol Yes the pictures are super blurry. I know. LOL
New chefs vs Old chefs
Frustrates me that the new young, hip, trendy, tv chefs have replaced GREAT shows and AMAZING CHEFS like cooking with Jaques Pepin, New Scandinavian cooking with Andreas Viestad, Ciao Italia with Mary Ann Esposito, Lidia Bastianich, Rick Bayless, Ming Tsai, crazy Martin Yan, Tommy Tang, hell I'll even include Joanne Weir and Rick Browne etc.. All these AMAZING CHEFS that cooked and would give you the history on the food they were cooking, they added so much cultural richness through the history of their ingredients and traditions. So much history in one dish and they made sure you knew it as well. AMAZING talent that has unfortunately now been replaced by a bunch of trendy, hip, amateurs like Fabio, Ludo Lefebvre, the Voltaggios even though they're hot, all the other "known" chefs. where's the culture and history in your food? there's none. the only story to their food is trend... must be more trendy and innovative. PLEASE!! SIT DOWN AND LET THE REAL CHEFS SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE!!
Old Chefs win in my opinion.. HANDS DOWN!! LOL

YAY and time for comfort foods like chicken pot pie (which I plan to make soon), the Japanese noodle dish I blogged about below (which I plan to eat that soon), home made chili, one pot meals, apple pie/danish/tart, warm beignette! mmmmmm!! hot chocolate, chai tea, spices like cinnamon, cardamon, dry juniper berries, ground fennel seeds, cumin and so forth. All the good berries! aaaahhhh! I am LOVING IT! It's super hot today though... :(
