I've been thinking...

since we posted the new poll about watching Prison Break season 4, I was wondering... how many of you guys out there are true Prison Break fans? At the risk of having bricks thrown at my head, I've gotta tell you that Wentworth is not the reason I started watching the show! Prison Break is simply "my kinda'" TV show! I enjoy the action & unbelievable situations the guys are put into then have to get out of! I will say that I probably wouldn't watch if Wentworth was no longer a part of the show. I'm not saying that he's the reason I watch but... well, I'll explain that down there!

Lots of people have expressed their dislike with season 3, but I must say that I enjoyed every single episode! I didn't care for the short season, but what can you do, right? While the first season was by far the best, IMO, it had to be in order to keep people around! I've watched a couple of FOX shows that I actually liked & they got canned after so many episodes, so it's great that the writers were able to give Prison Break the edge it needed to last. Personally I hope it lasts like 24 has - another of my favorite shows. I mean, in all honesty, I don't know how they can keep it going for 7+ seasons & call it Prison Break LOL but here is are a couple of quotes from Comic-Con:

More Details from Prison Break at Comic-Con this past weekend

The crowd's reaction when Went didn't appear!

First, the FOX/Prison Break representative went out and put down the place cards for the panel. There were the names you wanted to see: Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies and, most important of all, Wentworth Miller. It was coming true, Wentworth fans felt, they were finally going to see him in person. Then, they showed the first ten or so minutes of the fourth season premiere. The crowd was lathered up and rarin' to go. Finally, the moment of truth; the cast and creative team arrived on stage. There was executive producer Matt Olmstead, there was Sarah Wayne and Dominic and... that was it. Wentworth Miller was nowhere to be seen, and the crowd lost its breath, a great many fans standing up and leaving the room the second that Olmstead said that Wentworth got stuck in LA shooting some pick-ups. Hmm, does that seem dubious or what?

SoHo & SoLo Lingo 7/27

Here are two phrases that I've used while blogging today! I wouldn't tell you about something I wouldn't do or say myself! I try to be such a good example! Yeah, anyway LOL!

Up first is "poke fun" or "poking fun"! That just means you are clowning on someone or making jokes about that person for whatever reason! "Use it in a sentence", you say? Ok, here you go:

"I don't know why people "poke fun" at Wentworth's choice of clothes! I love his adorkable style! No one can pull of corduroys, a white t-shirt, a beanie, New Balance & aviators in the summer like my boo!" - OK so it was more than a sentence but you get my point LOL!

Up next is "garbly goop"! ROTFL! I had to laugh at myself because it's just funny as hell to use that phrase as an adult, but I'm a funny kid/adult/girl/person - anyway.......... Garbly goop means something, usually some literary material, is a jumbled mess and makes no sense. It can also be used to describe something or someone that is a hot mess or in total disarray (BTW - hot mess can definitely be used interchangeably with garbly goop, especially when describing someone's appearance LOL)!

"I don't know the heck he is trying to say in that comment she wrote, but it just looks like "garbly" goop to me!

OR

She should not have put that outfit on; she looks a "hot mess"!

Movie Night! Bring on the popcorn! 7/27

If you're looking for a little comedy, we've got just the movie for you. SoHo Meets SoLo presents you with the 1991 Italian comical movie "Johnny Stechino!" In English it translates to Johnny Toothpick. This is a fun film that will hit the spot. So sit back, relax, grab a frap if you will and enjoy this week's pick!! By the way, for those of you who don't speak Italian, this movie DOES have English subtitles. What's this movie about?? Well...

Good hearted but not very wordly-wise, Dante is happy driving the school bus for a group of mentally handicapped children, while feeling he is somehow missing out on life and love. So he is very excited when after nearly being knocked down by her car he meets Maria, who seems immediately enamoured of him. He is soon invited to her sumptuous Palermo villa, little suspecting that this is part of a plot. He bears an amazing likeness to Maria's stool-pigeon gangster husband and it would be convenient for them if the mobster, in the shape of Dante, was seen to be dead and buried.

Dante (Roberto Benigni) is the ultimate loser. Nothing seems to work for him - especially in love. Suddenly, a beautiful and rich woman (Nicoletta Braschi) gives him some hope. However, the deal involves Dante going to Sicily where the woman's husband (Roberto Benigni) is an infamous gangster known as Johnny the Toothpick ("stecchino" in Italian). Johnny has denounced some of the local mafiosi to the police so their friends want him dead. So, why not get Dante killed instead.

"We must become the change we want to see in the world."

-Mahatma Gandi

This week's quote is special in so many ways because there are so many people who complain about how things are in the world yet none of them do anything about it. People complain about the president & other leaders but they don't vote! They complain about the things in their neighborhood do but they don't try to reach out to the kids to help them out.

Instead of complaining today, try being the change you want to see. Why not offer a hand to that kid who seems to be troubled? Why not get out and vote this November instead of complaining about who our next president is? If you do nothing, then you should have nothing to say! Remember, what you do may not be noticed by everyone, but it could make a difference to the one person who does notice!

Fashion SoHo & SoLo Style 7/27

Fashion this week is less than SoHo & SoLo style but the cute pencil skirts these Hollywood ladies are sporting are pretty darn cute! Top them off with a sexy blouse or some other sassy top & you've got a winning combination.

The Hills star Audrina Patridge looks amazing in this 3.1 Phillip Lim high-waisted pencil skirt ($320) & Michael Stars long black tank top ($30)! The added Rachel Leigh bow hinged cuff ($65) & Enzo Angiolini Maylie shoes ($95) create a very sexy, sophisticated look!

Here's our adaptation of Audrina's look with a much better price tag, might I add!

Yellow pencil skirt, $78
Black tank top, $4.80
Black & Gold bangles, $4.80
Black peep toe pumps, $9.99
Total price tag $97.59 - How's that for a bargain LOL!

Now this is the Lindsay Lohan I love to see! She's wearing a classic & timeless style that is a big winner for her! See below for another version of this winning ensemble!

Brown Poplin Button Front Shirt, $15
Ann Taylor Poplin Skirt, $58
Black Round-Toe Pumps, $15.99

Office Workouts: Trunk Rotations

Continuing with our summer workout program, we bring you "Trunk Rotations" this week. This is a really simple exercise that you can do at work & it only takes a few minutes!

What you need to do is stand with your feet flat and about 3 feet apart, back straight. Hold a 3-5 pound weight (a small medicine ball or big book would work as well - or anything you have in your office).

With your back straight, twist at the waist from one side to the other slowly. DO NOT twist your hips! This movement should resemble a baseball player batting the ball, except you are not swinging your arms out! Keep your arms straight out in front of you so when you twist your body, your arms are still in front moving with you!

It's very simple to do & 30 rotations 3 times a day will really make a difference. You won't only look better, but you'll feel better. This is especially for ladies & gents who have desk jobs & sit for long periods! You definitely want to get moving because while sitting is good, too much sitting causes poor circulation & even back pain - ask a girl who knows! So besides getting up, stretching & moving around, try this exercise & watch the results! To see this workout in action & for more office workout videos by personal trainer Bob Harper, go to http://officeworkout.msn.com/default.aspx?source=email&section=home&contentType=video&contentId=13.

Feeling Good! 7/27

In this week's episode of "Feeling Good" (that was fun to say LOL), we got some funny crap that you probably thought had no meaning! Well, remember people, everything has an origin! So without further ado, here is:

Word Knowledge

Ever heard someone say "It's all Greek to me"? I know I've said it quite a bit when someone said something to me that I didn't understand or if I tried to read something that simply looked like garbly goop (yeah, you'll find that explanation in our Lingo section LOL)! Ever wonder where that expression came from? Well, here you go!

"It's All Greek To Me"
The earliest known reference goes back to William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Casca, who is among the group conspiring to kill Caesar, recounts to Brutus and Cassius how Caesar had previously rejected the crown of emperor. When asked if Cicero, an influential senator, had said anything (Cicerco did, speaking in Greek to prevent passersby from understanding him), Casca replies: "Those that understood him smiled at one another and shook their heads; but for mine own part, it was Greek to me."

Here's another one that I know I've used: "Keep your eyes peeled!" You know you've said it when telling someone to be on the look out for something in particular! Here's where it all started:

"Keep Your Eyes Peeled"
Referring to certain fruits or vegetables, such as oranges, bananas and potatoes, that are better or more useful without their skin, this phrase can be traced back to a newspaper in 1833. The Political Examiner of Shelbyville, Kentucky gave this advice: "Young man! Keep your eye peeled when you are after women."

What's in that... Sandwiches & Burgers: 6 Grams of Fat or Less Subs, Turkey Breast on Wheat Bread

  • Protein - 18.5 grams
  • Sugar/Carbs - 7 grams/46 g total

Mmm... Did you make that?

One thing that warms my soul is a great slice of sweet potato pie! If you've never had a slice then you've probably never been to South Louisiana or some other southern state! It's one of our favorite desserts & is absolutely wonderful after a nice bowl of gumbo (sorry - gumbo recipe will have to be another day LOL!) So grab you some Cool Whip & enjoy a slice of sweet potato pie with me!

What you'll need:

  • 1 large sweet potato (about a pound)
  • 1/2 cup of flour - optional
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 cups of sugar (or less depending on how sweet you like it)
  • 1 Teaspoon of pure vanilla extract (I'll have to hunt you down if you use imitation LOL)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter (leave out to get room temp BUT not too soft)
  • 2 Pillsbury deep dish 9" pie shells (one would work, but I'll explain the reason for two below)

Instructions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
2. Place sweet potato in large pot of water. Be sure to cover the potato completely. Boil for at least an hour or until "fork" tender.
3. Be sure to leave the pie shells out so they are room temperature.
4. When the potato is done boiling, just peel away the skins. I like to pick out the knots & little strings but you don't have to. They won't kill you!
5. Smash the potato with a potato smasher or a fork.
6. Combine potato & butter. Mix until butter is incorporated well. If you don't have a mixer of some kind, you can do this step by hand.
7. Add the 2 eggs & milk. Again, mix well but don't over do it!
8. Here's where you add 1 cup of sugar and the cinnamon & nutmeg!
9. Go ahead & taste test now! If it's not as sweet as you'd like, add another 1/4 cup of sugar until it tastes the way you want it to.
10. Here is the optional part with the flour! If the mixture looks rather "soupy" to you, add 1/4 cup of flour. Mix it up & if it's still not the consistency that you'd like, add the other 1/4 cup. You do NOT want this thick now. It will thicken as it bakes & will continue to thicken while it's cooling!
11. Get the cookie sheet I told you about & place one of the pie shells on it; pour in the mixture. You may not be able to get it all in there, but no worries! Just put the rest of it up. It will keep in the frig for a couple of days. Besides after you make this one time, you'll want to make more so just go to the store, grab more ingredients & make another batch using a smaller potato so you can add it to what you already have in the frig LOL!
12. Grab a knife & cut right down the middle of the other pie shell. What you want to do is cut long pieces of the other shell so you can place on top of the pie! It doesn't have to be perfect pieces just as long as you something up there. Now this part is very optional. If you don't plan to do this, then pour half of the pie mixture into one shell & the other half in the other & you got yourself two pies!
13. Place the pie (or pies) in the oven & bake at 350 degrees for about an hour to an hour & 15 minutes. Be sure to check the pie after one hour. You'll want to stick a knife right in the center. If the knife comes out clean (not wet) then you can remove the pie(s) and let it cool. If it's not, let it bake for 5 minutes at a time until the knife does come out clean!

Now I enjoy my pie as is, with no toppings but some people do enjoy it with a dollop of whipped cream on top! If you do, knock yourself out! I promise that you will most definitely enjoy this slice of southern goodness! Until next week, big hugs & lots kisses!

News from Comic-Con (Preview news & No-Wentworth)

Here's a scoop from Nikki (Prison Break Buff) who is live at Comic-Con as we speak!

From film at Comic Con

Michael starts off narrating a letter, saying what has happened with the Company, being bribed to get Whistler out of Sona, and that they killed his only love. Now he is going to take down the Company.

Cut to Mahone who is driving Susan B. and Whistler in a towncar. Susan B. tells Whistler that if he pulls it off, he can come back up to her room later, and “no” won’t be in her vocabulary. Michael is spying from a window with binoculars. Mahone let’s Whistler and Susan B. out of the car. Michael puts down the binoculars…

Whistler and Susan B. walk into a party. “In and Out,” she says. They separate.

Michael carries something a box in through the back.

Whistler enters a room.

Michael changes out of his grubby clothes and into his suit. He pulls a gun out of the box and puts in his pocket.

“Good to see you again,” Jason says to Whistler. “Who are you buying it for?” he asks. “Jason, you know I can’t get into that,” Whistler says. “Do you want to sell the card to me or not,” he asks. He hands off some money.

Michael strolls through the party and grabs a champagne glass.

Jason hands Whistler the card. “The Company will do anything to get it back,” he says. Whistler turns and shoots several of the guys before walking out. Michael sees him and follows him through the party.

Whistler exits the room and goes into another one. He pushes a button in the ceiling panel and pulls out some sort of box and starts downloading from the card. Michael walks in, “Where is she?” he asks Whistler. Whistler tells him that he doesn’t understand. They go back and forth before Susan B. walks in.

“We need to leave,” she says. Michael pulls the gun on her. “Gretchen look at me. This is for Sara,” he says. “I didn’t kill Sara,” Susan B. says. She tells him that she escaped. Michael says that Lincoln saw the head. Susan B. tells him that Lincoln saw a cadaver. He bought into it.

Michael asks where she is. Susan B. says that she’ll tell him once they get outside.“Where is she?” Michael yells with his gun at Susan B. Whistler points his gun at Michael and tells him to give him the gun. Michael hands the gun over. “Let’s go,” Susan B. says. They rush out the door.

Whistler drops the card off for someone, wrapped in a newspaper.

“Sara,” Michael says.

NO WENTWORTH!!!!!!!!!!

Prison Break Comic Con Panel: NO WENTWORTH!!"

Everyone’s upset, and Dominic seems a little hurt by it!!

After the sneak peek clip everyone came on stage.

Sarah thanks the audience for their fan mail and says she’s gotten a ton of origami swans.

Meanwhile Dominic takes pictures of the audience (see pics of Sarah & Dom posted on 727/08)!!

Sarah says that Sara is coming back a very different person. She says that she sees it in friends of hers that are coming back from the war, and it’s an interesting time to relate to this…

Matt Olmstead adds to this, saying that they couldn’t give Sarah a role during Season 3 because she’d just be tied to a chair. “There are no physical barriers, but there are barriers,” he says in regards to their characters. We are told that this season Michael will be affected by stress in a way nobody can predict.

Sarah talks about her “I think in the beginning of the series Sara was an advocate on behalf of men on death role. She was profoundly influenced by Gandi. And I think now there’s a very small part of her that thinks that it’s all out the window. That it’s easier to be motivated by rage and hatred and revenge. And if it were not for Michael she would not bother looking beyond that.” She says Sara needs to look inside herself. And where are the characters going? To the ultimate extreme and they all know they can die. She says a small part of Sara wants to give into that, and throw herself into the bullets - rather than look at herself in the mirror at the end of the day and wonder who she is.

Sucre will be back, along with Mahone and Bellick - which we already knew!!

A fan asks what they do behind the scenes, do they have fun, and will we ever see bloopers?!? “We’ve been doing this for four years,” Dominic says. “And it comes to the place where you’ve got to crack jokes!” He says he’s serious about what he does, but he also realizes the absurdity about it. “We’ve all got a really good vibe,” he says. Dominic also gives a nod to the writers. “The writers on this show allow the actors to be spontaneous and give us permission to play with their words. That is unique and gives us a good deal of comfort.” Sarah agrees. “I think there’s also points when you’ve been working for 16 hours and sprinting and running, and you hit a certain point where it’s all funny.

And then you just need to go home!”

Prison Break spoiler

Episode 4.07 Spoiler - Self Preservation

The action in this episode is set to take place at a casino in Las Vegas!! Seems one of the “Scylla” cardholders is a major gambler, so the team descends on Vegas to download the info on his card. The first spoiler has to do with Prison Break Episode 4.01 and how much time will elapse during that episode. Episode one takes place over several days. Maybe about a week. It is not all flashbacks. There are a few flashbacks to seasons 1 and 2 with Michael and Sara. It seems that Chris Vance won’t have a very important role, especially since he’s joining a different series! Mahone's family will be mentioned again and we just might see them again as well. Bellick will join forces with Michael, Lincon,Sucre, and Sarah. They will be forced to drag T-bag along because he holds a very important element of the plan to bring down the company. Prison Break season 4 premieres September 1st at 9pm on Fox.

The Adventures of SoHo & SoLo 7/20

Saturday was a very interesting and a kinda creepy day for SoHo... Tell us SoHo, what happened this Saturday? Well, this past Saturday I was scheduled to cater a celebrity anniversary but little did I know this took place at the Scientology church in Hollywood! You see, when I was notified that I was gonna be catering, it was understood that I'd cater at the Manor Hotel. Guess what?? The Manor Hotel is NOW the Celebrity Scientology church! Well, I didn't know that LOL!! I guess that's why, when I used yahoo maps to locate it, there was no exact result. I tried calling 411 to get directions but the 411 operator said there was no listing for such hotel. I am VERY familiar with Hollywood because I went to culinary school there and I worked there for a couple of years. Also, I live about 10 minutes from Hollywood, so naturally I was familiar with the area. So it was then that I decided to rely on my memory to get myself there on time. Making my way to Franklin Street, I was looking for the "hotel" and as I scanned the buildings to look for the street numbers, I passed a small park where I saw two bums doing it on a bench. Ewww gross!!!!!! The man sat upright on the bench while the female sat on him with her legs spread wide open. IT WAS SOOOOOO SICK!!!!!!!!!!!! It was amazing to me that ppl actually do this right in front of traffic. YUCK!!!!
Anyway, I get to the stupid "hotel" and was greeted by police officers. They checked to make sure my name was on the list and I made my way to the kitchen. I spoke to the person doing the event and they tell me the anniversary was not that Saturday!!! I told them that I was told it was. I WAS PISSED so they offered me a tour of the church, which I gladly accepted because I thought it would be interesting to see what kind of crap I'd see. It started with a series of short videos about scientology. Then they had me hold these two metal rods connected to a machine that measured my negative and positive thoughts. I thought it was pretty lame. They told me about some classes they offer and that they are sooo great. They tried to recruit me and asked me for my cell phone number, address, credit card... CREDIT CARD NUMBER PEOPLE - HOW DO YOU ASK SOMEONE FOR THEIR CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!! I didnt give them anything but my cell phone number and a million reasons why I was NOT gonna join: "I came here to work, not to sign up for classes". They tried to sell me a bunch of books. You know now that I think about it, I should have told them that I thought they were some crazy asses LOL! They showed me a bunch of videos and one ended by saying some crap like "If you walk out of this room and don't ever mention scientology again, that's fine but its stupid! If you don't do scientology, you might as well put a gun to your head and blow your brains out!" I was like WTF??? It was scary!! Somehow these scientology jerks felt that I didn't want to read their books for fear of being called a scientologist and because the media has potrayed them in such negative light. I was like "No its not that, because the media potrays EVERYBODY in negative light. Media says if you're a scientologist, then you're in a cult and you're crazy! If you're Catholic, then you're a sex offender! And if your Muslim, then you're a terrorist! So everybody gets bashed on - not just scientologists. So therefore I do not see you as victims." They didn't have an answer for me. They ended up by ALMOST completely giving up on me and I got to talking with them about birthday cakes and birthdays LOL. I turn every conversation into a food conversation! They backed off but I did let them know I was not interested and they still hoped I would change my mind. LOL they are SERIOUSLY INSANE!!!!

I will be back to cater the event but believe me when I say I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANYMORE SCIENTOLOGY TALK. Those people are freakin CRAZY!!! I was really rude in a nice way but those people were really creepy. They gave me a survey when everything over & at the end of the survey there was a question: What was the best part of the tour? I wrote "when it was over" LOL!!!!! The video's ending was kinda strange it showed two doors of a scientology church opening to this blinding bright white light and the word "HELLO" appears. I thought that was the creepiest SH#T I've ever seen!! So that was my day in short LOL - trust me though, it was really long! I was there for like two or three hours. I was glad to come home and blog about it and share it with all of you. With that being said.. HAVE AN EXCELLENT WEEK!!!!

SoHo & SoLo Lingo 7/20

This week's word is.... well, it's not really a word; it's more like an expression! This expression is "I wanna take you down"! You can substitute "you" with "him" or "her". How do you use this expression? Well, it's simple! It basically means you want to have your way with that person. For example, if we are talking about sexalicious Wentworth Miller, you'd say "Damn!!! That man is soooo fine! I want to take him down!!" So there you have it folks!! Use it wisely! LOL!!

You are so lying if you tell me you don't want to take this man down! ha ha ha ha ha!!!

"So a man thinks in his heart, so he is." Basically that means if you think it so much, you'll start believing it in your heart & then it becomes a part of you, forming a habit, so to speak. Why not practice NOT being lazy? Why not pinch yourself everytime you bite your nails or do something else that shows how conterproductive your bad habit really is! If you do that, you'll begin to realize that this bad habit can be kicked!

If you aren't one of those bad habit people, then have you tried to strive for excellence? It will not fall into your lap! It will not look for you; you have to look for it! How do you look for excellence, you ask? Well, it's simple. Practice! Make seeking and reaching for excellence a part of your daily routine! Do everything you do to the best of your ability! You'll find that you make yourself proud and sooner or later you'll be more successful than you ever thought possible. Don't be fooled in thinking success comes as a monetary value! Excellence is a reward far more fulfilling than any money can ever be!

MMM... did you make that? 7/20

Got a sweet tooth?? This week on "Mmm... did you make that?", we bring to you CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!!!!!!! This classic treat is a favorite of people everywhere!! This week we're keeping it classic by not adding all the extra stuff like M&Ms or peanut butter chips and so forth. Of course you're free to add some extra stuff if you like! Make sure you have a gallon of ice cold milk (or in SoHo's case, soy milk) in your refrigerator because these cookies are looking to marry!!! Here's the recipe for this week! ENJOY!!!!
  • 8 ounces (unsalted) butter, soften by letting it sit at room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups bittersweet chocolate chips

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper

  2. In a mixer bowl fitted with a paddle attachment, cream butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium-high speed until light and fluffy (at least 3-4) minutes

  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each

  4. Add vanilla and stir

  5. Toss dry ingredients together in a bowl and add to buttter/egg mixture, stirring only until incorporated

  6. Add chocolate chunks (and nuts or you're little extras if you are gonna use them)

  7. Chill dough if too warm to handle

  8. To bake, form dough into rough balls the size of large walnuts and place on the parchment-lined pan at lease 2 inches apart.

  9. Bake in a 325 degree oven (no fan) for 8-10 minutes

  10. Baked cookies should be lightly browned and still a little soft in the center

  11. Remove from the oven

  12. Remove cookies carefully with a metal spatula and place on a cooling rack. The carry over heat will finish cooking the cookies.

SoHo has not taken pictures of her chocolate cookies so she went in search of a nice picture. As she continued her search, she came across this picture of milk and cookies with a cookie dunker - very interesting...

Hollywood This Week 7/20

This week in Hollywood, A-Rod's stripper friend has the slumber party talk and Sanjaya (American Idol Season 6) fancies himself a diva? Hmmm what's all this about??

Alex Rodriguez's stripper friend talks about a late night/early morning slumber party!!! Apparently sometime in December 2006, A-Rod was spotted entering an exclusive hotel in Florida with two women who have since been dragged into the media circus that is his divorce! Joslyn Morse, the stripper A-Rod was busted with, and fitness model Alicia Marie, shared a hotel suite in Florida. A-Rod visited their room until the early morning hours, according to the NY Post. Marie denied a romantic affair, but when asked by the Post about a late-night slumber party with Rodriguez and Joslyn, she said, "I really can't comment on that."

One reason why lots of people have quit watching American Idol is because of the debacle that was Sanjaya! The guy can't sing a lick YET because of screaming 13 year old girls (no offense ladies - we've been 13 before so I understand) he was able to stick around! Needless to say, he couldn't carry a note but he did have great hair... most nights LOL!

TMZ.com did a story about him & apparently the organizers of the Plymouth Rox Summer Fest went out their way to contact Sanjaya to join their show. Yeah, but that hasn't worked out so well because they are having a hard time getting Sanjaya to return their calls! Why would he NOT want to return calls to ANYONE who wants him on their show LOL? Guess he's gotten to be too much of a "diva" to return the calls of anyone not Hollywood affiliated LOL! Or perhaps he's just too busy finding the next big thing to do with his hair!

Feeling Good! 7/20

This week on Health Hut we bring you the information on the health benefits of wonderful GREEN TEA!!!! That's right! To all you green tea junkies out there; brace yourselves because we are throwing you some interesting green tea health benefits!! Not a fan of green tea?? Well after you read this bit of information, we hope you'll change your mind..With that said, let the good stuff begin!!!

The Chinese have been using green tea for at least 4,ooo years. They've used it to cure everything from a headache to depression. Today, scientific research in both Asia and the West is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea. For example, in 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological study indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly 60%. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ration of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol. To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful:

  • cancer
  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • high cholesterol levels
  • cardiovascular disease
  • infection
  • impaired immune function

Are there any down sides to drinking green tea?? Well, insomnia is the only known down side to drinking green tea! Why? Because it has caffeine - DUH!!!!

Hot Man of the Week 7/13

Every week, SoHo meets SoLo selects a celebrity "Hot Man Of The Week" in which you can feast your eyes on. This section will include photos, fashion, and fun facts about the gorgeous Hollywood hunk. Not enough you say? Don't pass up the opportunity to share your thoughts and opinion on our man of the week. This section if free for all discussions relating to the steamy weekly pick. Don't forget to come by and check out the drop dead gorgeous men that will make your summer SIZZLE!!! ENJOY!!!!!

Our hot guy this week is the ever so talented Justin Timberlake! JT (as I prefer to call him) is cute, fly & always seems to have this sexy look on his face, after all he did bring "Sexy Back"! Justin's style is kinda all over the place! You might see him in a T-shirt & slacks, shirt/tie & sneakers or just looking hot in a suit. Either way, you gotta love the guy! His dance moves are sleek, his voice is full of soul and he's just plain WOW! Don't miss Justin as he hosts the 2008 ESPY Awards on ESPN this coming Sunday, July 20 at 8 p.m. CST!
Justin Randall Timberlake was born in Memphis, TN on January 31, 1981. At the young age of 11, he appeared on Star Search! He was also a member of Mickey Mouse Club along with Christina Aguillera, Josh Gosling & Britney Spears, who coincidentally became his girlfriend in later years! JT also dated Cameron Diaz and is currently with Jessica Biel! He was only 14 when he joined pop singing group "*NSYNC", which had quite a few hits back in the day (He went solo in 2002)! BTW, if you haven't seen his FutureSex/Love Show - I believe it was in NYC & aired on HBO - go find it from somewhere! It's 2 hours of great entertainment!

Betcha' didn't know that Justin & his best friend (and personal assistant) Trace Ayala created a clothing line called "William Rast" which is named after their grandfathers or that he also has a foundation that operates similarly to the Save the Music Foundation. Oh, another thing you might not know is that Justin was a member of the National Beta Club (suddenly, I don't feel so much like a dork - I was a member too LOL)! Justin has been in several movies - "Alpha Dog", which was very good, & "Shrek the Third" are two of my favorites. The newest movie under his belt is "The Love Guru"; check it out b/c it's in theatre's now!
