Grapes are in season from the end of the summer in Europe and the US. Perfect for sweet and savoury autumn recipes, they're also packed with energy to give you a real boost!

Grapes are amazingly versatile and go really well in savoury dishes (with salad, fish, cheese, liver and game). On their own, they make a great snack and are ideal to nibble at the end of a meal.

Nutritional Information on grapes!!

Grapes are a fantastic source of energy: 72kcal per100g at 81% water. They’re also rich in minerals and micro-minerals such as potassium (average 245mg per 100g) and phosphorus.

Grapes contain large quantities of calcium and magnesium, which fight fatigue and cramp, and a good amount of zinc, one of the key minerals involved in the function of cells in the body.

They contain very little sodium, which is good for those who have to watch their salt intake.

Grapes contain a little Vitamin C (7mg per 100g), lots of B vitamins (especially B1 and B5 which fight cramp, and B3 which is especially good for the skin and prolonging that summer tan!)

"Feels Like Home"

Early posts & Hurricane Gustav

This model is accurate as of 11:30pm CST Sunday 8/31/08.

In light of the hurricane that is coming my way, I will be out of pocket, I'm sure, for several days - that's why there are a crap load of posts going on right now =) Hurricane Gustav, as of now, is a category 3 hurricane (thanks for your prayers b/c it has diminished in intensity - keep praying) with sustained winds reaching 115 mph (gusts up to 140 mph). It is about 200 miles away from Baton Rouge, LA, moving at about 16 mph; this puts it reaching just SE of our area around 7pm CST Monday afternoon (there's another tropical storm, Hanna, right on Gustav's heels). For those of you who have never lived through a storm like this, just know that IT'S MAJOR!!! A year & one day ago today, Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans, wreaking havoc on millions of people, including my grandparents & other relatives. They are all safe & were able to return their homes, but many were not so fortunate. Another hurricane of this magnitude, Hurricane Andrew, hit our area back in 1992 (I believe). I was kinda' young, but I do remember it being devestating, ripping the porch off my parents home (we were blessed in that the damage was not severe). Now that I'm in my own home, I'm taking precautions to stay safe. Please keep me, my family & everyone who has & will be affected by this storm, in your prayers! Enjoy the early posts - all things Wentworth & Prison Break this week!!!

OH YEAH, WANNA' KNOW ONE REALLY CRAPPY THING ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION???? THE DAMN HURRICANE PREMIERES THE SAME DAY AS PRISON BREAK!!!!!!!!! WHAT IS UP WITH THAT??? THIS WHOLE TIME, I'VE BEEN WAITING & NOW, I MAY HAVE TO WAIT LONGER UNTIL WHENEVER WE GET POWER NEXT WEEK & PRAY FOX PUTS THE EPIS UP ASAP SO I CAN ONLINE!!!!! SoLo weather sucks, I swear!!!!!

SoLo =)

Adventures of SoHo & SoLo 8/31 - part 3

And we're back - joining me after supper. SoHo thinks it's hilarious when I say supper - I'm a country girl... what can I say LOL? After supper, it began raining again. Not hard & not lasting very long. Winds were a little stronger but still not too bad. There's no water under my carport; seems the sandbags are working really well so far. I've gotten ready for bed & watched "I Love Money" (the show I mentioned earlier) and I'm sitting here typing. I wish it wasn't so dark outside because I'd take pics for ya'll, but since there's not very much to show right now, it's ok. If I can take pics tomorrow, I will so ya'll will have a firsthand look at what hurricane weather looks like. We're supposed have hurricane sustained winds by 7pm tomorrow night, which, unfortunately means... NO PRISON BREAK FOR ME =( I swear this thing could not have timed it's landfall better!!! It's like it planned this just so I couldn't watch Prison Break. The worst part about this is I can't even record it because with no power & the satellite NOT working, there's no way I can even have it saved to watch whenever I want... Oh, whoa is me... but I digress!

I'm gonna' finish posting just in case I awake to no power, then I'm off to bed. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics & surf the net tomorrow. More importantly, I hope I get to watch Prison Break when it airs tomorrow... Don't forget to keep us all down here in your prayers... Part 4 will hopefully be posted in the morning or early afternoon! Until domani, have a good evening!! Hope to post manana!

Adventures of SoHo & SoLo 8/31 - part 2

Well, here we are... part 2 of this hurricane situation for me! We left off with me returning home from my 6 hour excursion for grocery & ice! When I got back home, I unloaded all that stuff I had bought & decided I'd better get some dinner on. I get started then remembered I got all those sandbags outside that I hadn't put where they need to be. So while dinner is going, I go outside to put the sandbags at my front door, back door & along the fence. I start putting those damn bags down & let me tell - THEY AIN'T LIGHT!!!!!!!!!! I had a little help but it wasn't enough. I actually broke a sweat & I do NOT sweat!!!!!!!!! I was so mad & you wanna' know why???? It's because I need more sandbags!!!!!!!!!! I GO BACK to the "barn" to get more bags!

The guys at the barn load my truck (well, not really my truck - I borrowed a friend's truck) and I head back home. I get some help unloading the truck & putting most of the sandbags down at my doors & fence. I'm so frustrated with the damn sand in my shoes & on my skin, PLUS I'm starting to hear thunder & see dark clouds, that I RUSH inside to shower!!!!! I take a nice, long shower & get out to rain. It didn't last very long & wasn't hard at all, but it was enough for their to be a pool of water in my yard. I go outside to see if the sandbags are doing their job - NOT!!! I had them positioned wrong so after my wonderful shower, I gotta' go back out in this yucky weather to move the stupid bags around. While moving them, sand is seeping out of the bags - wet sand!!! They are so heavy and because I'm tired of lifting them up, I'm pretty much tossing them which is a horrible idea because dirty water is splashing on my Victoria Secret smelling legs & feet!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Interruption - I'm watching "I Love Money" on VH1 & they show a Prison Break promo spot................ why the hell must it be rubbed in my face... we all know I probably won't get a chance to see it when it airs because I'll either have no power or my DishNetwork will be OUT due to bad weather!!! THIS SUCKS TO HELL, I SWEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back to my previously scheduled program LOL!!] I storm (no pun intended) back in the house, wash my legs & feet, dish up a nice plate of food & plop in my comfy office chair!

THAT'S IT FOR THIS SEGMENT!!! BE BACK WITH MORE SHORTLY!!!

The Adventures of SoHo & SoLo 8/31 - part 1

It's 9:23pm & it's rained twice already. The wind isn't too bad, but it's blowing off and on. It's been a long day! I'm tired & I'm ready for this hurricane to come & GO!!!!!! SoHo & I have not had an adventure in about a month & along comes this dang storm & I need "parts" to tell you about this adventure LOL! Well, here goes "Part One"!

I woke up about 7:20am, got ready for church & left around 8:45. We got outta' church around 10ish. I went "hurricane preparation shopping" this past Wednesday, but I had to go to the pharmacy at Wal-Mart, but it doesn't open until noon so I "lollygagged" around until that time. Before I get to the next part, I should preface with this: I watched the weather report before leaving this morning & they said Wal-Mart would be closing at 6pm. Back to what I was saying - I went to Wal-Mart just after noon thinking I was gonna' go to the pharmacy & pick up a few other last minute items that I didn't get earlier in the week... ask me how smoothly that went? How smoothly, you say? It didn't go AT ALL!!!!!!!!!

I pulled up in the parking lot & there was about as many cars as usual. People were coming out of the store; a few employees were gathered outside. There were even tons of police cars, so I was thinking someone must have tried to steal something or there might have been a disturbance. NOPE!!!! The dang store was closing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm like "what the hell"!!!!!!!! I couldn't go to the pharmacy & I couldn't get any snacks. I left there to go to the little grocery store down the street from Wal-Mart. OMG!!!!!! The parking lot was packed from one end of the shopping center to the other!!!!!!!!!! I had to circle around a few times to find somewhere to park then I had to almost bribe people to get a darn shopping cart!! I waited nearly 5 minutes for this lady to leisurely stop chit-chatting with someone she knew, walk to her car then get her cart that some little girl tried to swipe from me! So anyway, I go on with my shopping only to get to the check-out line & be parked behind two people with enough grocery to last a month!!! At any rate, I waited my turn, checked out & went on my quest for ice!

I knew it would be hectic to find ice this weekend (not to mention the ice maker in my freezer would not make enough ice to last several days), so I rearranged everything in my freezer & I bought two big bags of ice this past Friday. I wanted to be sure I had enough, so I decided I'd better take my ice chest so I could fill it up. There's a little ice maker machine thingie outside the grocery store I'd just come from so I checked that one first - EMPTY!!!! There's another one a couple of miles in the other direction so I went there - EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I leave there & decide to check the Sonic; they not only sell bagged ice, but it's soft & GOOD LOL!!! So, I go back several miles back toward my house (in the Wal-Mart parking lot where I'd initially gone for grocery). I pull up at the speaker-thingie to ask them for ice - NONE!!!!!!!! I sit in my car wondering where the hell I'd go next. Someone told me to check the parish maintenance facility & I'm like WHY WOULD THE "barn" (that's what we call it 'round these parts LOL) give out ice??? They are giving sandbags to people (I got those Friday)! Would they be giving ice, too? So at any rate, I head on over there. It's not far from my house but about 3 miles from where I was but I need the ice so... I get there & they don't have ice... DUDE!!! Can you imagine how pissed I am now? I'm wasting gas traveling all over town in this stupid traffic for damn ice!!! GRRRRR!!! Anyway, I remembered McDonald's sells bagged ice so I start out in the other direction... AGAIN!!! Before making it there, I ran into another someone I knew who said he'd gotten ice from the local ice house; it's before McDonald's so I figured I'd detour that way then go to Mickey D's if necessary. Let's hope this someone knows what he's talking about!

I pull up at the ice house & there's a crap load of people there already. I walk up & ask if I could get ice & they said no because no one was there to give out the ice. So, I'm thinking to myself: "If they aren't here, why the hell are ya'll standing here having a damn tea party (or perhaps it was more like an ambush LOL) if you can't get ice!!! It's hot as hell & ya'll are just standing around like it's a meeting!" Anyway, they say "someone" told them they'd be back by 2pm, but it's now 2:37 (yes, I'd been out ALL THAT TIME - from about 10am to 2:30pm)! So I left & decided to check one other place before I would settle for what I had at home. BTW - while sitting there deciding whether or not I should wait it out, I called Mickey D's & the girl tells me they have NO ICE!!!!!!!!!

I go about a mile further to a local truck stop/casino/restaurant/gas station/convenience store (yep, seriously) and there is a man standing out there with a lock, key & a girl giving out ice!!! I screamed so loud; I was so happy!!!!!!!!!! I walk up & here the man telling another man that he would need to go in & pay for they ice, come out, show his receipt then he could get ice. I immediately went inside, paid for 3 bags & got my ice. As I load the ice chest, I think about how our power goes out at the first sign of wind 50 miles away & with this hurricane bringing winds of up to 140 mph, I decided to go back & pay for 2 more bags of ice! I load up my ice chest, hop in my ride & head back home - 4 miles in the other direction!!! Phew - finally!

I get home & realize I forgot a couple of things - YAY me, right!!! I know... but when you're rushing & exhausting before you even begin, you tend to forget things! Instead of going to the other store that was packed earlier, I decide to go to a little grocery store closer to my house. MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!! Someone damn near hit me as I turned into the parking lot! You see, the parking lot is as big as my yard LOL and it was jam packed!!!!!!!!!!! I managed to get a spot fairly quickly but I'm sure I pissed the lady off who wanted it as badly as I did LOL! I get in the store & immediately notice there is no bread - thank GOD I already bought some the other day. But even worse than NO bread was the fact that people were bumper to bumper with shopping carts... it took me an hour to get a few things because it was mass confusion trying to maneuver the cart without hitting someone. It was like the only language spoken inside this colony of hurricane-threat tortured aliens was "Excuse me!" I waited in this line for about 3o minutes, because again, the people in front of me looked like they were planning for a wedding party of 300 with the amount of grocery they had. The next thing I know the cashier says to the bag-boy, "They threatened to shut us down earlier if we didn't clear all these people out." I looked around to see who she was talking about & there's police at the door - inside & outside - and inside the store walking around. By the time I checked out, the policeman inside had cleared the aisle between the front wall & the registers & was directing "traffic"! As I approached the automatic door to leave, it was disabled & the policeman outside had to shove it open to let me out! What was even more surprising was that outside the door, were even MORE police officers AND a line of customers waiting to get in the store!!!!!!!!! It was crazy! Evidently, the store was overcrowded & the fire marshall had been there to report the problem so when the crowd didn't die down, they called the called the cops to clear everyone out! I'm so happy I went when I did because I would NOT have stayed out there in all that damn heat, then go inside the store/circus & fight with the masses just to grab a few things!

FINALLY - I GET HOME ABOUT 4pm!!!!!!!!!!! STAY TUNED FOR PART 2... (my apologies for any typos... I don't feel like checking & I don't feel like reading what I typed to check myself LOL!

Prison Break gets a mere 5

TV Guide's Matt Roush gives a little review on Prison Break Season 4! While I, & millions of other viewers have been devoted to the show since day 1 & are looking forward to it's return, not everyone is as enthused about it! I don't agree with his mere score of 5, but hey, I can't ask for devotion from everyone on the planet - although it should be a requisite of owning a set LOL!! Anyhoo, here's what he had to say:

TV’s most ludicrously overextended caper series reinvents itself again in Season 4. It’s now “The Dirty Dozen” (give or take a few bodies), as our fugitive heroes are reunited in the United States and recruited by feds for a secret near-suicide mission to break in—for a change—to high-security enclaves and bring down the corrupt “Company.” The frantically violent mayhem, including a tasteless cannibalism gag, is paced swiftly enough that you can almost ignore the silliness of a show that isn’t above resurrecting characters long thought dead. Still, it beats last year’s miserable detour in a Panamanian sweatbox.

Wentworth & SWC Interview w/BuddyTV (Part 2)

IGN TV interviews the cast of Prison Break

IGN TV recently interviewed a few of the gang from Prison Break! Here's what everyone had to say!

IGN TV: Your show really changes up every season, which I imagine is nice as an actor.
Wentworth Miller: Yeah, I think that's one of our strengths. It's one of the things we're noted for, is that we're not afraid to take what we know works and throw it out and start from scratch every season. And the fourth season's really no different, in that it's not really about breaking out anymore, it's about breaking in. IGN: The dynamic between the brothers keeps changing too.Miller: Yeah, it's a really interesting balance between Michael and Lincoln – kind of which one is the older brother and when? I feel like in the first season, even though Michael is the younger brother, he was the one with the plan; he was the one kind of giving orders. And then in the second season, as Michael dealt with the sort of emotional and psychological fallout of that escape and all the lives that were damaged or ruined, so that Lincoln could go free, Lincoln was the one who was literally behind the wheel and being there for his brother.

IGN: The dynamic between the brothers keeps changing too.
Miller: Yeah, it's a really interesting balance between Michael and Lincoln – kind of which one is the older brother and when? I feel like in the first season, even though Michael is the younger brother, he was the one with the plan; he was the one kind of giving orders. And then in the second season, as Michael dealt with the sort of emotional and psychological fallout of that escape and all the lives that were damaged or ruined, so that Lincoln could go free, Lincoln was the one who was literally behind the wheel and being there for his brother.

IGN: Last season ended with your character having some major motivation.
Miller: [Laughs] Yeah, yeah. On this mission to avenge Sara's death! ...Now wait a minute! IGN: [Laughs] Now wait a second…! Can you talk at all about how Season 4 picks up?Miller: The new season picks up a month after the third season left off, so we wrap up a lot of different storylines and loose ends really quickly and then hit the ground running. So Sara comes back – that seems to be everywhere, so it's not a spoiler I guess. And she's back in the first episode, and we have this A-Team assembled – Michael, Lincoln, Sara and a bunch of old friends and foes, and they decide to stay and fight – to take on The Company and the conspiracy, as opposed to running for the rest of our lives. They see that that's no longer a viable option. So in a way they go to work for the government, to take on this [threat].

IGN: Jodi's character was the target you were after, but it turns out she didn't do what you thought she did. How does he perceive her now?
Miller: That's an interesting shift. I think at this point, with Agent Kellerman and Gretchen, they've all been kind of deadly and menacing in their own right, but they've been puppets. Someone else has been pulling the strings all along. I think this is the season where Michael and Lincoln decide it's time to go after the puppet master.

Wentworth talks to TeenTelevision.com

TeenTelevision: With Season Four shooting in L.A., are you happy to be there?
Wentworth: I am. We're working on the Fox lot, and we're also taking as much advantage as we can of Los Angeles, in terms of the very schizophrenic terrain. You've got the ocean, you've got downtown, you've got the mountains, you've got the desert. Our environment and our backdrop, has always been critical to the show's look and success. Our number one priority is to keep that going in the 4th season.

TeenTelevision: With the move back to L.A., do you notice the paparazzi more?
Wentworth: For the first episode, yes. And then, I guess they got bored, which is fine with us.

TeenTelevision: Do you ever have women follow you down the street in L.A.?
Wentworth: Very recently, I had a fan who was waiting for me at this particular coffee shop that I go to pretty frequently. She had a queen size pillow for me because she heard somewhere that I like naps and she wanted me to have a comfortable place to rest my head. And, she had a big ring of skeleton keys, which she said was so that, if Michael gets himself into another jam, he'd have a way out. And then, she finished off with a pair of handcuffs. So, cut to me walking down the street with a pillow, skeleton keys and handcuffs, and then cue the paparazzi. Those pictures are actually out there somewhere. [I love that he still mentions the gifts we gave him!!!]

TeenTelevision: Hilarious! Did that freak you out?
Wentworth: It was certainly a surprise, but it was very sweet. Obviously, someone put a lot of time, thought and preparation into that kind of gift. To know that someone's making that kind of room for you in their lives is priceless. [Ahhhhh... he did say it was sweet, too! "Priceless"... I just love this guy!]

*FUGITIVE BROTHERS STILL SEEKING JUSTICE
*MICHAEL & LINCOLN ARE BACK FOR SEASON 4

The great escape continues as "Prison Break" enters its fourth season where two brothers remain determined to bring down the government conspiracy responsible for framing them both for crimes they did not commit.

After engineering a daring escape from the hellish, Panamanian prison Sona, brothers Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) are determined to seek justice against The Company, the shadowy group responsible for destroying their lives and killing the woman Michael loves, Dr. Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies).

Michael's quest for vengeance leads him to Los Angeles, where his world is turned upside down when Company operative Gretchen/Susan B. Anthony (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) informs him that Sara is still alive. Michael and Lincoln avow to find Sara and take down The Company by stealing their "Black Book." With the help of Homeland Security agent Don Self (Michael Rapaport), they assemble a group of allies and familiar faces to accomplish their task: Mahone (William Fichtner), Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), Bellick (Wade Williams) and computer expert Roland Glenn (James Hiroyuki Liao).

Unfortunately for the brothers, they must also evade company assassin Wyatt (Cress Williams) and find an on-the-loose T-Bag (Robert Knepper), who unknowingly possesses a vital clue to help them pull off their most difficult challenge yet.

Prison Break airs Mondays at 8pm CST on FOX - 2 hour premiere Labor Day Sept. 1 @ 7pm CST

Sneak Peak of Prison Break Premiere Night

By the end of Monday night, Michael and Lincoln are back in the United States, working for a government agent who is secretly investigating the Company. “Bellick and Sucre and Mahone join their team, all of them slaving like the Dirty Dozen in hopes of having their prison sentences eliminated. T-Bag is still South of Border, trying to make his way home with a suitcase full of money. At least two characters take bullets.” Oh, and of course Sara is back!!

And that’s just in the first hour!! The second hour is more straightforward with the crew working to track down a computer memory card code-named Scylla that contains all The Company’s secrets. Oh, and T-Bag does something “so vile, so gruesome, that you can’t help but giggle.

Don’t worry - it’s not ALL action. Supposedly there’s a couple of hilarious Bellick moments on Monday night. One of which “is the perfect delivery of a very short line, ‘We’re screwed,'"

FOX Fall Season Preview Clip - Michael "gets some" LOL

*Updated with shorter, straight to the point clip w/out the unrelated to PB stuff*

This is a great clip from the All Star Party at the Pier last month. Wentworth mentions to Spike Feresten that his character "finally gets some after 60 episodes" since Dr. Sara has returned from the dead - MWAAAAAAAAAAH (that's my evil mad scientist laugh - did you get that LOL)! Anyhoo, Wentworth seems really playful & loose; it's quite refreshing to see! Oh, yeah, there's a MiSa spoiler in there so DO NOT watch if you wanna' wait until the show to see the reunion - trust me... this spoiler is a HUGE tease LOL! Enjoy the clip!

Hot Man of the Week 8/24

Our hot man this week is a long time crush of mine! He is arguably the greatest basketball player on the court today & since Michael Jordan. He was the youngest player to ever score 10,000 & the youngest to score 20,000 points when he hit the 20th of 39 points in a Laker win (95-90) over the New York Knicks. He scored 81 points as the Lakers beat Toronto Raptors 122-104 (second highest points in a single NBA game in the history of the league). This amazing guy hit 12 three-pointers in a single game (most three-pointers ever made). At the time he entered the league in 1996, he was the youngest player ever drafted [Lower Merion High School]. He's made 10 All-Star appearances, made the All-NBA 1st team 6 times, is the current league MVP & two-time All Star MVP, has 3 NBA championship titles (won consecutively) and is now representing our country in the Olympics! By now you should know who I'm talking about, but if you don't, he is the one & ONLY Kobe Bryant!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KOBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SoHo & SoLo Lingo 8/24

This week I'd like to introduce you to a special place. Yeah, that's right, my little "lingo" lesson actually refers to my happy place! It's called...

"Wenter Wonderland"

Wenter Wonderland is a great place to chill & relax.

I'm usually there with a Grande sized vanilla bean or mocha frappuccino and a good DVD - probably Prison Break (as if you didn't know that). I might even be there with my laptop containing some Went related material! I don't read a lot but Wenter Wonderland is wentastic place to read whenever I'm in the mood!

Although, this is my special, happy place that is exclusively for me & the love of my life, I'm willing to share this wenterrific place!

There are stipulations & I am only willing to share if these strict conditions are met:

1. Went will NEVER be there if I'm not!
2. If Went shows up while you're there, you HAVE TO LEAVE - do NOT make eye contact or utter a sound!
3. If I show up, you can stay until Went shows up!
4. You can NOT be there on any given Monday from August to May between 7pm & 10pm CST!
5. Last but not least, what goes on in Wenter Wonderland, stays in Wenter Wonderland!

Any voilation of the above conditions will result in something extremely illegal happening to you! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!

Are you inspired? 8/24

This next quote really moved me because it DOES hold truth in it. It is basically saying to be kind to people with words because you may never see them again. It moved me... and believe me, I (SoHo) am NOT easily moved. ENJOY and have an EXCELLENT WEEK!!!

Never part without loving words to think of during your absence. It may be that you will not meet again in this life.

Now Reuben is in critical condition, and Ocean is determined to strike back at the man who nearly murdered his mentor. Bank may have taken down one of the original Ocean's Eleven, but his efforts only managed to unite the remaining ten closer than ever before. Winter is just around the corner and lets face it, sometimes people don't really work out during the winter. We'd rather be inside our cozy home sipping on some hot coffee, chocolate, or Glühwein!! So this week, SoLo and SoHo bring you some tips to keep you staying active, even during cold weather.

Winter Exercise Tips

Just because it is cold outside doesn't make it open season for an excuse not to exercise. There are multiple exercise options one can choose to participate in regardless of what the outdoor thermometer reads. Depending on your location and likes, you can choose to workout inside or outside.

All that is required for Winter-time workouts is some planning and employing all safety precautions. If you prefer to workout outside, keep the following tips in mind.

SoLo's Cre-Jun Gumbo

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned gumbo & promised a recipe soon! Well, soon is today LOL! Gumbo is one of those traditional South Louisiana recipes that you just can't get anywhere else! I know you can find recipes all over the place but if it doesn't come from someone whose lived here all their life, it ain't right (sorry to the rest of Louisiana, the other49 states & beyond)! Also, if anyone tries to give you a recipe with tomato sauce in it, PLEASE RUN AWAY AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN!! And gumbo is NOT just for cold weather, either! No ma'am (or sir)! I've cooked it twice this summer & my mom is trying to get me cook some for her birthday on September 3!

Now before we get to the recipe, I need to give you a little history lesson (far from boring, I promise)! There are two different types of gumbo: Cajun (chicken & sausage) and Creole (seafood). Cajun people are the folks who live in what we call "Acadiana" (not necessarily just that parish). Lafayette, LA is considered to be the largest Cajun city! Creole people are primarily in & around New Orleans, LA. In the Creole part of the state, seafood was virtully unlimited because of their access to the Spillway! On the other hand, in Cajun-land, their primary resource was things like chicken & sausage, thus the difference in the gumbo ingredients! Cool right? Yeah I know! BUT what's even cooler is yours truly has adopted both methods of cooking a delicious dish by combining them! The end result - "Cre-Jun" - is magnifico!!!!!!!

Anyway, on to the recipe. I'm not gonna say mine is the best in the world, but until I eat some that is better, I'll claim the crown LOL! You gotta' understand: I am VERY picky about food & before I learned how to cook this dish, I would not eat it because it can very easily be cooked the wrong way! "What's the wrong way", you ask? I have no idea because mine always comes out perfect LOL (modest devil, aren't I)!! So if you follow this recipe to the letter, I promise you will NOT go wrong! Enjoy my favorite South Louisiana dish!

More spoilers

Here are a few more spoilers from "The Man" himself. Enjoy!! (highlight below to view spoilers)

The Man and SecretAgentMan have spilled some more spoilers regarding Michael and the Season 4 story line.

Michael:

  • We will learn about Michael’s special abilities at the same time that we learn more about his mother.
  • In Episode 4.10 Michael gets some devastating news about his health.

Season 4:
There are several different story lines to Season 4. It’s unclear how they will all be resolved. The Man says that “some will be resolved along the way and others will be solved at the end…and of course if there ends up being another season…there would have to be questions that still need answering….so ultimately it kind of depends on how the season goes.

Michael... Still Married??

This was an interesting and excellent question that was asked to Prion Break writer, Nick Santora about Michael trying to get together with Sara. But, wait... wasn't he still married to the beautiful Nikka? Did they ever get a divorce? So technically, wouldn't Michael be cheating on Nikka if he DOES end up with Sara without divorcing her first? Anyway, check out this tidbit and see Nick Santora's answer.

I have been pondering Michael and Sara’s relationship for a long time and could never find the answer until I wrote to Nick Santora on myspace…. I asked him if Michael and his wife ever got their marriage annulled or gone through a divorce or were they still married?????

Nick’s answer?
hi, so glad you are excited — yup, he’s still legally married!

So there you have it folks... Michael WILL be cheating on Nikka - the little devil LOL! I guess that's another one of those things about the show you gotta love (or hate, depending on how you look at it)!

Hey everybody!! We bring you new spoilers from Michael Rapport himself (via "The Man")!! Check them out!

  • Michael and Lincoln have their ups and downs this season, but ultimately they are still brothers.
  • Michael will be shocked to learn that Sara is alive, he might not want to believe it at first. But eventually he will track her down and the two of them will still be kind of surprised to see each other.
  • As for the paper rose that LJ gave back to Michael - Michael either shows it to Sarah or gives it back to her.
  • Pam Mahone ends up in a little danger this season.
  • T-Bag does what he needs to, to survive. If it means playing nice a little bit, then he will. He will be more like the old T-Bag than he was in Season 3.

SoHo & SoLo Lingo 8/17

This week's word is "brilliant". Now I know what you're thinking... "SoLo, that is not something that you made up. Everyone knows what 'brilliant' means!" Well, let me assure you that this ain't what you think!

This weekend I had the unwanted opportunity to tell someone just how "brilliant" they are! There's this know-it-all person I know & love, but who shall remain nameless. This person can't be told a thing & can't learn anything from anyone. This person made a very stupid, costly & embarrassing decision last week but rather than take responsibility, this person blamed everyone for what happened - everyone except the person who's fault it actually was! So I said that this person is "brilliant", sarcastically of course, because this was the most stupid thing I'd ever seen!

You can use brilliant anytime someone you know does something amazingly stupid and ignorant beyond belief! So go ahead, tell someone you know how "brilliant" they are LOL!

Movie Night!! Bring on the popcorn! 8/17

I laughed from the time it came on to the minute it went off! So, in honor of the King of Comedy, we bring you Guess Who for our "Movie Night" pick of the week!

GUESS WHO

Determined to break his daughter’s engagement, Percy Jones (Bernie Mac) does everything he can to make Simon feel “apart” of the family, from running his credit report to locking him in the basement at night. But when Percy gleefully exposes Simon’s most embarrassing secret, it leads to an outrageous series of comic complications that only goes to prove that with a dad like Percy Jones, father doesn’t always know best.

Are you inspired? 8/17

This week's inspirational quote is a simple one that has actually inspired me all my life. So many times people complain about things that have happened in their lives as if no one else in the world goes through crap except them. Whining will get you nowhere! If there is an obstacle you've been faced with, do what you can to make the best out of a bad situation! Don't give up or have a pity party! If you seem to always run into problems or trials in your life, keep pressing forward because as long as you keep going, something good is bound to happen - REMEMBER... it can't get worse!

If someone has hurt you or done something wrong to you, it's hard to live with... TRUST ME! I KNOW! Whatever they did/said/etc. is out of your control. You can't change that but what you can change is how you react. You can take matters into your hands and do the right thing or you can whine about it. If you whine about it, the end result is on you and you can no longer blame the other person! If you turn that bad ordeal around and do something positive, then that end result is also on you & believe me, you'll be way more happy with yourself than if you just "wimped out"! My quote for the week...

"DEAL WITH IT! I GOT TO!"
