I was on msn today reading news and I came across an article about young entrepreneurs who started their businesses in their very early teens (one started at only 9 years old!)and turned them into million dollar businesses. some are now in their EARLY 29's and are making 6 figures. yeah just off ideas that they had one day. It sure is inspirational and makes me wanna try my hand at an online business since now I have all the time in the world to do so... but what??.... hmmmm I'll think of an idea but for now, you guys gotta check this out. I mean the creativity and business mindsets of these young adults is amazing!! read their stories here... Most of these nine entrepreneurs had launched businesses by the tender age of 16 (and one before he broke double digits). Some identified problems and created companies to solve them; others turned their hobbies into moneymaking ventures. Some teamed up with friends, siblings and mentors; others plowed ahead on their own.

Their common threads: singular focus, preternatural financial savvy and the optimism and confidence to wrest financing from seasoned investors. Here's how they did it.
Continued: A new vision When 21-year-old university student Jamie Murray Wells attempted to buy a pair of prescription glasses in 2004, he had a vision for a new type of business. Nonplussed by the glasses' $300 price tag, Wells decided to leave school and funnel his $2,000 student loan into what would become Glasses Direct, an online retailer based in London.
* On Bing: Ideas for new businesses
In the first year, the company's revenue topped $2 million. Today the company pulls in $5 million a year in sales and employs 70 people, and it has raked in $34 million in venture funding. (That should tide Wells over until he turns his first profit.)
Continued: Building from the basement up In 1996, when Michael Furdyk was 16, he started MyDesktop.com, an online computer magazine, in the basement of his parents' home in suburban Toronto. His site was filled with tips and advice that Furdyk had gleaned in online chat rooms, where he came across fellow teenager Michael Hayman.

Hayman, an Australian, moved to Toronto to help build the business. Running lean, the pair bartered for website storage and office rent. Soon, MyDesktop.com was bringing in $60,000 a month in ad revenue from blue-chip clients such as IBM and Microsoft. (Microsoft is the publisher of MSN Money.)
* On Bing: Ideas for new businesses
In 1999, Furdyk, Hayman and a third partner sold it for more than $1 million to Internet.com, which absorbed MyDesktop into its site.
Continued: The benefits of being jammed up At age 14 in 2002, Fraser Doherty started making jams in his parents' kitchen in Edinburgh, Scotland. By age 16, Doherty left school to work on his jams full time, starting SuperJam.
* Video: Turn a hobby into a business (part 2)
SuperJam's revenue hit $1.2 million in 2009. Doherty remains the company's only full-time employee, and his debt-free stake is worth an estimated $1 million to $2 million.

Doherty asserts that his supply chain and operations can safely scale to meet heavier demand. "We're sticking with what works," he says.
Continued: From video games to job postings Ephren Taylor began his first business at age 12, after trekking to a local Borders bookstore in Overland Park, Kan., to read "How to Make a Video Game in 21 Days" by Andre LaMothe.
A few months later, Taylor coded his first game. He went on to sell about 30 copies for $10 a pop. At 13, Taylor started designing websites under the banner Flame Software. Taylor quickly upped his $200-per-site charge when he realized competitors were charging thousands for the same service.
"When I got a $3,800 check (from an online retailer of vitamins and legal supplements), my parents thought I must be selling drugs," he recalls.
* Video: A working vacation for kids while Mom and Dad relax
Taylor crossed into seven-figure territory at 16 when he teamed up with friend Michael Stahl to build GoFerretGo.com, a job-posting website for high school and college students. Soon the site had attracted 30,000 visitors. Again, Taylor sold himself short, charging a paltry $38 per job posting, until he realized Sprint, Citigroup, Pizza Hut and other companies were willing to pay nearly 100 times that amount to find young talent.
* On Bing: Small-business pitfalls
The company dissolved in the 2001 tech bust, but at its height was valued at $3.5 million. Today Taylor is the chief executive of City Capital, an asset management company in Franklin, Tenn.
Continued: Parents' party launches entrepreneur Cameron Johnson launched his first business, Cheers and Tears, in 1994 at age 9. Using Photoshop in his Virginia home, Johnson began making greeting cards for his parents' holiday party and soon received orders from their friends and colleagues as well.
Johnson used money he'd earned to buy Ty Beanie Babies, then resold them on eBay and on his Cheers and Tears website, making $50,000. At 13, Johnson started My EZ Mail, a service that forwards e-mails to a particular account without revealing the recipient's personal information. Within two years, My EZ Mail was generating up to $3,000 a month in advertising revenue.
* On Bing: How to start your own business
In 1997, Johnson joined forces with two other teen entrepreneurs to create online advertising company Surfingprizes.com, which provided scrolling advertisements across the top of users' Web browsers. People who downloaded the software received 20 cents an hour for the inconvenience of having ads splayed across their computer screens. Referrers would nab 10% of a new person's hourly revenue. Johnson partnered with the likes of DoubleClick, L90 and Advertising.com, which collected 30% of any ad revenue sold, leaving the rest to Johnson and company.
"I was 15 years old and receiving checks between $300,000 and $400,000 per month," Johnson says. In 2001, he sold portions of the company and closed the remainder of it.
Another Johnson brainchild, CertificateSwap.com, allowed people to buy and sell unwanted gift certificates online. Although gift certificates routinely had changed hands on eBay, the auctioneer charged a healthy fee -- "up to 13% of the cards' value," says Johnson. "We took only 7.5%."
Johnson sold CertificateSwap.com in 2004, when he was just 19, for an undisclosed "six-figure" amount.
Continued: Sign my yearbook? In 2005, Catherine Cook, 15, and her brother Dave, 17, were flipping through their high school yearbook and came up with the idea to develop a free interactive version called myYearbook.
The Cooks soon merged their social-networking site with Zenhex.com, an ad-supported site where users post poems, jokes and other content, more than doubling traffic to their site. By 2006, myYearbook had raised $4.1 million from the likes of U.S. Venture Partners and First Round Capital. The business attracted advertisers such as Neutrogena, Disney and ABC, grew to 3 million members worldwide and raked in annual sales in the "seven figures," Catherine says.
Hi everybody!! sorry i am very slow with the posts lately. I've been trying to keep myself busy trying to find a freakin job. I tell ya it's not really easy to find a job in the pastry department. I seriously see ZERO restaurants that need a pastry chef or cook. I am sooooooooo screwed for now so while I hope opportunity eventually comes, I am spending my mornings hiking with my mom, then later I cook. write new recipes. It makes me sad to start baking again in my own home because it reminds me of my ex job that i do miss but whatever. So anyway I was hiking today and along the trail, I saw a lot of bees. they were all centered around this tiny body of water and there was a danger sign near them. For some reason I am not afraid of bees probably because i've never got stung before so I just walked right up to the bees and snapped a picture. then I went to griffith park to hike there and saw more bees all in one spot. It was interesting cuz I've never seen that before not in the "wild" I guess since I used to work all the time and do errands in between, I never stopped to admire nature. It was refreshing so anyway check it out.
alright guys so I made a new header for the blog as you can see but this is a temporary header cuz I am tired looking for all those pictures and after the collage. I am gonna take a quick break and continue working on it. Ok see you all in a bit.
There is sooo much I want to see and do while in Mexico so here is more stuff I plan on doing which is watching the cliff divers jump from 90ft high into a 12ft deep body of water!!! I am dying to try the local food there!! I havent had a vacation since I was six!! I really need one.
ok so I dont have a job which I am very depressed about, I dont have a car cuz my mother's daughter took a cleaver to it and trashed it now it's going to cost 14 thousand dollars to repair it. So i am taking her to court and have talked to my lawyer in Beverly Hills. I am getting my money back that's for sure. So no car, no job no money no honey ha ha ha ha ha ha ha I am pretty much down on my luck so I need to distract myself for a little bit. My dad's in Guerrero Mexico (his native land) right now and within the next week or so I'll be joining him and hitting the beautiful beaches of Acapulco. I think I wanna hit ixtapa first. white sand beaches with beautiful clear waters. I am telling ya I am gonna explore the hell outta Mexico. I will be getting my laptop soon so I'll be online posting my adventures. for now I am looking online to see all the stuff I can do. Since I was encouraged by my mom to stay out there for a few months and relax before coming back and getting a job, I am making sure I am well equipped as to not let you miss a second of my life in Mexico. Right now I am planning my trip and will be leaving as soon as next friday. So here are a few videos of the places I plan to visit and the things I plan to do during my two or three month stay there. I have no money but but my dad does so screw it I'll just take some from him. why would he say no to me? ha ha ha ha OK ENJOY!! btw my dad has called me to ask when I am leaving. it's a matter of me getting my plane ticket that he's paying for LOL! I know I am bad but hey having offspring is expensive so wutever. LOL alright here we go! ENJOY!!!!
ok so here's an interview done to Mr. Miller regarding resident evil. ENJOY!!
Question: Ali was saying you’d never shot a gun before, but didn’t you shoot a gun on Prison Break? Miller: You know, if I had to boil it down, that’s the critical difference between Michael Schoefield and Chris Redfield. Chris can actually pull the trigger. Michael was never allowed to. So he never actually pulled the trigger? Miller: He pointed guns at people but the powers that be felt for him to actually shoot another character, it would force him too far into the dark side and the balance of good and evil on that show was pretty precarious to begin with. So you’re under the spotlight this time. Fans have been looking for Chris Redfield for the last three films. How daunting is that and tell us about your Chris versus the video game Chris. Miller: That’s a good question. A lot of different responses come to mind. They say that ignorance is bliss and I think the good news is that I went into this very much a clean slate. I hadn’t seen any of the movies, had never played the video games. I remembered, specifically the trailer, for the third movie because of that great shot of Vegas buried in the sand dunes. That was pretty iconic. But I’d never heard the name Chris Redfield before. I was quickly made aware that there was a rather large fan base out there for the movies and for the video games and this character held a special place in a lot of people’s hearts and minds. So I wanted, of course, to proceed with respect. The first thing I didn’t do is Google Chris Redfield because I didn’t just want to dive into the mass of what’s out there. But I did Google his images and we to a lot of different fan sites to see who Chris Redfield was, what images were popular and circulating. And I thought, “Wow, if what I’m seeing is an accurate representation this guy is right out of the WWF.” (Laughs) His arms are like the size of tree trunks. Four weeks to prepare for this movie. That’s not gonna happen. And then I went to the video games. I had the powers that be splice together a number of pivotal scenes, particularly from the first installment. I thought, “Wait a minute, that’s not quite the character that I’m seeing on my…” That Chris Redfield is maybe more accurately described as the “before” Chris Redfield. A little bit slimmer, but not only is there a physical difference there, aside from being clearly heroic and someone who can handle his business, there’s also something very sort of innocent about him as well. He’s still kind of freshly scrubbed in a way. So I had the images I saw online, I had what I saw in the video games and then of course I had Paul’s script. Paul’s, of course, the fountainhead as far as I’m concerned so I had to honor his Chris Redfield [and] assume my place in this particular universe and the Chris Redfield that he introduces is not only someone who’s been through a lot of serious crap, but is not emerging from a particularly dire set of circumstances. So I had to figure out how to make all of these different influences work and marry that with what I bring as an actor to the table. It has to be, in a sense, at the end of the day, my Chris Redfield. At the same time the fans very specifically had their say because when I got an email from the wardrobe department, they’re like, “Listen, we’re trying to come up with Chris Redfield’s gear, his sort of iconic look and we’re open to any suggestions.” I said, “Well, here are these images I found online. Let’s harvest from what’s already there.” So as far as what we came up with, it’s very much representative of a lot of those online influences. How close did you get to those arms like tree trunks? Miller: Still working on it. I’ll let you know in Resident Evil 5? So what is that look and what does your outfit look like? Miller: I guess this sort of thing I can probably tiptoe into. There’s already the paparazzi shots of us walking back and forth across the street to set. He’s got grey military fatigues. We paid particular attention to his, what we call his gack. The knee pad, the belts, the sword, the back gear. The plate, the little flashlight on the belt that our prop master geeks out over every time he sees. That’s where we tried to get as specific as possible. Did you do sword training? Miller: No sword training for this movie unfortunately. Something to look forward to. Have you heard about how popular this franchise is in Japan and other areas? Miller: Absolutely. Is it something that excites you and you’ve also mentioned the paparazzi taking pictures. Set photos are leaking more and more. Is that something you are made aware of? Miller: It’s something I was aware of thanks to my experience in Prison Break, which was a hit in the U.S. but a modest hit. Overseas, however, it became kind of this international phenomenon. At one point we had 135 million Chinese fans downloading the show every single week, which is a mind-blowing number. As far as we were concerned, we weren’t just making Prison Break for a domestic audience. We were making it for an international audience. That’s the new playing field as far as we were concerned. So to be a part of something like Resident Evil which is, now it’s been out there for about ten years and has this amazing overseas fan base, felt a little bit to me like a really advantageous move, not just from the creative side because Chris Redfield is a fantastic character obviously, a significant part of this mythology… It was also a way for me personally as an actor to keep sending my work out there to the broadest fan base possible, to continue to reach fans overseas that knew me from Prison Break, liked me from Prison Break and were curious as to what I’d do next. Can you talk about some of the big crazy stunts or fights or wirework you’ve done for this film? Miller: We are in the middle of putting together, as I’m sure you’ve seen, this incredible fight sequence at the end of the film. And one of the complications I guess that the 3-D technology’s brought to the table is that, when you’re watching through that medium it’s as though you can see around the corner, so when you’re trying to put together your fight choreography, if a hit doesn’t land, the audience will be able to tell. So that told, in preparation for shooting my part in the sequence, is that there may be moments from before they yell “action” where I have to actually put my face on Shawn Roberts fist, wait for them to yell action and then react as though I’ve just been cracked in the jaw, which is very different way of doing things for me coming from a different kind of technology in TV specifically, so I’m looking forward to adding that to my tool belt. What does Chris Redfield bring to the Resident Evil ensemble? Miller: I think that, obviously a franchise like Resident Evil serves its purpose in terms of providing kick ass chills, spills and thrills. At the same time, if you haven’t invested in the characters on screen, when they get picked off it’s like fire over the sky. It’s brilliant but meaningless, and I think Chris and Claire, together, bring something particularly special and significant because they represent. (The unit publicist whispers “Stop Talking.”) Miller: They represent, obviously, a familial bond, which is something that everyone in the audience can relate to, get, and invest in. So in and amongst the gunfights and the zombies and the madness, here are two characters with a clearly understandable and identifiable relationship that the audience can go, “I know that, I understand that and I’m rooting for these two on that level.” –
I have a favorite song every few weeks or so LOL anyway right now the song I am really liking is by B.o.B. featuring haley williams of paramore. Ok so While in vegas I pigged out on all kinds of really good high end food at L'atelier de Joel Robuchon. Being vegetarian I wouldnt have gone but since I didnt pay cuz it was a treat from the owner of the restaurant where I USED TO WORK. anyway here are the pictures with a brief explanation of what the dish is. we started with some wine.... wine from bordoux.. very sweet. and delicous! The kitchen was AWESOME!!! and the decor was too cool!! zucchini with an eggplant caviar and some prosciutto type ham with fresh mozzarella and other stuff that I dont remember what it is. onion tart with asparagus, bacon, spanish cheese and more stuff LOL scallop in it's shell... was fishy to me actually very little but still fishy. I forgot what this shrimp looking thing is called but it's like a mini lobster with a side salad. Some kind of fish that starts with an "M" with a soy sauce dressing and a radicchio salad. there was two but I had eaten the other leaf. My absolutely favorite dish of all was the foie gras with a kumquat jam and ginger gastrique. this dish just melted in my mouth and I fell in love with it and kept asking my boss to make me some at the restaurant. but he never did I still love it. I am officially in love with froie gras!!! the only "MEAT" I'll eat. this was a chocolate sphere with some kind of ice cream in the middle that I forgot the flavor. anyway the red sauce was poured on top in a way that the chocolate sphere opens up like a tulip. this was a lemon flavor dessert inside a sugar shell topped with a gold leaf that you cant see in this picture. I forgot what the highlight of this one was but anyway there was one more dish that I forgot to post that I will post as soon as I get it but thanx for visiting!!
