SAG STRIKE??
Screen Actors Guild members hold a rally in Los Angeles.
The auto industry’s crashing. Wall Street’s ticker is bouncing like those giant red balls on "Wipeout." Television is supposed to offer a refuge from reality, an escape from economic issues and hardships.
But less than a year after one crippling strike, some popular TV shows may succumb to another work stoppage.
The Screen Actors Guild, or SAG, has announced it will mail ballots to its 120,000 members on Jan. 2 requesting authorization to strike against production studios. Votes will be tabulated by Jan. 23. Union leaders need 75 percent approval to proceed.
For viewers who’ve been distracted by economic survival of late, here’s a brief rundown on the players and the scorecard:Q. What is SAG?
A. SAG was founded in 1933 and is the largest union representing actors in filmed productions for TV and the movies. Its current president is Alan Rosenberg (recently separated from wife Marg Helgenberger of "CSI" fame). Its best-known past president was Ronald Reagan, a famously tough negotiator with the studios.
Now remember that word “filmed,” because it’s important.
Q. Who’s on the other side?
A. The Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers, or AMPTP, a management group spearheaded by executives from Hollywood’s eight top studios, including Viacom Inc. (CBS), Disney Co. (ABC), News Corp. (Fox) and General Electric Co. (NBC).
Q. What are the issues?
A. The talks, which broke down before Thanksgiving, focus on actors receiving royalties from content distributed via new media: iTunes, DVDs, etc. These items aren’t covered in the old SAG contract and are a growing source of revenue. Another issue is payment for mentioning products on scripted series, which earns the shows advertising income.
In fact, the major distinction between the SAG-AMPTP fight and other industry disputes is that while most workers these days are trying not to pay for management decisions, SAG would like to cash in on them.
Q. Why have a strike?
A. Recent history has shown some effectiveness. The strike by the Writers Guild of America that shortened the 2007-2008 TV season centered on the same new-media issues and did win some key concessions from the studios.
But the WGA had good timing. Its strike was supported by other professionals negotiating with the studios, such as the Directors Guild of America. Those unions since have gotten contracts, which may weaken SAG’s support — especially since some insiders say SAG is asking for higher percentages than these other royalty-seekers won.
Q. What shows would be affected by the strike?
Remember that word “filmed?” It holds the answer to what viewers might or might not see.
SAG isn’t the only performers’ union. The younger American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, or AFTRA, was formed in the wake of new technologies. Its 70,000 members appear in videotaped productions such as soap operas, reality shows and some primetime series, as well as news and sports programming.
AFTRA reached agreement in July on a new contract with the studios. So a strike won’t halt such videotaped or live programs as “American Idol,” “Deal or No Deal,” 60 Minutes,” “The Daily Show” and NFL football.
But filmed productions that include Top 20 series like “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Desperate Housewives” and “House” would be affected — to a point. Viewers can be thankful that the studios learned from last year’s strike and accelerated production schedules. Many primetime series already have between 75 and 90 percent of their season wrapped up.
A strike might have the power to diminish the Oscars on Feb. 22. Actors would be asked to honor the SAG boycott. This would pose a dilemma for presenters and attendees, although the lines aren't completely clear since the event itself is videotaped, not filmed, and falls under AFTRA, not SAG, rules.
Q. Will there be a strike?
A. Ideologically, SAG has a divided camp, with over 40,000 of its members also belonging to AFTRA. A strike can’t have much impact on nearly completed shows. And it seems nutty to flirt with anything that drives audiences away in light of how TV ratings have never recovered from the last strike. So the answer’s probably no.
Still, the studios’ use of an economic crisis to generate bad publicity for SAG could backfire. Hollywood bookkeeping is a notoriously flexible concept, and given the WGA’s recent statements that writers still aren’t getting the new-media residuals promised them, SAG may feel more militant.
Click for related content |
Q. So which side do I root for?
A. If your goal is to see seasons of "24" more often than 18 months apart, maybe you should send flowers to Kiefer Sutherland beseeching him not to honor his SAG membership.
Others may feel differently. While actors aren’t exactly auto workers or bank tellers, you still may feel there’s no reason for a union to make any concessions after years of management enriching itself.
Then there’s the third approach: The world is full of amusements. You two sides work it out and focus on me, the viewer, or I’ll go find something else to do.

Last Night on Prison Break: Fall Finale 12/22
*If you missed it: you can go to FOX on Demand to watch the full episode before reading the recap!
Prison Break returns in Spring 2009!
Last week: The General provides Michael with the much needed surgery in exchange for Lincoln getting Scylla back from the buyer who stole it from Gretchen & Self. Mahone gets away from Wheeler & Lang after being taken into custody in episode 414.
This week: Lincoln, TBag, Gretchen & Self travel to Miami hunting down the buyer who has Scylla, while Sara is in some ritzy hotel wondering where Michael is. Sara asks about Sucre but Lincoln has to tell her that he's gone and he's (Lincoln), unfortunately, stuck with people he doesn't trust. He did manage to leave messages for Mahone so he'd know where to find him.
Gretchen did a little digging and found that the buyer made some calls to some nearby club. Lincoln heads over there just before letting Self know he should be thankful he hadn't killed him already!
Michael awakens in some country home in the middle of nowhere. He gives the place a quick go over before realizing he's basically been kidnapped - Company folks are roaming around & the doors are locked from the outside. The bad guy walks in with a psychiatrist named Roger Knowlton. He tells Michael that the General wanted him to talk to him about the Company, to answer any questions he might have about them. Michael quickly tells him that he knows all he needs to know including what Scylla really is & that his mother once worked for them. To Michael's surprise, Dr. Knowlton tells him that his mother is alive, well AND that she STILL works for the Company!
Lincoln arrives at the club. One of the guys there tells him that they aren't open yet but he explains he's looking for someone. The girl immediately looks suspicious. Lincoln starts to walk over to her & one of the guys charges at him & of course Lincoln lets him have it just before he dashes hot coffee on the other guy! He grabs the girl, who we later learn is Tia and makes her tell him where to find the buyer.
Michael & Dr. Knowlton take a walk outside. He starts telling Michael that his mother left them because they were in danger; threats had been made on their lives so she felt it necessary to leave. He explains the work she does for the Company. Michael, very skeptical that any of this is true, asks to talk to her. The bad doc tells him that when he's ready to join her, as in work for the Company, then he can talk to her! So that's what this whole thing has been about!
Meanwhile, Lincoln & Tia go to meet Erica, the girl Tia said is dating the Scylla buyer. Erica shows up so Lincoln gets out to go talk to her. Just as he approaches her, gun shots ring out! Tia set him up! The buyer was calling the club for her! She hops in the car with whomever was shooting at Lincoln & they get away but not before Lincoln fires off a shot & hits one of them! The getaway car drops Tia off to meet the buyer. Obviously she's his accomplice because he tells her good work for making Lincoln believe that Erica was the one he was with. Just as she searches her purse for cigarettes, she realizes her wallet is missing! My boy Lincoln! He gives Tia's info to Self & TBag so they can search her apartment for info. Gretchen tries to get on Linc's good side by attempting to tell him what Self & TBag have been talking about behind his back. Linc doesn't bite. I think Gretchen has something up her sleeves... doesn't she always?
Sara pays Krantz a visit asking to lend a hand in Michael's recovery but he tells her that she serves Michael best at a distance and they'll be together very soon. He also tells her that Michael's talents will be utilized on a global scale & she'll be by his side innovating... she wonders what "talents" Michael possesses that would be of interest to the Company but he doesn’t answer, then has her escorted out.
Dr. Knowlton is still trying to convince Michael that it is his destiny to work for the Company. The doctor tells Michael that both he & his mother had almost identical theses that, he believes, was meant as a metaphor for something bigger. He tells him that his mother was just as reluctant to join them until she learned the "truth". He then tells Michael that for this Scylla project to function fully on a global scale, it would need two brilliant minds, not just one! Michael gets up in disgust so Knowlton pulls out an old family album full of photos from Michael's childhood.
Sara, going nuts in her hotel room, gets a text message telling her to be at 5416 Grand Street in one hour... who could this be from? She dashes off to find out!
Meanwhile, Self & TBag ransack Tia's apartment looking for something, anything. They complain about Lincoln's leadership abilities and decide that he should no longer be in charge.
Lincoln & Gretchen discuss how this buyer could possibly be working for someone inside the Company. Gretchen tells Lincoln that because this guy is completely off the radar, that signifies Company. Next thing you know, Gretchen asks: "Lincoln, when are we gonna get this outta the way?" Lincoln's like "WHAT?" She hops up from her seat, walks over to him and basically begs him to have sex with her... in so many words. Before he could answer - and I should say he looked a little vaguely interested - the other two walked in blabbering about how they found nothing they could use at Tia's apartment LOL! Suddenly, Self opens his big mouth about taking over the big dog spot. TBag tells Linc that he's no longer in charge; Self is. Gretchen tells Linc to just let Self do whatever he feels he needs but Lincoln disagrees. Self tries to reiterate his point so Lincoln charges toward him like he was gonna kill him. All of a sudden, the door opens & everyone pulls their weapons; it's Mahone! He walks in just in time! Lincoln turns to Self & says "The second you stop doing what I tell you to do, I'm gonna blow your brains out!" OMG I love the look on Self's face! He could barely breathe let alone make eye contact with Lincoln!!! That is by far, my favorite line of this episode, season even!
Michael begins to recall his childhood memories while looking through the old family photo album. The doctor tells him that he & his mother & Lincoln could all be a family again but Michael feels that this is highly unrealistic. Dr. Knowlton starts telling Michael that his mother knows about him visiting her gravesite every year. He gives him great detail but Michael still doesn't believe him.
Back at the hotel room, Lincoln and the gang try to figure out what the buyer's next move is gonna be. They conclude that he will probably try to get out with Scylla by boat so they head down to the marina. When they arrive, Self & Mahone go in grilling this guy about Tia. He claims not to know her so Self pulls out his badge (he calls Mahone “Bruce Liberace” LOL!!!). He tells the man that he's looking into the smuggling of Cuban cigars and threatens to shut down the marina for a week. The man then says he did see her & the buyer. When he told them which charter the buyer was interested in, they dash outside to search the bags of the passengers about to board. This one guy looks suspicious, gets out of line and takes off. Lincoln & Mahone go after him but he only ran because he's on probation and had marijuana in his possession... crap! So they go back in to talk to the man again who refuses to continue to cooperate because his attorney says he didn't have to. Of course Self pulls out his weapon & the guy changes his mind about giving up the security tape!
Michael was back in the house, still looking at the photo album when the big goon walks in & teases him about the foil paper helmets he & Lincoln wore in one of the pics! Krantz makes a call to Dr. Knowlton asking about Michael's progress. He tells him that without the drugs, Michael can be brought around in about 3 days, which he suggests is better because if Michael makes up his own mind to join the Company, they'll own him forever. Krantz doesn't trust Michael & threatens that the doctor better get him to join or it'll be his head on a platter.
Sara was still waiting at the meeting place but no one ever showed up. Suddenly a pay phone rings & she runs over. As soon as she answers, hooded dudes grab her & throw her in the back of a van. They toss Sara from the van into a limo... guess who's waiting for her? Lisa, the general's daughter! I knew telling her that he wanted a son was gonna come back to bite him LOL! Anyway, Lisa takes the cuffs off of Sara & tells her that the Company can't know she's talking to her. She gives Sara the address where Michael is & tells her they are carving out his personality to recruit him. Clearly, Lisa is not happy with her father killing what’s his face a few episodes back & wants to help save Michael. She tells Sara to quit wasting time, get out of her limo & go save Michael!
The gang ends up back at the hotel trying to figure out what went wrong. While TBag & Self argue about what happened, Gretchen sees the buyer's face but doesn't say anything even when Lincoln asks her about it. Sara calls Lincoln to tell him what she knows about Michael. She tells him that she wants to get to him to help him but Lincoln tells her to stay at the hotel because whatever she's planning could put Michael & them at risk. TBag listens in on this conversation and calls the General to inform him that Sara knows where Michael is. He thanks T for the call but hangs up on him when he tries to remind him of their agreement!
The General and Dr. Knowlton chat about Michael's progress again. He tells him that he thinks Michael is coming along well and shouldn't be a problem. The General wants to move things along further because of the situation with Sara calling her a lapdog LOL! He insists that the doctor give him the drugs now rather than later so he could be moved in 20 minutes. Knowlton warns against it and asks what they should do if Michael can't be revived. Krantz reply: "C'est la vie!"
The gang looks over the footage from the Marina when they realize Gretchen is gone. She's sitting at the marina waiting for the buyer, who's name is Scott. When he arrives, he asked how she found him & what she wanted. She runs down her resume but he already knows who she is and is only interested in what she wants. She tells him that she's willing to get rid of the people who are after him, i.e. Lincoln. He tells her that he's authorized to negotiate on behalf of who he works for. He offers her $10 million and if she asks for more, he'll shoot her in the chest.
The big goon readies the injections for Michael while Michael has already "readied" something for them. The doctor calls for Michael, so he exits the bathroom and the goons grab him. He pulls out the syringe but hears a noise coming from another room. The water heater explodes from a contraption Mikey has set & it blows the bad guys away LOL! Michael orders the head goon to give the injection to the doctor, then he makes him handcuff himself to the bed so he can get away. The Company vehicle that Krantz sent to pick up Michael has arrived. He takes off but they are hot on his tail!
Gretchen shows up at the hotel with "good news". She tells the guys that she knows who the buyer is. She tells them that it's someone who's been working for the Company for 10 years named Lawrence Wilcott. She also tells them that Scott is with Wilcott and she knows where he's staying. They all head out.
Meanwhile, Michael is running for dear life with bullets flying all around him. He tries to escape but they catch up to him. Then out of nowhere comes this jeep... it's Sara! She hits the Company guys' vehicle and Michael gets away with her!
Gretchen, Lincoln and the boys arrive outside of what is supposed to be Wilcott's building. She stalls for time as Scott and his men show up, guns drawn; Gretchen pulls hers on the boys, too. Way to go Gretchen X( Self has some exclusively choice words for Gretchen as she has a flashback of her baby girl Emily telling her goodbye. Suddenly, she shoots the two guys with Scott, leaving him to face Lincoln! YAY Gretchen... I knew she wouldn't let me down! She tells Scott that she wants her life back more than she wants his money. Lincoln demands Scylla but he only tells him that he can get it. Mahone realizes that he's bluffing. Scott agrees & says they can all kiss his bottom because all he wants to do is... shoot Gretchen... and he does but not before she gets a shot off and so does Mahone, killing him. Self, of course wants Lincoln to kill her because she was gonna kill them. Mahone & TBag both plead for her life. Lincoln opts not to kill her & tells her to keep her moth shut. She knows she'd be dog meat at the General's request if she talks in prison so they leave her. With police sirens in the background, Gretchen lay waiting for them... guess we know who'll be in Cherry Hill =) At least we hope... if it's still in the works!
Michael tells Sara that he believes his mother is still alive.
The guys all sit somber in the hotel room until Scott's cell phone rings (TBag picked it off him after he was shot). Lincoln answers it but the person on the other end does not respond. He then says: "Your boy is dead. And now I'm coming after you. You hear me? Whoever you are, I'm coming after you." It's a woman... she puts the phone down and picks up Scylla. She looks very upset. A man enters the room asking who it was on the phone. She replies: "It was my son. Lincoln." OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woman paints her car with nail polish!!!!!
What would you do with approximately 250 bottles of nail polish? Why, painstakingly paint a giant colorful quilt on your car, of course.
According to The Maryland Gazette that's just what Urbana resident Jill Bell did. After finding a dent in her car's hood, she cleverly painted a Band-Aid over the unsightly bump. Chuckle. She liked the idea so much, she decided to paint her entire car with nail polish! I'm guessing (and hoping) she didn't use one of those $30-a-pop lacquers from Chanel's Moscow Collection.
Nope. What she did use? The help of others. "Lots of ladies in my church donated nail polish, and lots of ladies at Weight Watchers, too," she told the newspaper. Bell estimates that 100-250 bottles of nail polish were used to accomplish this feat — a feat that took 13 months to finish. Whoa.

Jodi Lyn O'Keefe's Prison Break Run
TVGuide.com: You made it pretty far; 28 episodes is pretty impressive on this show.
Jodi Lyn O'Keefe: To be a bad guy, yeah.
TVGuide.com: And to be a female.
O'Keefe: That's also true. I'll give myself extra credit for that!
TVGuide.com: Are you happy that they kept Gretchen alive? Do you think it was for a reason?
O'Keefe: Yeah, I do. At the beginning of the year it was touch-and-go. There even was an article about how I was dead for a minute, and then I wasn't. [Gretchen originally was supposed to die in this season's opener, but producers changed their minds and rewrote her storyline.] I'm actually still breathing on-camera — I'm just mortally wounded — so you never know.
TVGuide.com: If the series goes on another season, she could resurface. Or, if Fox ever pulls the trigger on the Prison Break: Cherry Hill spin-off, it could be Gretchen breaking out of the women's prison.
O'Keefe: Yeah! [Laughs] That would be great.
TVGuide.com: You once teased for me a Gretchen/T-Bag romance. Was that something that got scrapped or ...?
O'Keefe: That's just something I heard. They tell us a lot of things, but not always the truth. They learned their lesson with me because apparently I give things away. [Laughs] I don't mean to, but ... I get excited!
TVGuide.com: And I guess we won't get the kind of Gretchen/Sara faceoff that fans really wanted.
O'Keefe: Not like the one I was hoping for. We had a little bit of a faceoff, but no guns were drawn. I handed Sara a whip and she kind of wimped out, like, "Nah, I'm good. I'll get you when the time comes."
TVGuide.com: The introduction of Gretchen's daughter was a nice element. It gave you interesting places to go as an actress.
O'Keefe: It actually made me human, which I appreciated. You can't be all-bad all the time. And that little girl was awesome — she looked just me, and she was the sweetest little thing! Her name is Reagan, and she drew me pictures on my birthday.
TVGuide.com: Do you feel like you proved to yourself that you could pull off this extreme of a role?
O'Keefe: Yeah. You know, I wasn't really sure if I could do it or not. I wanted to take a really good shot at it, but it's unlike anything I've ever done before. And me being the head cheerleader for security, I wasn't sure if it would work out. [Laughs] I could only hope for the best and dive in head first.
TVGuide.com: Gretchen showed herself to be a force to be reckoned with, a real live wire.
O'Keefe: Thank you. It's bizarre, because everywhere I've been going people have been stopping in their tracks to say just how much they hate me — and that's great. People must be liking it to say, "Hey, you're awesome. We hate you so much."
TVGuide.com: What was harder — getting in Dominic Purcell's face or being mean to Wentworth Miller?
O'Keefe: [Laughs] Being mean to Went is always hard. He's such a great guy and so sweet and funny and considerate. He's a lovely human being to be around.
TVGuide.com: Your final episode had this sexually charged moment between Gretchen and Linc, where she had this great line: "After all the mercenary humps I've thrown at guys in my lifetime..."
O'Keefe: " ... I think I'm due for what I want." Yeah, I was like, "He's not buying any of this!" [Laughs] He didn't believe me for a minute.
TVGuide.com: Yet there was a brief flash across his face where he seemed to at least be considering it.
O'Keefe: I hope so! I was giving it my best effort, like, "Please buy this! Please!" She was just looking out for herself, trying to get everyone on Team Gretchen. She's probably horny also. What other way can she use to get what she needs?
TVGuide.com: Do you have your next job lined up yet?
O'Keefe: No, I just finished with the whole Prison Break thing and now it's the holidays, so I came back to Jersey to hang out with my family. Everything will start back up in the new year — depending on what goes on with the [possible Screen Actors Guild] strike.
TVGuide.com: Do you think a SAG strike might happen?
O'Keefe: I certainly hope not. I understand the points, but it feels like such a bad time, with the recession and everything that's going on. I just felt so lucky to be employed. Granted, only six percent of us [actors] actually work, but I would thank god every morning that I have a job. To go back to another strike 0after last winter's WGA walkout]... I can't even imagine.
TVGuide.com: A final Prison Break question: Did you get to keep Gretchen's schoolgirl outfit?
O'Keefe: Uh, I gave that back immediately. I was like, "Oh, thanks. This was great."
TVGuide.com: Besides, you already have one in your closet.
O'Keefe: I do. I have several.

Last Night on Prison Break 12/15
Last week: OMG so much happened, so let's see! Linc busted Self trying to smoke bomb the warehouse but they let him go. Self kills Viking in a greedy attempt to get the full payoff for Scylla. Gretchen & Sucre beat the crap outta each other, while Michael catches up to Self & snatches Scylla, only to pass out cold and lose it back to Self. The Company kidnaps Michael, takes him to their hospital so they could perform the surgery he needs... of course the price of the surgery is Lincoln getting Scylla back!
This week: Sara walks in asking Lincoln where Michael is. He tells her about the surgery and that it will be performed by Company doctors and that there is no time to come up with other options. General Krantz enters the room & tells Sara that she’ll be treated as a guest during Michael's surgery. Just as she asks what happens after the surgery, the surgeon walks in to let him know that Michael is ready. Lincoln has this strange look in his eyes as he tells Sara not to worry, kinda‘ like the one Anakin Skywalker had when he started to grow weary of his alliance with the Jedi LOL!
The surgeon explains the procedure to Mike, telling him he'll need to remain awake during the surgery so he can be monitored. He asks her where he is but Sara interrupts as to not let him know that he‘s in the Company‘s care. The General & Linc debate back & forth about getting Scylla & about Michael's surgery. He offers Lincoln anything he needs to get the job done, including TBag! When Lincoln walks in, TBag immediately starts groveling. Lincoln pulls out some pliers, lays them on the table then punches TBag in the face. As he continues to be a jerk about giving up information, Lincoln pulls his tooth out! OUCH!!!! He finally tells Lincoln where Gretchen & Self are meeting the buyer with Scylla. Damn, Lincoln's good as a Company man!
It's just about time for Michael's surgery to begin. He makes small talk with Sara before she walks away looking very scared & unsure. Michael doesn't look so sure either as he gives her a fake smile. Sara questions the surgeon about the procedure they are about to perform on Mikey when she advises Sara that they'll be using a different technique than what she's familiar with.
Lincoln meets up with Sucre outside, letting him know that he needs him to finish this. Sucre is very reluctant because he sees this gang dwindling down one by one.
Gretchen & Self argue back and forth about who's gonna handle what! She attempts to seduce him which doesn't work very well LOL!
Mahone, in the back of the car, starts running down Federal codes to Wheeler so that he can use the restroom. Wheeler in turn recites a code of his own: run & I'll shoot you in the back of the head!
Sara continues to question the surgeon about what's going on with Michael's procedure. She explains that his cerebral cortex will be stimulated by those metal rods (I think LOL). When his brain loses oxygen, it'll attempt to continue operating his body, his senses will be working overtime & will literally hit him all at once. At that moment, Michael is back in his old cell at Fox River. He stands, looks around & suddenly, Westmoreland appears! He tells Michael that he isn't dead but is, rather, there to find the answer to why he's having this “dream“.
Lang & Wheeler escort Alex to the restroom. Wheeler tells him that he has only 15 seconds - who the hell takes a leak in only 15 seconds... then again, I'm not a dude, so IDK LOL! Anyway, as Felicia goes to check on Alex, he's coming through the door. He tells her that she should have trusted him the same way he trusted her. A flash back inside the restroom shows that a piece of the pipe beneath the sink is missing.
One of the surgeons tells Michael that he should slowly recite the alphabet & let him know if he has trouble doing so. As he inserts the metal rods into Michael's skull, he begins to say his "ABC's"... he goes back to his subconscious mind & talks to Westmoreland some more. He apologizes to Charles for all the wrong he's done and explains that he feels everything he did was for nothing. Westmoreland tells him that it didn't have to be for nothing & we're taken to a wall in the cell with bits of Michael's elaborate scheme to break Linc out & other pieces of information that has lead up to where they are now. He tells Michael that he has all the answers, he just needs to ask the right questions.
Sucre & Lincoln race to the pier where Self & Gretchen are. Self refuses to give Gretchen the buyer's number. Her sister calls to tell her that TBag let them go & that she & Emily are safe. She gives Emily the phone to tell her mommy goodbye... forever. Gretchen tells Self that the Company took Tbag& since he knows where the exchange point is, the Company will too.
Linc & "Sugar" arrive at the pier but Gretchen & Self are already gone. The buyer is there but hides out, watching as they leave. He makes a phone call to someone asking what he should do because whomever he was supposed to meet is not who he sees.
Mahone asks Lang when she decided to turn her back on him but Wheeler butts in with his crude comments. She explains that she only wanted him safe but as long as he was on the run, he wasn't safe. Wheeler asks Mahone why he keeps looking out of the window & suddenly he breaks the glass, opens the door & runs!
Sara stands watching the surgeons as the General walks up behind her. He says he's only there for "customer service" and "quality control". He tells her that he admires her devotion but asks if she's in it for Michael or the cause. She explains that she's looking for whomever is responsible for her father's murder. She questions him about the equipment and the experimental procedure being performed on Michael. He tells her that everything is not what it seems & that the one other patient who had this same surgery "lived a long and happy life"... hmm... wonder who he could be talking about?
Michael is still having "dreams" of Westmoreland & of what he can do to figure out what he needs to know. He tries to decipher the crap on the wall, pulling down sticky notes and tearing off pieces of the paper. He sits & tells Westmoreland that he can't take anymore of this. He wants it over because, even though he saved his brother's life, so many other people have lost their lives. He feels like a murderer of sorts but Westmoreland assures him that this "war" he's in can be won because everything is not what it seems! Michael looks up at the wall, at the tears he made in the papers & guess what he sees: "SCYLLA".
Gretchen & Self arrive at a convenience store to buy a new cell phone. Self wants to contact the buyer again but Gretchen tells him he should be more concerned about what's actually on Scylla, rather that what it's worth & who he can sell it to.
Lincoln gets a call from a company operator telling him that Gretchen & Self were just spotted by a traffic cam at that store.
Alex is on the run & Lang is hot on his trail. She catches him, but he tells her that he's "as good as dead" if she takes him in so he's gonna run. She begs him not to make her do it, but he turns his back & takes off anyway! She fires a shot - BANG!!! Commercial break - sorry LOL!!
Back from the break - Wheeler asks Lang what happened with Mahone. She says she had him in her sights but missed him! YAY Lang! I like you again, girl! She even lied, telling Wheeler that Alex went in a different direction. When Wheeler goes chasing down the wrong trail, Lang turns to see Alex still standing there... She lets him go!
Meanwhile Lincoln & Sucre finally arrive at the convenience store. They question the store clerk about Self & Gretchen but he lies about seeing them. Lincoln smashes the guy's head into the counter & demands the receipt for the cell phone they bought. They can track it using the code from the receipt!
Gretchen & Self are still arguing... nothing new! They meet at the new exchange point to wait for the buyer to show up. He teases her about not being able to "excite" the General & steal his card a few epis ago... I think I've said this before, but I truly don't believe Don Self realizes exactly what Gretchen Louise Morgan is capable of!
The surgeon comes out to talk to Sara who explains to her that Michael's condition looks worse than what they originally thought. She tells Sara that there is a possibility Michael will have some memory loss but it will be only gross memory loss, meaning, whatever memory he loses, he won't even know it's gone because he doesn't even realize it's there now! Right! Ok, moving on... Michael begins seeing flashes of the pics he took of the "Scylla" meeting from earlier this season. He begins to remember conversations he heard as well. He starts to crash in real life, while in dreamland, he's figuring this all out! All this cluttered crap is giving me a headache, so I can understand him crashing! Westmoreland appears and tells Michael that it's time to go. Sara is screaming his name & the doctors are working desperately to save him! He flatlines! OMG NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Sara bursts in the operating room begging a very unconscious Michael to wake up! He's tells Westmoreland that he hasn't figured it out yet & can’t go. Westmoreland tells Michael to relax because Scylla isn't bad. Michael takes a pen and draws boxes around groupings of letters in the word BARGAIN, making B - AR - GA - IN... Westmoreland tells him "everything is not as it seems" and says goodbye. The doctors put some drug in Michaels IV & he begins to reminisce about Sara & Fox River & all he's been through. He gasps & wakes up! YAY!!!!! Everyone is relieved!
Lincoln got the Company to trace the cell phone that Gretchen & Self bought. They know where they are & head there.
The buyer shows up at the warehouse to get Scylla. Self is so stupid... he pulls a gun on the guy & tells him that he will not give him Scylla until he sees the money. The man refuses saying until he verifies the contents, he's not paying. Gretchen pulls her gun on Self & tells him to do what the man says so he does. The information is verified, but it's not just the black book! It's seems to be information of a more sensitive nature, like some "rule the world" kinda' stuff LOL!
Meanwhile, Linc & Sucre show up but end up making noise. Gretchen & Self go to look for the noise & the buyer starts shooting at them, hitting Self in the arm as he gets away with Scylla! In the gun battle, Linc & Sucre surface. Gretchen fires off at Sucre but runs out of ammo & says "it's your lucky day, sugar"! Linc pulls a gun to the back of her head & says "not yours"... Damn I love this show! He demands Self tell him where the buyer went but he has no idea. So Linc kicks him before turning to Gretchen & demanding the same info. She tells him that if he kills her, he'll never know where the guy went.
Michael starts telling Sara about what he discovered in his "dream". He remembered the General saying "as long as we have Scylla, we have power", but he realized that "power" didn't mean "control" or "influence"; the General actually meant "energy". Remember B AR GA IN, well they refer to the elements Boron, Argon, Gallium & Indium. He tells her that the theory is if these four elements can be combined successfully, 100% of the sun's energy can be harnessed, thus giving the holder of Scylla unlimited possibilities! This explains why Scylla is so highly guarded & coveted!
As Linc heads back in to see Michael, Sucre questions him about what's going to happen next. Sucre is tired of the running & the dead bodies. All he wanted to know is that Michael was ok and since he now knows he is, he's leaving. Lincoln tells him that it's ok because this was never his fight anyway. Sucre tells Linc to be careful with this plan of his & reminds him that when they get the scuba shop up & running not to forget about him.
The General starts going off on Lincoln about not having retrieved Scylla & about not wanting to work with Gretchen, TBag or Self. He tells him that since they all stole it, they all need to get it back. LOL he told him that he'd work with a basset hound in a birthday hat if that's what he tells him to do because he's NOW HIS EMPLOYEE LOL! He tells him that he needs help from the others. He also tells him that he might even like working for him then reminds him that he has something to tell Michael or else he will.
The buyer gets a phone call from a female asking if he has Scylla & telling him that he knows what to do. Hmm... a female in power... who could THIS be?
Meanwhile back at the ranch, I mean the Company LOL, Lincoln goes to see Michael. They laugh about how Mike's arm was broken as a little leaguer... guess who the bruiser was that did it LOL? He tells Linc that whatever plan he's working on to get them out of there needs to be addressed sooner than later. Lincoln tells Michael that he's not going anywhere then explains that he made an agreement with General Krantz to save his life in exchange for getting Scylla back! Michael's response LOL: "Why would you do that?" Well dur, the same reason Michael covered himself in tattoos to break Lincoln out of Fox River! Michael doesn't trust that the Company is simply going to let them walk away after this is done & begs Linc not to trust them either but Linc tells him that he feels like he can't trust anyone else & he only cares about family at this point. He starts telling Michael about their mother & how she worked for the Company before she died. He then tells Michael: "I'm just moving on with the family business"!! OMG Lincoln has gone to the dark side!!! Didn’t I tell you he reminded me of Anakin Skywalker AKA Darth Vader & guess who the evil emperor is!

'Prison Break' casts Kathleen Quinlan
Kathleen Quinlan has been locked up — in a recurring role on Prison Break. Playing a mysterious woman who has ties to the Company and a surprising connection to Michael, she'll appear in at least four episodes this season, starting with the Fox drama's fall finale on Dec. 22. Meanwhile, the series welcomes back a familiar face from season 1 in the Dec. 15 episode: Muse Watson, a.k.a. Charles Westmoreland. No, he's not quite back from the dead; Michael (Wentworth Miller) interacts with his old prison pal while in a dream-like state during brain surgery. Freaky stuff.
