Long time no see, but it's me LOL... That's right, SoLo is back - perhaps for a limited time BUT then again... you never know! Either way, good to be here! SoHo called me & Zie out so I decided I'd better post something or else get beat up. She's small but she's MEAN! Just kidding, SoHo, you know I love you bunches! Ok so I'll gather up some stuff to post about... actually, I think I have just the thing! Be back with a post soon!

So sorry for my absence in the past weeks. I've been a little ill & a little busy (well, a lot ill & a lot busy) but I'm back! I've missed a whole heck of stuff that really needs to be posted so I'll go back & just post it all. Sorry if you guys had to read it elsewhere first, but I promise, I wasn't goofing off while on my little sabbatical! Ok, so without further ado, a ton of posts will follow!

So sorry I've been so preoccupied that I haven't had time for my baby in days, but I'm sorting through some things. Rest assured that I'll be back very soon.

With Prison Break on hiatus right now, I've decided to add a new blog or two =) Ahh the idle mind at work lol... yeah, so a few other shows (or whatever else I can think of) will be up & running in the next week or so.

Tonight on Prison Break...

This was a very exciting episode! We thought there would be one double crosser yet there were several. The death we expected was not the one we thought! The person going to jail was also unexpected! The preview for the latter part of the season looks amazing & I CANNOT WAIT!!! If you didn't watch it tonight, shame on you; I watched & have rewatched! I'll be working on the preview first thing in the morning. Amazing show... let's hope the "powers that be" realize what they have & keep it going!

The Wonderful Adventures of SoHo & SoLo

It's been awhile since we posted an adventure. Actually, I think the last time was when I had inclimate weather... well, guess what brings about this one? Yep, that's it: more inclimate weather. But this time, it's welcomed!

Living in south Louisiana has it's perks: nice sunny days, not too much cold, etc., etc. It also has it's downfalls: stupid hurricanes, nearl unbearably humid days & NO SNOW! I was just telling a friend the other day that I've only seen snow three times in my life, until today! Make that a WHOLE four times LOL! So I was so happy that it actually snowed, I was out at 6am this morning, in 34 degree weather, taking pics to share! The first few pics are from about 6:15am so they are pretty dark but you can see the snow falling and you can see the outline of the white stuff! About 6:45am, when there was more daylight, I got some pretty good pics. My last pic is from about 7:45am.

The snow has stopped falling now at 8:35am, but it's still frickin freezing outside (it actually has dropped to 32 degrees finally). A lot the businesses and schools in our area & surrounding areas are closed because people here simply do not know how to drive in this stuff! Tires made for driving in the snow aren't even sold here and since the roads are really icy & a lot slicker than in simple rain, we're basically shut down! AWESOME!

So, I'm gonna run out to Wal-Mart later to get gumbo cooking supplies! Other than that, if I don't have to leave the house, I WON'T! Enjoy your day as much as I will!

With that said, I'm going to bed; SoHo is as well. We'll pick back up tomorrow. Just in case anyone is wondering, it's about 3:40pm in Beijing. The MTime interview was scheduled to being at 2pm. I'm not sure where and what time the commercial is because details were not released. We've been checking the last few hours and there are no updates as of 2:41am SoLo time!

It was election weekend in my city this past weekend. I absolutely hate leaving my house for any reason! I am truly lazy; I can't lie! But I had a conversation with a 15 year old the other day & he said that he wouldn't register to vote because he doesn't care whose president because it wouldn't affect him any. I was actually shocked to hear that & asked him why he thought the people who hold these political offices didn't affect him. He couldn't really answer me & so I began to explain the state of our nation to him. I explained that if he didn't exercise his right to vote, then he would be making null the fight people like Martin Luther King, Jr. went through so everyone's voice could be heard. Voting is an expression of speech & your vote, though only one, does count.

After that conversation, I began to check myself. The polls are open from 6am to 8pm so I can be very flexible about when choosing a time to go. I chose to go around 5pm Saturday evening. As I walked in, there was an older lady & a couple walking in as well. After my identification was verified, I walked in the booth, punched in my choices for local politicians and walked out. The whole process took only 5 minutes & it wouldn't taken that long had I not been third in line! I felt empowered because, in voting, I just told my city, my state, my nation, who I wanted to represent me!

The right to vote only gives us the opportunity to show how important we are to our world. Actually going to the polls to vote lets us & everyone else know that we do have a place in this world. Exercise your right to vote! Let your voice be heard! Remember: if you don't vote, you have no right to complain!

What do they mean: "the last season"?

The buzz online today is that Entertainment Weekly had a heart to heart with Prison Break producer Matt Olmstead. Now I'm 95% sure I read this somewhere like 2 or 3 weeks ago. I particularly remember the part where Mr. Olmstead says "There’s a shelf life to serialized drama. If this is the last season, we’re not mourning that because it’s been a great ride and we have a great season [ahead]." I can't find where I posted this before, so I'm assuming I just read it (during one of my many trysts online) without blogging about it. I have my moments... don't shoot me!

Anyway, they're saying the ratings for my favorite show are down this season. I find it hard to believe because I think this season is very exciting! I've been on the edge of my seat at each commercial break - although, I was on the edge of my seat during every commercial break the past three years... sooooo, erm... don't know if that's a good argument! I mean I know ratings mean a lot to these networks but we fans are anxiously awaiting every episode. Forget the people who don't watch anymore or at all... the fans, who remain faithful, love the show and we should count for something! You hear that FOX? We matter!!!!

Matt O goes on to say that if the show is cancelled in the middle of the season, the writers are "prepared. The season finale we have in mind could play as a season or series finale." He says that [Prison Break] producers have "absolutely been encouraged by the response" to the fourth season. "It took a while to get the right idea... and to have the audience supporting it is very gratifying."

This sucks if this is a possibility. I have already grasped the concept that this might be the last season. I'm not happy about it but I understand that the show can't run forever BUT there is no way possible that FOX can axe it without giving us 22 episodes! It's bad enough we didn't have a full third season; this would just be a spit in the face!

ETA: We have a poll right now that asks our readers to vote if they like/dislike/etc. the new season. A couple of people voted they don't like it (I think I know who one person is LOL). In light of what Matt Olmstead has said, I'd like to know what you guys don't like about the show! I'm just trying to understand what has turned/is turning people off.

Not again...

For the second time in less than two weeks, it seems as though we'll be dealing with a hurricane. This one's name is "Ike" & while it will NOT make landfall in Louisiana, we are already feeling wind & getting some rain. It is about 295 miles from Baton Rouge & is scheduled to make landfall in southeastern Texas sometime tomorrow.

Lots of people are still without electricity! Power lines are still down & some places have no working traffic lights, which is causing major problems. We are currently still under curfew and all the stores close super early. The gas frenzy has begun again as well. There were lines out on the highway for gas at tons of gas stations all over town - it took me nearly an hour to get gas this evening. The problem isn't so much the hurricane as it is that gas is going up to about (or just above) $5/gallon tomorrow morning! Is that not insane?!?!? So while it's $3.89, I filled up =) Well, I guess it is technically because of the hurricane because oil rigs in the gulf have to shut down, which is driving up prices - not to mention the lack of power during & after the storm... [BIG SIGH ~ boy...]

Seeing as how where I live gets "powered down" at the first sign of a little wind & drizzle, sometime this weekend I will, more than likely, be without AIR & LIGHTS (forget the rest - it's too dadgum hot to be dealing with this nonsense). So I'll be out of pocket again! I'll try to be sure SoHo has all she needs to get posts completed, even if I gotta' do 'em all today! Please pray this is all over before the other half of the tree has a chance to hit the other part of my house & that it's over way before Monday so I can watch Prison Break in real time... I hate watching it online LOL!

Anyhoot, I hope that Texas gets nothing like what we got the other week, but from the looks of the size of this storm, it's going to be bad like Gustav. Let's keep everyone in our prayers! Until next time... be breezy!

Lipstick wearing pigs & pitbulls?

DUDE, THAT'S ^^^^^^^^^^^HILARIOUS!!

I really should be asleep because it's nearly 3am but I've watched the news a lot today (I have no satellite TV right now so I have no chose but to watch regular TV - EWWWW!!!! So the hot topic on the national news is Barak Obama talking about a lipstick wearing pig LOL! I heard him say "You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig!" I also watched the Republican convention last week & I heard/saw Sarah Palin talk about hockey moms, pit bulls & lipstick! I get both comments - probably because I'm a country girl, and I don't see what the hell the fuss is about!

The McCain camp, & people in general, are making it out to be a sexist comment or a cheap shot on the part of Obama simply because Palin is a woman but he did NOT mean it that way. I truly don't see why they are making a big deal out of it because McCain used it several times when referring to Hilary Clinton, so what's the problem NOW???? If it is going to be considered a sexist comment when made by a man, does McCain consider himself exempt from the attack? Other politicians have use the expressions many times (see this article at Time.com), so again, what is the problem?

The expression used is a common one in our society & it is simply that: an expression, an American idiom, if you will! He wasn't taking a shot at her because of what she said or because she's a woman & women shouldn't look at it that way! He was simply saying that McCain/Palin talk about change but they are the same as Bush. Basically he was saying how can there be change if we're dealing with the same genre of government. If they plan to keep doing the same things that the current commander in chief is doing, where's the change? If you have a pig & you put lipstick on it, is it not STILL a pig? Of course it is LOL! He could have said "You can take a pig out of the mud but it's still a pig"! He could have said "You can take caffeine out of a Coke but it's still a Coke" LOL... ok that one as kinda' weak & lame but you get my point... it would mean the same stupid thing!!! I just don't get the big deal... And, playing devil's advocate, if the comment was made as a result of what Sarah Palin said last week, you've gotta' admit, it was kinda' funny - sorry, but it is! And being a woman, I find humor in it because it really is NOT that serious!

Anyway, I find myself digressing, again... I just thought I'd share my thoughts on the issue, giving a little bit of intellect to the blog for a change (I'm a conspiracy theorist - but that's "aWHOLEnother" story LOL)!!! I'm back from the hurricane LOL

Hola!!!! I'm back! Hurricane Gustav was a monster! A tree fell on my house but no one was hurt! Our neighborhood is a complete wreck but everyone is trying to return to normal! It was great the way our neighbors all pitched in to help each other, even if it was just a kind word or a helping hand with the clean up! I feel very blessed after 5 days with no power, sleeping on the mattress in my living room sharing a tiny fan with 4 other people!!! Let me tell you, it wasn't pretty! There were lines to get gas, to buy grocery & to get MRE's! I have way more than 3 parts to this adventure & I'll post those soon, but I needed a break. It was a very hard week & I'm just happy to have power. I can't watch the TV shows I normally watch b/c my satellite is on the ground, smashed, under the tree that's on my house LOL! No, it's not funny but what else can I do, right! Good news is, I finally saw Prison Break epis 1 & 2 from Monday night & they were really good! I will get to see epi 3 this coming Monday so I'm good! Anyway, thanks to everyone who prayed for us(I know you did - I felt them)! Keep praying because there are many people still without power tonight & with another hurricane coming next week, we maybe in for a double dose of tragedy! Peace out & plenty of love from Louisiana!!!!!

ETA: God truly loves me! Wanna' know why? Well, I was flicking through the channels before I go to bed & guess what I see on my local Fox channel? You guessed it!!!!!!!!!!!! Prison Break!!!!!!!!!!!! They are currently showing episode 1, but episode 2 will follow at 11pm!!! I'm so excited BUT because it's on the local channel, I have to have an antenna on my TV to watch it - I don't have one in my bedroom so I'll be sitting up for another hour to watch this on a big screen LOL! I watched it on FOX Demand last night but the PC monitor does not compare to a 42" plasma!!!!!!!!!! Removing that tat sure looks more painful in HD LOL!!! Until tomorrow, ciao!!

So many times people complain about things that have happened in their lives as if no one else in the world goes through crap except them. Whining will get you nowhere! If there is an obstacle you've been faced with, do what you can to make the best out of a bad situation! Don't give up or have a pity party! If you seem to always run into problems or trials in your life, keep pressing forward because as long as you keep going, something good is bound to happen - REMEMBER... it can't get worse!

If someone has hurt you or done something wrong to you, it's hard to live with... TRUST ME! I KNOW! Whatever they did/said/etc. is out of your control. You can't change that but what you can change is how you react. You can take matters into your hands and do the right thing or you can whine about it. If you turn that bad ordeal around and do something positive, then that end result is also on you & believe me, you'll be way more happy with yourself than if you just "wimped out"! This week's quote is special in so many ways because there are so many people who complain about how things are in the world yet none of them do anything about it. People complain about the president & other leaders but they don't vote! They complain about the things in their neighborhood do but they don't try to reach out to the kids to help them out.

Instead of complaining today, try being the change you want to see. Why not offer a hand to that kid who seems to be troubled? Why not get out and vote this November instead of complaining about who our next president is? If you do nothing, then you should have nothing to say! Remember, what you do may not be noticed by everyone, but it could make a difference to the one person who does notice!
