A day out with SoHo

Today is Wednesday and I am off from work so that's cool!! I am about to share with you what I did on Monday. Here's what went on....

Monday was also my day off of work. I decided to go on a quest to find blueberry extract but if you know anything about me, you'd know that the blueberry extract quest was not going to happen because I will just get caught up going to other places and hanging out LOL!!!! Anyway, as I rode in my "royale" also known as my Prius, I decided to postpone the blueberry extract quest and go to Marina Del Rey first and look at the cool yachts.

My camera came along to show all of you who don't live in L.A. the fun and interesting stuff there is out here. I took a few pics and a couple of vids. ENJOY!!!

It was a bit cold this morning so my sister decided to make some tomato soup. Yes, she is adding roasted red bell pepper to the soup.


mmmm Smell those veggies!!! she let her soup simmer on super low heat for a bit. The recipe will be posted in a bit. So stay tuned for that! =)

In honor of Went visiting China this week, I decided to ALMOST have lunch at this place in Marina Del Rey but then I remembered I had a limited amount of time out because I had to go to Cost Plus and then go home to the simmering tomato soup that was left on the stove. LOL!!!


It was such a beautiful restaurant. The entrance is like a Chinese garden. You can hear the fountain running and the birds chirping. It was such an AMAZING little place!!! So if you live in L.A. or will be visiting, you have to come to this place located on Fiji way in Marina Del Rey.

This is downtown Culver City (the art district) did you catch Helms Bakery?? soooo cool!!! LOL!!! Oh and "Surfas" is the Chefs paradise!! I LOVE SURFAS!!!


While on my way to Cost Plus world market, I saw this billboard and thought how interesting it is to see clothing designers use the upcoming American presidential election and some humor to promote their clothes line. ha ha ha VERY CREATIVE!!! I LOVED IT!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha



So I finally get to Cost Plus and I couldn't wait to get inside and see what they have to offer especially for this holiday season!!! Here are a few things I liked!!



This was a cool fake tiny palm tree LOL!!! cute ha ha ha ha LOL!!


I almost walked right into this vase with fake but pretty flowers LOL!!


Look at me and my rich self!! ha ha ha ha ha Yeah right!!! I wish!!! ha ha ha ha ha!! It's really cool chocolate money!!!! YUMMY!!!


Now this, I thought was totally AWESOME!!! they had an entire Mozart chocolate section!!!! It was soooooo wild. I had to get me some ha ha ha ha ha!!!


These are filled chocolates and apparently you get a free Mozart CD with a duration of 79 minutes while you enjoy your chocolate!! ha ha ha ha OOOOh this was soooo bad-ass!!!

My absolute favorite was the Mozart piano bars!!! I love pianos so I I liked these the best!! ha ha ha ha LOVED IT!!!

Here are the holiday drink mixes. Most of them are cocoa with some other flavor added but then we do have the holiday eggnog the gingerbread cocoa But I tell ya, there is NOTHING better than homemade holiday drinks!!! MMM MMM MMM!!!!

Pumpkin ale anyone??? I had honey ale on Sunday and it was REALLY good. I am a little sick, you know, the coughs, stuffed nose, scratchy throat, sneezing... with all this weather change I had to have me some soothing honey ale ha ha ha ha !!! I should try this pumpkin ale though... hmmm.... LOL!!!


This is a holiday drink from Sweden. It was such a cool picture that it is now my desktop background LOL!!! I don't remember what is in this drink but it is very good LOL!!!


As I looked next to the Swedish Glogg, I noticed a Swedish Christmas soda!!!


This is the Nyakers company, they make Swedish gingersnap cookies!!! YUM!!



But wait!!! That's not all!! They also had these gingersnaps cookies!!! They are sooooooo good and apparently (Nyakers) which is the company that has been making these cookies has been using the family top secret recipe for over 50 years!!!

I took a picture of their info just in case you really like their product and would like to give them a call or email them to give some feedback. They usually appriciate that LOL!!!


I forgot what this is but if you can translate, that would be nice. LOL!!


Now we come to the GERMAN CHOCOLATE PART!!! YAY!!! I am a sucker for sweets!!! LOL!! shhhh don't tell ha ha ha ha!!!


Here's an interesting fact about German chocolate cake!!!! I LOVE German chocolate cake!!!! you gotta be crazy not to like it. MMMM...

Here is another picture of Christmas chocolate from Germany!! LOOK!!! It's SANTA CLAUSE!!! LOL!!! Why is Mrs Clause always missing??? LOL!!! I think she deserves some credit too, you know? LOL!!! aw come on guys... I am joking... ha ha ha ha ha!!!


Now THIS caught my eye!! Isnt it cute?? It's a wine bottle cover!!! It a tiny traditional Chinese dress thingy LOL!! I guess. ha ha ha ha. I don't know what the actual real ones are called so if you do, please let me know LOL!!! Anyway I took a picture of it because it reminded me that Went is going to CHINA!!! so I had to snap a picture and share it with you. ha ha ha ha


Last but not least, My FAVORITE PICTURE!!!! As I looked at the Chinese wine cover, I guess I must have backed up too far because I felt something touch me. I turned back to find this guy looking at me!!! I LOVED It so I had to take a picture. ha ha ha ha!!! The joys of a camera!!! ha ha ha ha ha!!! Well I hope you enjoyed hanging out with me. "The Price" spoilers - airs next Monday 10/20

Since my boredum has already begun -no Prison Break tonight =(... how dare baseball interrupt my time with my TV boyfriend while he evades bad guys and fights for his freedom - I went on the hunt for something, anything, new! I found this spoiler so I hope it will tide you over until next week...

It seems that Michael is ready to talk to The General, after going after most of the Scylla card holders. Perhaps he is holding one himself, which would be completely possible. A plan is hatched to create a car accident, where Sucre and Linc will intentionally crash into The General's limo. Waiting in an ambulance (how they got one, I'll never know) is Michael, Bellick, and Sara. With Sara's medical background, she will easily pass for an EMT to The Company bodyguards. Things don't go according to plan, when one member of Michael's group ends up getting shot and it will be up to Sara to save him.

What Sara will soon find out is that Michael has formed a partnership with Gretchen and, as a result, the two women will come face to face for the first time since Panama. Sara has flashbacks to her days of being tortured and we'll find out exactly went down between these two. Don't look for any physical showdowns between Gretchen and Sara. Though I love Sara dearly, she's no match for this Company operative.

Don't ask me how but T-Bag somehow gets out of his holding cell, probably some part of the deal between Gretchen and Michael. Just because he's "free" doesn't mean he's in the clar. T-Bag will have his hands (or hand) full, when he is revisited by the man who demanded that he hand over Scylla in 3 days or pay a serious price. When the man realizes that T-Bag is empty handed, he throws him down onto his desk and puts a gun to his head.

What concerns me the most for his upcoming episode is that Michael is going to lose someone in his group. The title of the episode, "The Price", could mean that he has to pay one for messing with The Company. That means that if someone is in grave danger, the signs point to Lincoln or Sucre, since they are his brother and best friend respectively.

Bite a cup??

Ok since there is no Prison Break news or any Prison Break at all this week, I am gonna introduce you to another favorite band of mine. This band is called "THE CAB". In this video, "THE CAB" is shooting part of their music video and this is a behind the scenes look of the band...if you will... Anyway, these guys are WAY TOO RANDOM and HILARIOUS check out what the guitarist, Cash, has invented... Its sooo funny because he thinks its SOOOO GREAT!!! They say some really random stuff talking about how five year olds would love the cup ha ha ha ha ha check it out. I LOVE THESE GUYS ha ha ha ha ha ENJOY!!!

This morning, on my way to work, I realized that my FAVORITE holiday (Halloween) is closer than I thought!!!

As I drive around Los Angeles, I am seeing more and more pumpkin patches!!!
This morning as I was driving to work I was on 3rd street and Fairfax and guess what I saw?? THAT's RIGHT!!!! A PUMPKIN PATCH!!!!! I was soooooo happy!!!!
I keep my camera in my car so I stopped at the red light and took a picture of it. I've posted the pictures below so ENJOY!!! Next week, I plan to take my niece to the patch and have her choose a few pumpkins to carve for Halloween... anyway here are the pics... Oh, I don't know who or what is "chango" but I'll find out when I go. LOL!!! By the way... remember the dragon fruit I told you about that I bought at the Santa Monica Farmers Market?? well I opened it and it was white with tiny black seeds and VERY sweet and DELICIOUS!!!!Here is a pic of how the inside looked... oh yeah! I also got to work early so I walked over to Starbucks and had me a frapp!! MMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!

Ok, So I went to the Santa Monica Farmers Market and found lots of interesting veggies, including purple bell peppers, dragon fruit and lots more. I took some pictures for all of you to enjoy... nothing special but I do have to admit I am a sucker for farmers markets LOL!!! ENJOY!!!

Let your voice be heard!

It was election weekend in my city this past weekend. I absolutely hate leaving my house for any reason! I am truly lazy; I can't lie! But I had a conversation with a 15 year old the other day & he said that he wouldn't register to vote because he doesn't care whose president because it wouldn't affect him any. I was actually shocked to hear that & asked him why he thought the people who hold these political offices didn't affect him. He couldn't really answer me & so I began to explain the state of our nation to him. I explained that if he didn't exercise his right to vote, then he would be making null the fight people like Martin Luther King, Jr. went through so everyone's voice could be heard. Voting is an expression of speech & your vote, though only one, does count.

After that conversation, I began to check myself. The polls are open from 6am to 8pm so I can be very flexible about when choosing a time to go. I chose to go around 5pm Saturday evening. As I walked in, there was an older lady & a couple walking in as well. After my identification was verified, I walked in the booth, punched in my choices for local politicians and walked out. The whole process took only 5 minutes & it wouldn't taken that long had I not been third in line! I felt empowered because, in voting, I just told my city, my state, my nation, who I wanted to represent me!

The right to vote only gives us the opportunity to show how important we are to our world. Actually going to the polls to vote lets us & everyone else know that we do have a place in this world. Exercise your right to vote! Let your voice be heard! Remember: if you don't vote, you have no right to complain!

Last night on Prison Break: The Recap

Last week on Prison Break, the gang got the fourth piece of Scylla, while betting on some horses. Mahone got arrested by the police, and Michael doing what he does best, put together a plan to break Mahone out. T-Bag found an 8×10 sized closet, that is apparently important, then he got caught as a fraud. Then at the end, he had a run in with Gretchen.

This episode kicked right off with T-Bag tied to a chair. After carving his good arm up with a knife, Gretchen was in the mood to kill him if he didn’t work with her, so obviously he had no choice in the matter. ["...You're messing with the wrong bitch!" Did I mention how much I love Gretchen? She's one bad chica!]

At the warehouse, the boys found out that the next cardholder they are after was at Las Vegas, so that was their next move. Meanwhile Bellick got a quick call from the secretary at Gate, telling him that she knew where T-Bag was. So the plan was Roland, Lincoln, Sucre, and Sara were off to Las Vegas, while Michael, Mahone, and Bellick were off to find T-Bag. Roland took this time to go insane about Las Vegas. YA WOOHOO VEGAS, BABAY YEAAAH! ~ My interpretation of Roland [Something seemed suspcious about the Gate secretary's phone call. They should have been a bit more careful. Oh yeah, Roland is a nutjob LOL! He gets told shut up more & more each episode! I'm thinking someone's gonna' hit him sooner or later & it's either gonna' be Linc or Sucre!]

Meanwhile, the General ordered the hit on Don’s life… [You have to admire a guy that's as meticulous & calculating as Wyatt! Not saying I like him, but there's something intriguing about his cold demeanor! As soon as Padman (the General, as we're calling him these days0 says "make it look like an accident", Wyatt loads the trunk with his "kill him, make it look like an accident then cover it up" material!]

So Michael, Mahone, and Bellick fell right into a trap. T-Bag stopped them all at gunpoint, and ordered them all into a van to go to an undisclosed location. Mahone, being the rebellion that he is, decided that this is where he gets off, taking a death defying jump off the building, landing safely below. [Didn't I say to be careful? Geez! When Bellick called Michael, telling him to come talk to "this chick", they should have known something wasn't right! Leave it to Mahone's intuition to be uneasy about the whole thing, but it was too late. Glad he got away; he just got out of a jam last week!]

Back at Whistler’s place, T-Bag had everyone tied up. He demanded that Michael figure out what the pages of the bird book meant. He gave Michael a ton of pages from the book, and told him to put the puzzle pieces together. First, he had to find the corner pieces. [Typical Scofield: the problem solver... the one who's gotta' figure everything out. He's got a trick up his sleeve for old T!!]

While Michael was doing his thing, he checked his ankle real quick, showing us he still had his tracker tied to his foot. While T-Bag was away, Gretchen grabbed him, and told him about the trackers, and to make sure Michael didn’t know she was in on the whole thing. Meanwhile, Don met up with Mahone. Mahone found out where Michael and Bellick were being held, and he said he’d personally take care of it. [Mahone definitely went to take care of the problem at hand! But by the time he got there, they were already gone - they headed over to the Gate secretary's apartment... I really need to remember this girl's name *making mental note to look her name up* Michael, being the brilliance that he is, left behind an origami bird made out of one of the Bird Book pages. The clue on the page was "GATE";)]

Wyatt was just about to kill Don, when he found his house completely empty, he informed the General, but the General was preoccupied. Don was at his office, waiting to talk to him. Basically, Don told the General that if he winds up dead, there are documents that he sent to several people in the higher ups that if opened will lead straight to the General, so he said back off. [Of course the General didn't take that so kindly. He basically threatened Self but by the time Self finished his ranting, I think the General got the idea! I'm sure he's making other plans to handle Self.]

Michael finished his project, and found out the pages put together don’t make a map, but make a blue print. Maybe to remember the blue print, Michael should tattoo it onto his body. Anyways, it’s a blue print to Gate Corporation. So Michael and T-Bag left for Gate, which seemed very empty when they got there. They went straight for the 8×10 room, ripped open the floor, and opened a hatch. The hatch led to a trap set up by Michael and Mahone, who locked him in a room. Left to get caught by the police. [One of my favorites scenes - it was hilarious listening to T-Bag scream LOL! Michael was very cocky, much to the unsuspecting T's surprise! Being clobbered by Alex & pushed in that tiny room, locked up tight, was not a part of the plan!]

Meanwhile, in Las Vegas:

Lincoln told Dr. Sara about Michael’s nosebleeds. He told her that their mother had the same thing at Michael’s age and that she died of an aneurysm. That doesn’t sound too good for Michael. [Sad, sad... I was very NOT happy to hear this news, especially the part about the brothers' mom having these nosebleeds reoccur then die when she was the same age Michael is now! This further allows the notion of this being the final season to sink in *BIG SIGH*]

So the plan was on. Sara was bait for the cardholder. She told him that one of her goals while in Vegas was to apparently snap a picture in a hotel room. Trying to get him to invite her to his room, but he blew her off. Then the bartender told her that the older man was going around hitting on men. So the gang decided that Sucre would be gay in order to get the card. Sucre was able to get up to the old man’s room pretty easily. There the group was able to get the fifth card, and we then learned that the cardholder just wanted Sucre to sleep with his wife, cause he can’t. So they got the fifth card easily... [I laughed so hard during this scene! Sucre's like "hell nah, dude" - that's my interpretation LOL! I must say he was damn cute in the nice shirt he wore during the casino scene but he was even cuter in the poolside scene =) The look on his face as Scuderi - who, by the way, plays Mike on 24 - moves over to sit next to him while he's undressing is absolutely priceless! The look on his face when he gets up to the old guy's suite is, as well, without value when he realizes it's the wife he's expected to "bang"! I love it... Sucre gets some and they get the 5th card copied! All in all, I'd say it was a good day! Until...]

Roland thought he’d try his luck with the slots. Apparently his magical device can make him win slots too. I gotta get my hands on one of these things. Can I find them on E-bay? Well it wasn’t long before the security guards came by, and confiscated his device, and kicked him out. [Roland does it again, but this time it wasn't his mouth that got him in trouble! I couldn't believe it actually done that crap. Security had already peeped him out when he first walked into the casino. He just couldn't lie low... he had to try his luck! Great - the "magical" steal anything device is gone! Now what?]

So now the team are in big trouble. Without the device, they can’t get the last card. He said he can rebuild it, but that would take months, which they don’t have. My guess? They might have to break into the casino to get the device back. Also, whats going to happen to Michael? I sure hope he turns out okay. [Speaking of Michael...]

...Gretchen gave Michael a call saying hello, and to make sure T-Bag gets out, or he’s not getting the second half of the bird book. [Looks like Gretchen was cautious in not giving Michael the entire book to decipher. With T-Bag under wraps, she had no choice but to show her face to get what she wants.]

Well we’ll just have to wait for the next episode to find out more.
