Translation from Italian GQ Part 1
Ok so here's my translation for the first part of the interview. ENJOY!!
The world's sexiest prisoner
That's how American viewers have defined him, but Wentworth Miller, star of the series Prison Break, smiles at being labeled a sex symbol and "macho". He's interested in acting only.
Wentworth Miller, the Prison Break hunk, from the series that takes place at the maximum security prison of Fox River of which since 2006 has Italian spectators at gasps (Also American spectators from the previous year)is hard-hearted.
"everytime something bad happens to me (on the show) you can bet that I am on the phone calling my mom to warn her practically about every scene, otherwise she'll be worried" Miller confesses.
Meanwhile, Michael Scofield, the main character of the prison break series doesnt seem to be having such a good time. For those who have not watched prison break, the story is this, (AND IT GIVE THE SYPNOSIS OF THE SHOW. I WOULD TRANSLATED BUT YOU ALL KNOW WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT. YOU KNOW, A BROTHER GETTING FRAMED AND THROWN IN PRISON AND THE OTHER BROTHER WHO BUILT THE PRISON TATTOOING THE BLUE PRINTS OF THE PRISON ON HIS ENTIRE TORSO AND SOON CREATE A PLAN FOR ESCAPE. THEN THEY ESCAPE AND MUST DEFEAT THE COMPANY BLAH BLAH BLAH)
(the show) Produced by Paul schuring, for Fox, has turned to Joliet Correctional Center in Chicago Illinois, the same prison in which the first scene of "Blues Brothers" was filmed. Prison break is a spectacular series full of violence ( to his mother's despair) political intrigue, plots, and betrayal In which there is also room for an inevitable love story between Michael and the Prison's doctor, Sarah Tancredi,(In my opinion, we could have done sans this cheesy love story)
to which Wentworth describes as a Sunday morning animated cartoon with it's fingers cut off.
In America where Prison Break has won a People's Choice Award for best television series and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, the public seems to have a crazed desire for the infinite adventures of Michael, Lincoln, and the "Fox river 8" (the two brothers and the other six prisoners who have had to join forces (so to speak) to execute the plan of evasion, has transformed Wentworth Miller into a star.
"The success of prison break depends on the fact that people like to see others succeed at terrible things"the actor explains."it's because of this that television can be so addictive" A surprising response by the hero of an action show which producers of fox initially thought of even giving the face of bruce willis.
Wentworth Miller is an intelligent and ironic man, that after four years of stunts, crowded cells and a hasty escape, seems somewhat tired of playing the hero of an action filled series and overall seems worried about being seen as his character all action and muscles. For example he refuses to repeat once again "I have made a little promise to myself", he explains when asked what it takes to apply the infamous tattoo before every shoot (in which the tattoo would be visible) or what he thinks of the death penalty, one of prison break's main topics.
He's taken by the irony of becoming a sex symbol(the American female audience has elected him as the world's sexiest prisoner) he explains "I've collected all the newspapers and magazines with my pictures on the cover, with the idea to be able to look back when I am eighty, but i cant remember where I put them"
In short,Wentworth does not wish to become hollywood's "macho" "Like Michael, there is only determination to do whatever it takes to reach a goal."
THEN THE ARTICLE GOES ON TO SAY ABOUT HOW HE IS THE SON OF TWO EDUCATORS AND HOW HE WENT TO PRINCETON AND REALLY WANTED TO ACT SO FOUR YEARS LATER HE MOVED OUT TO LOS ANGELES AND TEMPED FOR A SMALL PRODUCTION COMPANY AND HIS SPECIALTY WAS WALKING THE BOSS'S DOG. EVENTUALLY THE SITUATION UNFOLDED AND LED TO AUDITION FOR PRISON BREAK AND GETTING THE ROLE.
This experience has shaped the rest of my entire career. "I wasted a lot of time that I could have used to get a degree in law" Wentworth admits, " but i've learned a lot about the people that control the world of cinema. I know what how they work, what they're thinking and what they're afraid of. Any decision I make now is based on what i learned then". What makes him continue, is his passion for cinema and his patience for the "right time". "Acting is the optimum excuse to do and say inappropriate things" he explained as he laughed. "the movies that i can watch indefinitely are Kill Bill 1 and 2, and This is Spinal Tap". (side note OMG I love kill bill!! uma therman rocks!!! I have both parts!!)
while working at the small company, his boss offered him a job as his assistant. "but i rejected his offer because I wanted to act"

Wentworth in Japanese Magazine, In Red
Thanks to an anonymous email, we have something new! Looks like Wentworth was featured in this Japanese magazine called "In Red". Anon, I tried to email you back to say thanks but the message was undeliverable =( But since you know who you are, kind soul, many thanks for this treat! Because I have no idea what this is saying, I used Google translation then paraphrased so it would make a little sense!

The article starts of talking about Prison break being a number rental in 2007 (I'm assuming they mean in Japan). Wentworth is called clean-cut. Don't know what the rest was saying lol! Didn't make sense & I doubt there was any real news here, so moving on...
Next we read that U.S. drama 'Prison Break's main main character, Michael Scofield, is played by Wentworth Miller who, with his the chiseled good looks, gained stardom in a matter of seconds all over the world because of his charismatic presence. The writer says that since PB has reached its final season & something about a long-awaited first visit to Japan, s/he realized PB's popularity in Japan. S/he calls Went "a pleasant-spoken intellectual". Wentworth recalled his 4 years w/PB.
Went talks about working long hours and having to learn a lot in a short time. He says that b/c of the show's popularity, he got to visit many different countries and as the "face" of PB, it was his great responsibility to do this. He talks about how his father told him (really paraphrasing here, trying to make sense of this) that when there is a race to be won, one should run full speed to the end. He says he's worked with that motto in mind.
Wentworth starts talking about the end of the show & how it's time to stop running & escaping from prison, rather it's time to fight back. He says Michael has come to terms with the wrongs he's done & is prepared to suffer. He has to redeem himself. Then he starts talking about the MiSa thing... I'm not quite sure what this was saying but I think he said he wanted his character to have fun with their relationship at the end.
The next part really makes absolutely NO sense to me - sorry... The question he was asked seems to have been something about women at different stages in their lives: 20 years old, 30, 40. It says he laughed then answered seriously. He says he's 36 now then says something about "his" 20 being different than their 20. Then something about most people come into their own at 30 years old but he has a lot to learn. He starts talking about how people think he should be better in certain situations or that he should be further along in life. He wasn't a star in his 20's, becoming Michael Scofield in his 30's, but he's true to himself. He says he's happy with this b/c he's learned a lot in Hollywood.
I'm sure I botched that all up so don't quote me on this at all! Anybody wanna translate an article in Japanese, please let me know!

Wentcounter from yesterday...
Remember yesterday I posted about the lady that met Went yesterday? Well "A Fan Now" posted more details! Rather than paraphrasing like I did yesterday, it'll be easier to just copy/paste it! Enjoy! OH - This photo is the one she mentions toward the end of this post. Apparently, this girl met Went twice - she was at LAX waiting for him to leave as well as return. This is the return photo - not so sure I could say I would have been at the airport a second time, especially with a camera! Not saying anything bad about the girl, b/c I completely understand the enthusiasm to be next to him ha, but it just seems a bit much to me that in the span of just a few days, she took another pic with him. I would have just brought him flowers & said "welcome home" lol! Perhaps it was his idea, but he doesn't look to "smiley" in this pic... anyhoot, as you can see, he's wearing exactly what "A Fan Now" says he was! I actually could picture him in his cozy grey hoodie!
colina, why is he traveling with a make up artist? Maybe they are travel buddies in addition to being his make up artist then I think.
KirM20, yes that's right, my mouth opened before my head could stop it, and those words "Oh your mother?" just came spilling out. Lmao! Red-head and Went didn't look offended so that's good.
juliaaa, I had a nice but busy flight. I was on a work trip, that's why I spent most of my time working onflight.
Nik77, ask away, I don't mind.
1. He was wearing a white t shirt and black pants when I saw him in the lounge, then mid way of the flight he had on a gray hoodie pull-over when he was sleeping. When i saw him in LAX last he changed his pants to some khakis.
2. He did smile. Melt? I don't know, Lmao! It was a nice smile, nice white teeth (if that's what you mean), lovely smile. His front tooth overlaps the tooth next to it a bit - that was what i noticed, but it's not obvious to others i am sure.
3. His eyes are very light ... blue or green i am not entirely sure. I am leaning more towards green though. Yup, green.
4. I knew who he was, because i watch prison break, but i only know the characters as their character-names, so he's michael schofield to me. I don't know any of their real names, and I didn't want to make a fool of myself and call him "Michael Schofield"! Lmao!
5. Faint? Lmao, why? He looks like a nice guy. I heard him thank the airline stewardess "thank you so very much" one time. But more of that later.
cutiepie32, I was surprised too that he was not in First with me. Sad too. Lmao!
ddslitlm, not China, we were traveling from Hong Kong to LA. Did he smell nice? Lmao, you girls are funny, you're killing me, lol! I didn't smell him, but he didn't smell nasty or else i would've smelled something! He smelled normal, nothing really. Yes, he flashed his beautiful smile, it was a nice smile.
Nothing much happened on the plane. I had to walk through his section to get to mine when boarding, and I noticed him standing up in his seat, so I made a mental note of where he was sitting. We took off and I was busy working (sorry!) and then around 6ish (I'm using Hong Kong time) I thought i'll make a round to see what he was up to. I passed him and he didn't notice me, he was watching the end bit of Slumdog Millionaire ~ the mass dancing at the train station part. Red was reading, she looked and smiled, she sat across from him. So I made a round and walked slowly, and pretended to be visiting someone in Economy (I didn't know anyone on that plane, lmao!), and by the time i passed him again to go to my seat, he was watching Frost-Nixon (my fav movie last year). Red was nodding off I think, lmao!
Then, I went back to work. After I had dinner (around 8) I made another round (this time a quick one) and I saw the stewardess pouring something onto his plate - either it was sauce or parmesan cheese - not sure. I also didn't see what he was eating, but I heard him say to her "thank you so very much"! (I remember thinking, it's their job! Lmao!). Then I worked again, I made my last round about 10 or a little after 10 (maybe 10.10 pm) and Wentworth looked so cute, he had his gray hoodie pull-over on, and was under the blankie pulled up mid way of his chest and he was asleep - at 10.10pm, like a baby. I stopped and looked at him for about 2 seconds, because he really looked cute, lmao! Red was asleep too, but didn't look cute, and one was them was snoring lightly, I think it was her, but don't quote me on that!
I went to sleep too (long after they did), woke up hours later and went to use the bathroom. but I guess everyone else was too because there was a line, so I walked to the biz bathrooms, and i saw him walk out of the bathroom cubicle (only saw him from the back), and he had a small towel and what looked like a toothbrush & toothpaste in his hand and a small bottle (looked like liquid soap or gel). I didn't see him on the plane after that, mostly because I was busy finishing up my work.
And the last time I saw him was after we all disembarked, and went through immigration and checks etc, and I did my duty free shopping etc, I thought he would've been escorted out some hidden secret passageway lmao, but there he was, walking around! (Was a bit surprised to see him still at the airport when we landed ages ago). I think he actually used the Lounge to shower after getting off the plane because he really looked refreshed and clean and scrubbed and he even changed his pants! He didn't look like he had been on a plane for hours! I looked a mess and hid from him and just ran for my car to get away!
And that was the last I saw him. Hope you girls are doing well, I am exhausted, and heading for bed, good night!
Angie0686, sorry nope I didn't take pictures! It would've been weird for me to grab my camera out of my purse and start clicking away at him, Lmao! I don't think he would've liked that, and I would've been embarrassed.
juliaaa, no I didn't ask him about Slumdog. He didn't notice me as I walked by, he was mesmerized by the train-dance-sequence, lmao! Thanks for telling me about China, now it makes sense. (Your friend took a picture with him at LAX? That is what he wore when I saw him last, see how refreshed he looks, lmao!)
Ice_Wine, no he was not fat. He's not a small skinny man either, but he seemed the right weight to me. And no, I am sure he didn't finish all the parmesan and sauce on the plane, lmao, they had plenty for the rest of us! He probably just wanted an extra serving, that's all. Lmao!
Nik77 and ddslitlm, thanks girls.
