Rate of Exchange/Killing Your Number Recaps

During my sick days, I guess I forgot to post these. I know they don't matter now, as a lot of people have now seen The Final Break, but I like to be thorough! Besides, how do I know someone doesn't want to see this? Warning: this is a long post since it contains two full recaps!

EPISODE 421 "Rate of Exchange"
Airdate: 2009-05-15

Michael insists to Mahone that he's going to find a way to save both Lincoln and Sara. Mahone persuades him to go after Linc first. Meanwhile, Christina contemptuously calls Linc "the dumb one" and is sickened that Michael cares for him so much. Michael calls and says he'll give her Scylla; just meet him at a shipping yard in 45 minutes. Elsewhere, General Krantz tells Sara that if she'd just left the infirmary door locked back at Fox River, her father and so many others would still be alive, and now none of it will have been worth it. Michael's sure to return Scylla because his heart always betrays his better judgment. Sara parries that that's true - because if Michael had used his better judgment, he's have killed Krantz the night he stole Scylla. Krantz, enraged, leaves her with T-Bag... who, leering, turns out his pocket and makes Sara fondle it.

At the shipping yard, as Michael prepares a box of homemade explosives, Mahone tries to persuade him to simply give Scylla to Christina in order to save everyone - including Pam, LJ and Sofia. Michael won't countenance any deals. Christina arrives; Linc's in the Range Rover with Downey, cuffed. She demands Scylla and walks towards Michael... but stops short of the tripwire he's set up. Michael tries to goad her into coming closer, she instead she orders her henchman to kill Michael. The henchman trips the wire and is blown to pieces. Christina gets away and holes up in an abandoned office. She tells Linc he won't live long enough to be an uncle. Linc is thrown by this, and Christina realizes that Sara still hasn't told anybody that she's pregnant.

Downey tells Chrisina that Prime Minister Banerjee is calling, wanting to know why he hasn't gotten the Scylla technology yet. Christina tells Linc that Michael's got ten minutes. Meanwhile, Krantz calls Michael. Michael says that every Fed and cop in town is looking for him, and it's impeding his return; if he's caught, Scylla will be locked away as evidence. Krantz gives him an hour, or he'll turn T-Bag loose on Sara. T-Bag gloats to Sara that when this is over, Krantz will employ him. Sara tells him there's no way that'll happen; Krantz will have him killed along with the rest of them... but if he helps her escape and get back to Michael, the slate will be wiped clean. T-Bag says that that slate will never be clean... as if he doesn't come back soon, it'll get a lot dirtier. Michael calls Christina, demanding to talk to Linc. Linc tells him that Sara's pregnant and exhorts him to go after Sara; Linc's willing to die knowing that he did something to pay Michael back. Christina grabs the phone away and hangs it up.

Self wakes up in the hospital, where a pair of FBI agents question him as to Michael and Linc's whereabouts, and begin to torture him when he won't talk; since he's impeding an investigation into an act of terrorism, he has no legal protection. Self finally says he doesn't know where they are, but he can find out. He demands immunity.

In Chicago, Sucre, still spooked by every police car he sees, is tailed by somebody. He is chased into an alleyway, turns to fight, and realizes who his pursuer is... it's C-Note. The two talk in a diner. They're both home and happy with their children. C-Note claims that he was looking for Sucre because the case against Mahone fell apart, so the Feds reneged on his deal and were gonna send him back to Fox River. He needs to know how to get a hold of Michael and Linc. Sucre is suspicious of his motives and nearly leaves, but C-Note insists that he's trying to help. The brothers are in trouble, and will only get out of it if Sucre helps him find them. Sucre doesn't want to risk losing his family again, but C-Note says that with the menial jobs he has to work because he's afraid of being arrested, he's not going to be able to support his family for very long. C-Note's sure the guy who contacted him is a player. He wants to get some device into the right hands by finding Michael and Linc, and then he'll get their records clean. He takes Sucre to meet the man. We don't see his face, but we do see his hands... and he's wearing a ring, a familiar ring with an eagle on it.

As Michael checks the Scylla briefcase, Mahone asks him how they can save Pam as well, but Michael doesn't have a plan. He tells Mahone that if there's anything he needs to do to save Pam, he should just do it. Elsewhere, Christina cruelly taunts Linc, telling him he's stupid and she never cared for him because he's not really her son. She's further enraged when Banerjee leaves the country, no longer trusting that Christina will deliver Scylla. Linc's just cost her three quarters of a billion dollars. She's about to shoot Linc when Mahone calls, offering her Scylla in return for protection for his family, and Linc's release as well. He owes Linc. Meanwhile, Michael calls Krantz, who wants to make the exchange at a parking lot in twenty minutes; Scylla for Sara. As Michael hangs up, we see Mahone put down a newly-purchased duplicate of the Scylla briefcase; Michael doesn't seem to have noticed the switch, and takes the empty case. Krantz leaves with Ralph; he's planning on killing Michael. He leaves Sara behind for T-Bag to do as he pleases.

Mahone meets with Christina. He wants her to make the call to have her people protect Pam before he hands over Scylla, but she insists he hand it over first. Downey tells Pam that a mole in the FBI has reported that two agents are talking to Self, who is getting immunity. Christina thinks he's a threat. Meanwhile, Self calls Michael, but Michael won't talk, and simply says that the whole thing will be over soon before hanging up. The FBI agents are asked by a doctor to leave the room... but it's not a doctor. It's Downey, who drugs Self via his IV and holds him down as he begins to twitch.

Michael leaves the Scylla briefcase at the parking lot. Krantz and Ralph arrive and find that the briefcase is empty. Michael seems to be hiding, and he uncoils a rope. Back at the loft, T-Bag prepares to rape Sara. Sara realizes that one of the bars she's cuffed to is loose, and to buy time, begins taunting T-Bag, telling him that his medical records at Fox River indicate that he's impotent. Just as an enraged T-Bag is finally about to attack, she gets a bar free and swings it at him, but T-Bag quickly overpowers her. Just as he begins to unzip his pants, he's smashed over the head by Michael, who we find wasn't at the parking lot when Krantz got there; he was scaling the loft to enter through he window. Michael's about to smash T-Bag's skull in with the bar, but Sara's terrified cries bring him back to his senses. The two embrace.

Christina takes Scylla from the briefcase Mahone gave her. Mahone again asks her to make the call to protect Pam, but she says she needs to make sure it works first and locks him in the side room with Linc. He tells Linc that he's there to save him. Meanwhile, we see that Michael also seems to have Scylla. In flashback, we again see Michael tell Mahone that if there's anything he needs to do to save Pam, he should just do it. And then we see what happened directly afterwards: Michael finally came up with a plan. Christina prides herself on being able to read Michael's every move... but she won't be able to predict Mahone's actions. He removes Scylla's guts and replaces them with explosives. Michael's still got Scylla's interior. He knew Krantz would never honor the arrangement. Both Scyllas, the ones given to Krantz and to Christina, are actually bombs. Back in the present moment, as Sara and Michael plan to start their lives anew, Mahone drags a weak and groggy Linc to the far side of the side room and asks if he's ready to get out of there. In the next room, Downey finds he isn't getting a connection to Scylla. Christina realizes that Michael has tricked her. And we see the red blinking light of the bomb inside the Scylla case.

EPISODE 422 "Killing Your Number"
Airdate: 2009-05-15
MUSIC: Lay It Down Slow" - Spiritualized

Michael and Sara talk about the ordinary life they're going to lead when this is all over. Mahone calls and says that the bomb meant to take out Christina didn't go off. Michael tells him he'll have to trigger it manually. Christina enters and demands to know why they can't access Scylla. Mahone pretends ignorance. Christina orders Downey to kill him just as Mahone finds the manual switch on the bomb. The beeping of the bomb distracts Downey just long enough for Mahone to overpower him and escape with Linc. Moments later, there is a tremendous blast that knocks Downey and Christina down. Outside, Michael's just arrived with Sara. Sara wants to get Linc to a hospital, but Linc says that'd mean jail. Michael regards a big hole in the building where Christina was, but we see inside that Downey's body shielded Christina from the blast. Her finger begins to twitch.

At the loft, Krantz is about to kill T-Bag for his many failures when a phone rings. It's Sara's; she accidentally left it behind. T-Bag is allowed to answer the phone and finds Sucre on the other end. Sucre asks where Michael and Lincoln are; T-Bag says their mother has them. He's got an idea of where, but he's scared to talk on the phone. They arrange a meeting in the park in an hour. Krantz reluctantly sends T-Bag out with an operative. T-Bag meets with Sucre and points out the operative to him, telling him he's walked into a trap. Sucre, smirking, demands Sara's phone. T-Bag looks up again and sees that the operative is dead. A moment later, C-Note shows himself. They take T-Bag hostage. C-Note reports back to his mysterious employer that he's got Sara's phone; there are a lot of calls to one number. It must be Michael.

Michael decides the best thing to do is destroy Scylla; Krantz will have them killed no matter what they do. Suddenly, Michael's phone rings, and on the other end... is Kellerman. Not dead after all, he was freed by a group trying to bring down the Company, the group founded by Michael's father. He tells Michael to get Scylla to a U.N. attach? at 5pm at the footbridge in Declan Plaza. Michael tells him to stop Krantz from pursuing their families. Kellerman agrees, and says when Scylla is delivered, all their slates will be wiped clean. Michael doesn't know whether to believe him. Kellerman says that Scylla can change the world for the better; he doesn't need to trust Kellerman, he just needs to trust the U.N. Sara says that Linc's out of time; she needs a needle, syringe and chest tube right now. At the loft, Krantz and Ralph realize T-Bag is either captured or dead. They get a ping off of Linc's cell phone; Ralph and another operative head to the location. Elsewhere, Sucre and C-Note interrogate T-Bag. They want Krantz's location. T-Bag won't talk. They string T-Bag upside-down and tell him his eyeballs will burst. He's still not talking, still clinging to the idea of becoming a respected "gentleman" in the Company's employ, but the treatment is getting to him.

At the hospital, the FBI agents interrogating Self check his files and see that Mahone's involved. Self's nearly comatose and his brain is quickly wasting away, but he can move his hand and write... but the only message he'll write is "F.U." Meanwhile, Sara arrives at the hospital with Mahone in tow. She grabs a doctor's lab coat and slips into a supply closet. When a nurse is about to go in, Mahone distracts her by asking questions... and attracts the attention of the one of the FBI agents. In the car, Linc tells Michael if he has to leave him, he should. Michael says not a chance, they're brothers. Linc says that's not what Christina said. Michael says she was just messing with their minds... and even if it's true, it doesn't change anything. Sara emerges from the supply closet to find Mahone being arrested. He nods to her to leave and she hightails it back to the car. Sara gives Linc an injection that will only last for a while. Michael says they have to leave Mahone, but once they deliver Scylla to Kellerman, it'll buy Mahone his immunity. Suddenly, the passenger window explodes and shatters, shot by a Company operative. At the driver-side window is Ralph, who takes them all back to Krantz. Michael claims not to have Scylla. Krantz turns on a TV which shows a live feed of Sofia being held at gunpoint and demands Scylla again. Meanwhile, Mahone is interrogated. He insists that he and the others have been set up, but the FBI aren't listening. They just want the location of Michael and Linc. At the loft, the stalemate is broken by the arrival of Sucre and C-Note; T-Bag must have finally talked. They shoot Ralph and hold Krantz at gunpoint before he even knows what's happening. Michael orders Krantz to have Sofia released, and he does so. Michael's about to kill Krantz. Linc eggs him on, but Sara and Sucre talk him out of it. Krantz is cuffed to the banister and left behind. Michael asks C-Note why he trusts Kellerman; C-Note admits that Kellerman's the only option they've got. As they bundle into the car, police sirens wail. They're nearly trapped, until Sucre uses his own car to cut the police off. He is arrested as Michael, Sara, Linc and C-Note get away.

Christina and her men track Michael down via his cell phone. She shoots C-Note in the legs and nearly walks off with Scylla, but pulls a gun on her. He hesitates to pull the trigger for a moment, but Christina goads him and he fires... but the gun just clicks. Jammed. Christina prepares to shoot him, telling him he was born a Scofield but will die a Burrows. Suddenly, two shots ring out; Sara has shot Christina dead at the moment she fired at Michael. Her shot went wild and struck Michael in the shoulder. Sara takes Linc and C-Note to the hospital while Michael delivers Scylla to Kellerman. As Sucre stays as tight-lipped under FBI interrogation as Mahone was, Michael goes to the rendezvous point... where he is taken hostage at gunpoint. However, it transpires that these are Kellerman's men. He just wanted to make sure Michael wasn't followed. In an office building, Kellerman tries to boot up Scylla for Solomon Okella, the man from the U.N., but it doesn't work. Michael's withholding a piece. He wants proof that the Okella's legitimate. Okella's ready to walk away. Tired and beaten, Michael says he doesn't want to run anymore. He gives up the missing piece, and Scylla boots up. Okella's satisfied. So's Kellerman, who says it's over - Michael did it.

Krantz finally frees himself from the handcuffs, only to be arrested by a team of cops who have just arrived. Not long after, Michael, a healthy Linc who's gotten the treatment he needs, Mahone, Sucre, Sara and C-Note are seated around a table with Kellerman, who presents them all with statements to sign. They all sign and are free at last, and Kellerman confirms that all their loved onces are safe as well, but there's one final piece of business to take care of. T-Bag wants exoneration for his help. Kellerman leaves it up to them. Michael and Linc approach T-Bag, who is being held in the hallway. He begs for mercy and forgiveness. Linc says they took a vote and he's in luck... T-Bag gets a stick of gum for the ride back to prison.

Later, a jubilant Michael and Sara walk along the beach. Michael says he's going to be a hands-on dad. They're both happy. Suddenly, Sara stops short. Michael has a nosebleed. They both pale, knowing what this could mean. Michael insists he's fine. They hold each other tightly.

Four years later. Mahone mails a birthday card to Pam, then kisses and walks off hand in hand with Felicia Lang. In Chicago, a happy Sucre is playing with his little girl and tells her he'll be back in two days, while C-Note, working for UPS, luxuriates in his freedom and normal life. In Central America, Linc and Sofia live happily together. LJ's in school. They hug goodbye and Sofia tells him to get home safe. In a convalescent home in Chicago, a brain-dead Don Self stares out the window and drools. On death row, General Krantz is led to the electric chair. In Washington, Kellerman is now a crusading Congressman, well-loved by the press... but not by Danny Hale's widow, who arrives to spit in his face in front of the press photographers. And in Fox River, T-Bag hears an inmate talk about "the captivity of negativity." He's reading a book about GATE. Saddened at the reminder of the white-collar life he nearly had, he tells the inmate firmly that he never wants to see that book again. The inmates fear him; he's a leader among prisoners once again... and a young boy in his entourage is holding his pocket. And at a street fair in Central America, we see that Sara has a small, pendant-shaped scar on her shoulder in the shape of a snake. She calls to Michael that it's time to go... but the Michael she's speaking to is a child. Her child, Michael Jr. She says it's time to go see Daddy. They arrive at a cemetery, where they meet up with Linc, Sucre and Mahone. Michael Jr. puts flowers on a headstone... while Linc leaves an origami crane. Everyone pays their respects. As they leave, we see the inscription on the headstone:

Episode 4.20 Cowboys and Indians Recap

Michael and Lincoln, trapped in the hotel, make a run for it once spotted by the local police, led by Captain Hutchinson. They are trapped in the kitchen area. Michael calls Mahone and says that Scylla's gone; they need help getting out. Self gets on the line and says they need to get over to the other side of the hotel, to a loading dock where there's only one cop; Self can take him out. Their only hope is to find rooftop access. Michael gives Mahone the address where Sara is holding Christina and tells him to go there and find out where Scylla is. Linc grabs the phone and tells Mahone he doesn't care what he does to Christina; just make her cooperate. Meanwhile, Krantz is frustrated. T-Bag volunteers to go to the hotel and kill the brothers before they can talk to authorities. Krantz is skeptical, but T-Bag says not to underestimate him. Krantz won't go for it; he sends Ralph instead. Back at the hotel, Michael swipes a universal room key card from a maid's cart. They're spotted by Hutchinson, but manage to duck into a stairwell. Hutchinson has the hotel manager override all the locks. Michael and Linc run up to the top floor, the 16th. They can't take the stairs to the roof because it'll trigger the fire alarms and the cops will find them before they can find the laundry vent. They need to get out via the duct work. But the key card won't work. Michael realizes they've been locked out. Can't go up, can't go down. They're trapped.

Christina watches a news report, which says that a wire transfer has been found from Chinese operatives to Michael and Linc. She compliments Downey for his work on the fake Chinese documents. Christina is still sorrowful that Michael's going to take a fall, but Downey says he made his choice. At the hotel, Michael calls Don and tells him he needs to find out the cops' plan of attack. Don approaches Hutchinson, flashing his Homeland Security badge and demanding to know what they're doing. Hutchinson is annoyed, but says they're planning on gassing the brothers out floor by floor; they're using a colorless, odorless gas. Back at the townhouse, Mahone finds and frees the tied-up Sara. They bring each other up to date. Sara wants to go to the hotel and help, but Mahone forbids it. He tells her to run, but she insists on staying put so Michael can find her. Of course, so can Christina, but that's a risk she's willing to take.

Christina meets with Nandu Banerjee, the Indian Prime Minister, and the late Naveen Banerjee's father. He is wrathful, and wants to buy the Scylla technology to wage war with the Chinese as vengeance for his son's death. Christina pretends reluctance, then gives in and agrees to the sale. Meanwhile, Homeland Security agent Darrin Hooks arrives at the hotel and is taken aback to find that he's the second Homeland Security agent arriving on the scene. Don Self, so far as he knows, is dead. Back at the loft, Krantz realizes that Christina is reigniting the 1962 China/India border war. She'll profit from the coming war by offering services to transport troops, get them food and water in harsh conditions, and other military applications of Scylla. Everybody will want to buy the Scylla technology. Mahone enters and wonders why Krantz never did it. Krantz says that a war involving Indian will drag in Pakistan, then Russia, then Europe, then the U.S. It'll be a global apocalypse, and Christina's just too prideful and unstable to accept that.

The gas sweeps have reached the 8th floor. Michael has Linc stuff air conditioner aerosol cans into rolls of toilet paper. Michael works frantically with a shoe horn and a nail clipper from a hotel toiletry kit. Downstairs, Ralph shoots his way past the single guard at the loading dock, while elsewhere, Hooks runs into Self. Self claims his death was faked and that he's working covert ops, but Hooks doesn't buy it. Self at least tries to tell him that the brothers are being set up, but Hooks isn't listening. Self disarms him and they engage in a savage fistfight. A box full of cutlery overturns and Self grabs a knife and kills Hooks. Upstairs, Michael's prised a wire free from a door lock. Self calls; he's at the loding dock and seen the body of the cop, which means somebody else is coming after them. Michael cuts the wire. The hotel manager reports a room breach on the 16th floor. The cops are scrambled upstairs. Linc piles the aerosol-stuffed TP rolls into the mini-fridge, then sprays them down with air freshener. Michael tells him to make sure the door's shut; they need the pressure to build. As the cops can be heard on the stairwell, Michael signals Linc to set the TP on fire and then close the fridge door. The brothers hide as two cops arrive. The cops are blown off their feet when the mini-fridge explodes. Hutchinson runs up the stairs to find his two men running downstairs, saying they were booby-trapped and made a run for the roof. However, Hutchinson senses something isn't right. He runs back down after the two and orders them to stop and take off their masks. It's really Michael and Linc, who stole the cops' uniforms and gas masks. They're caught. Suddenly, Hutchinson is shot dead... by Ralph, who is there to take Michael and Linc back to Krantz.

Krantz says it's time to keep one of his promises. He puts three names in a bowl, then draws one randomly: Self. His wife will die for their failure. This is Self's secret: his beautiful young wife has been a vegetable for years because of Self's drunk driving. Self became embittered that his government medical benefits only just barely kept her alive in a county hospital, and planned to sell Scylla to he and his wife could slip away forever. Self begs for mercy, but, over speaker phone, he hears her being shot dead by a Company agent. Krantz then orders Ralph to kill Self. Self makes a run for it, and jumps off the balcony and into the waters below. He does not resurface. Meanwhile, Christina finishes her dealings with Nandu and tells Downey to contact China. Downey advises against playing both sides of this coin, but Christina insists. Michael realizes that Christina's going to want to confirm her money is safely overseas before leaving town; find the money, they find her; it must be at the local Federal Reserve signatory bank. Indeed, Christina is at the bank, making a $10,000 withdrawal to make sure the account is set up properly and the millions are there. It'll take 30 minutes to do the paperwork. That gives Michael and Linc enough time to arrive and pretend to be bank robbers. They take Scylla from Downey at gunpoint. "Hi mom," deadpans Linc as they leave. Michael and Mahone get away, but Linc is trapped and caught by Christina and Downey, who knock him out and abcut him. Meanwhile, Don, his leg fractured, crawls out of the water at the wharf. Two kids see him. One runs off to call 911; Don weakly begs them not to call anybody before passing out. And at the loft, Krantz says he needs leverage over Michael. T-Bag has checked Mahone's car and gotten the last visited address from his GPS. Krantz sends him there, and T-Bag finds and abducts Sara. Krantz calls Michael and puts Sara on the line for a moment; he tells Michael to bring him Scylla, or this time, Sara's death won't be faked. A moment later, the phone rings again. It's Christina. She shoots Linc and grazes his lung, giving him two hours to live unless he gets medical attention... which he won't get unless Michael brings her Scylla. Michael, anguished, is frozen, faced with an impossible decision.

The Mother Lode Recap

EPISODE 417 "The Mother Lode"
Airdate: 2009-04-17

The Company sends photos to Lincoln, Mahone, T-Bag and Self of people they care about - a threat. General Krantz calls; this is his work, making sure they're properly motivated to retrieve Scylla. Lincoln tells him they're looking into the keys they got from the man they shot. Krantz tells them somebody else is after Scylla - Michael. And the Company will shoot him on sight if he's found. Meanwhile, Michael and Sara, while emerging from a roadside pizza joint, are ambushed by a Company gunman. They barely manage to escape. Back in Miami, Mahone realizes that the keys have computer chips in them; Hold-Secure, the company that makes the keys probably has a database that will help them locate what the keys unlock. He finds that one lock is in Little Havana; T-Bag and Self are dispatched there. The other is down by the water; Mahone and Lincoln will go. Mahone's online probing is noted by Downey, who reports to Christina - Michael and Lincoln's mother - that someone just tried to access Carruth's Hold-Secure account. He also warns Christina that Michael has escaped and is likely heading to Miami. Christina wishes her sons understood what she's trying to do.

Michael and Sara don't have enough money for a car or a plane, so Michael calls Lincoln. Lincoln's upset that Michael escaped and jeopardized their deal with the General; it was their only chance to get their lives back. Michael doesn't believe that, and he'll do anything to stop Lincoln from returning Scylla to the Company... and he stuns Lincoln by telling him that their mother is alive. As a patrol car arrives, Michael and Lincoln hurriedly bribe a Dallas-bound truck driver to carry them in the back of his truck. Meanwhile, Lincoln and Mahone arrive at the Miami mansion near the water - Christina's place. There's nobody there. Lincoln finds a childhood picture of himself with a pregnant Christina. Mahone realizes that Christina probably has Scylla.

In the truck, Michael wonders how his mother could be a Company agent, and watch for years as her children were hunted down. Perhaps she was brainwashed the same way they just tried to brainwash him. Meanwhile, Krantz and cardholder Oren are in a limo in the middle of nowhere. Oren has the limo pull over behind a parked car and says goodbye. Krantz finds he's locked into the car. He struggles to free himself. Oren pushes a button on a detonator, and the limo explodes.

T-Bag and Self arrive at a ramshackle storefront church. T-Bag enters, claiming to be studying Caribbean religions, but the priest won't let him enter the sanctuary, which is where the lock is. Two hulking men bar the way, and T-Bag is ejected from the church. Meanwhile, Mahone's sure Christina left the photo for Lincoln to find; maybe there's a fingerprint on it or some other clue. Lincoln can't remember anything about the day the photo was taken. And so far as he's concerned, she's not his mother. She's just another person standing in the way of his freedom. Back in the truck, Michael muses on how, as a child, his mother seemed to know him better than he knew himself. He wonders if maybe, after twenty-three years, she somehow still does. Suddenly, the truck is pulled over by a plainclothes cop who insists on looking in the back. Michael and Sara hide, but the cop spots signs of them peeking out. He pretends he hasn't seen anything and closes up the back of the truck, then shoots the driver and steals the truck. He calls somebody and says, "I've got them." Michael tries to call Lincoln, but there's no signal. They can't get the back door open to escape, so Michael uses a spreader bar to try to shove a vending machine against the side door.

Christina calls Oren; she's found that the General is still alive; a Company medical chopper took him back to Los Angeles. She has Oren's driver shoot him for his failure. Meanwhile, Lincoln realizes that the car in the picture in a '78 Zephyr, but Michael was born in '76. The picture has been doctored. Perhaps the car's licence plate, MLK441, is a clue. Martin Luther King Blvd. intersects with Route 441 just five miles north of the mansion. As T-Bag and Self arrive, Lincoln insists he'll check out this lead himself. He's hoping his mother's no longer a Company agent. He sends the others back to the church. Meanwhile, Christina voice a hope that she's about to change the world. Downey warns her that their chances of success has dropped substantially in the last day. It's time for contingency plans. Christina insists on going forward; they only need a few more days. Suddenly, the General calls. He's sure Christina ordered him killed and wants to sit down and chat. She claims innocence and tells him not to call again until he has Scylla.

Lincoln arrives at MLK and 441 and finds a plaza with a fancy restaurant, empty of customers. Christina is there to meet him. She says Scylla is "safe" but won't say where it is. Lincoln says they have nothing to talk about, then. She says she's not a monster, and that the Company is a body that bends to the will of the head. If that head - General Krantz - were removed, and replaced with a mother, that'd be different. Lincoln shoots back that she's not a mother. A mother's top priority is her family. Christina says if Lincoln will just give her two days to deal with the General, she can give him and Michael their freedom. Lincoln agrees. However, there's no way for him to get in touch with Christina in the meantime. After she leaves, Lincoln closes his eyes, collapsing for a moment from the emotional strain he's been hiding.

As Mahone, Self and T-Bag stake out the church, Self makes Mahone promise that if Christina has Scylla and the only way to get it back is to kill her, he pulls the trigger. They enter the church, where Self claims to be part of a Homeland Security investigation of the ritual slaughter of chickens. Once again, the priest refuses to let them enter the sanctuary, but Mahone and T-Bag insist while Self leads a hulking guy outside. As they enter the sanctuary, the priest pulls a gun. Mahone and T-Bag overpower him and then unlock the secure door, where they find a cache of automatic weapons and fake IDs. Another associate of the priest gets the drop on them, and they are about to be executed when Self returns and shoots the priest and his man. The other guy ran away; they need to leave now before he returns with help.

Michael and Sara finally escape from the truck. Their abductor pulls over and gives chase, gun drawn, and corners them in a warehouse, but Michael gets the drop on him with a two by four. He takes the man's wallet and finds a scrap of paper with a mysterious code on it. The man, dying, tells him he won't win - and that he wasn't sent by Krantz.

Lincoln, Mahone, T-Bag and Self reunite. Lincoln says they're gonna lay low for a couple of days. The others are incredulous and are sure Christina is lying to him about changing the Company's non-violent ways. He's stunned when presented with the weapons and IDs. The date on the IDs is two days away. Lincoln, conflicted, insists on seeing her again; he's convinced they can talk this out. Mahone tells him that she told him not to come back; that was a warning. However, Lincoln returns to the plaza anyway. A sniper has him in his sights. In Christina's hotel room, Downey tells Christina that Lincoln's more of a threat than they imagined. He found the mansion and the stash at the church. He's not going to stop. They've got a clean shot right now to take Lincoln out. Christina agonizes for a moment... then orders Lincoln killed.

Prison Break - What’s Going On and Why?
Sarcasm provided compliments of Emma

So the last we left our band of merry men and a lady ( with her head fully intact) they were stressing out over the fact that the 1 card they thought they had to steal ( which was done in less then 24 hrs thank you very much) was actually a pizza ( I mean not a pizza but like a pizza, slices, anyway) there 6 cards (insert music of doom).

Michael in a rage of anger we have yet to see goes OFF on Agent Self and for wasting their time if he knew there was more then 1 card ( which he didn’t or maybe he did, who knows) Now Michael screaming and turning shades of a beet tells Agent Self that they did the job asked. Agent Self was hearing none of that and realizing he has his own ass to cover says look its all cards or back to jail ( he loves to just rub that jail thing in everyone’s face). **I must add here that seeing Michael get angry is a nice change from the quiet eye burning he usually does. However something made me giggle when he was yelling. Regardless he looked hot.

Mahone still reeling from the events of last episode where his family appeared to be murdered we come to find its his son ( why why why) Mahone skulks off to call Agent Lang (the agent that seemed to have a crush on him and almost smuggled him drugs in season 3.) He asks her for a favor ( it seemed it was one she could refuse) but he talked her into it. He told Lang that his son was murdered and Linc trying not to eavesdrop hears this. ( for the rest of the episode Linc then is hyper defensive of Mahone which is kinda interesting to see

During the attempt to get the contents of Syclla card #1 the black hole PDA sucks up all of the information from another PDA in the house. When pulling this information off the PDA they find emails and being the genius Michael is he stands there irate trying to figure it out until Mahoney comes in, says something amazing and Michael then cracks the code. (VOILA) It spells out SCYLLA! ( wow that’s a shocker isn’t it) sadly the message means nothing and they cant get the other emails which might contain additional information.

During this entire episode they clearly needed to give Wyatt something to do so he spends the entire time at Bruce Bennets house shooting him up with truth serum. Bruce is doing a mighty fine job not telling him where Michael and Linc were. Wyatt even plans a picnic and makes lemonade and talks about his dead dad. Finally after what is in my opinion a total waste of screen time, Wyatt figure out maybe he doesn’t know where Michael and Linc are… but he knows where Sara is. So Bruce points to LA on the map and then Wyatt shoots him in the head. ** in my opinion this could have been condensed to a 3 minute piece it was painful to sit through it for what seemed like 5 different times. Seriously, this isn’t 24 leave the truth serum to Jack Bauer and just move on

So the gang decide they need to get into a building in Anaheim that houses a huge computer server where emails bounce around. After Linc terrorizes Roland, him and Michael head over to see if they can copy and get the info they need. In order to do this Sara must pretend she is someone else( she’s getting good at this) and swipe a security badge while pretending to be a person for an interview. When the guy at the desk catches on, he stops Sara and Linc radios Michael to tell him Sara’s in trouble ( again) so Michael doing what he does best figures out a way to distract everyone by pulling a fire alarm, allowing Sara to escape and then panic and stress out when his plan goes awry as the room he and Roland were in seals itself and starts sucking Oxygen out of the air ( Oceans 11 much) .. **You would think Michael being an engineer and all would have known once the fire alarm sounded the door would lock from the inside. I guess he was distracted.
So while Roland hyperventilates on the floor Michael calls Linc and tells him he is in trouble but before Michael could say much more, Linc grabs an axe off the fire truck, carries it through a crowd of people (without anyone as much as batting an eye), goes back into a building being evacuated (without anyone as much as batting an eye) and breaks the glass with the axe saving his brother and Roland.

While this storyline is going on T-Bag is investigating his information from Whistlers locker. He calls the company GATE which is listed all over everything and pretends to be Mr. Wright ( who apparently is the top salesmen for GATE and everyone wants to meet him) The secretary who played Lindsay on OC ( and did a piss poor job of it) is the secretary and I have a feeling we will be seeing her again as she appears in future cast credits. T-Bag thinking he has hit gold ( he is supposed to collect some big check) set up a meeting with the CEO ( or something ) for the next morning.

During this process Agent Self is butting heads with his supervisor who is pulling the plug on the project now that there is more information then he though regarding the cards. Agent Self is not pleased and tries to go above his head but he says its over, its done. So…… Agent Self decides to go after the band of merry men and get them back so he can cart them back off to jail. He gets Sucre and Bellick and the Sucre manages to send Michael a 911 message saying Run. ( and well you know that this is what Michael does best) they pile into the car and begin a car chase through the streets. They get out of the car and make a run for it with just enough time to stop and decipher the other 2 messages which were ads ( one for male enhancements or something ) now that they have this information they carjack some poor cab driver for his cab and drive to the meeting place which is at a Power Plant in Newport Beach ( anyone living in LA knows there is no way in hell you can get anywhere in less then 30 minutes let alone drive form LA to Newport Beach) however they make it in about 4 minutes and as Self and his agents close in on them they get out again and run going different ways. Linc is caught, Mahone is caught, Roland is caught, Michael and Sara run and Sara looks at Michael and tells him to Run ( which Michael does best) so Sara is caught. But Michael manages to outrun them all.
Michael finds the meeting place sees the men discussing Scylla. Padman is talking about something which involves a comment about cadavers ( I never understand that guy) Michael sees more people and realizes holy shit its not a meeting with 1 person its a meeting with ALL of them.
He then gets back in the cab and drives to the safe house (again in record time)
As he pulls up everyone ( but Sara who has packed up her stuff and is walking away) is in the van ready to be taken ( yep back to Jail) . Michael tells Agent Self look this photo I got with my cell phone it has all the card members, now we know who they are… all we have to do is get the card. Agent Self looking at this amazing cell phone photos which is so clear ( even though Michael’s angle wasn’t the best he must have had a top of the line cell phone ) he can see who everyone is. This pleases Self who then releases everyone and makes a call to get the program put back on again. He went over his supervisors head who wasn’t very happy, but he didn’t care.

Michael walks over to Sara and she has her arms stretched out. He says one day they will drop her little boat in the water and sail away into the sunset and that it wont always be like this, this room, this place( oh wait that was Season 1) oh well basically he says one day this will be over. ( but will it really?)

Meanwhile Mahone goes to retrieve whatever it was he asked Agent Lang for and goes into a janitors closet to open it. Its horrific crime scene photos of his son. ( did we really need to see this) Linc follows him in and tells him that he knows about his son and he is sorry. Mahone says he is going to get these people. Linc says everyone is here for their own reasons and he needs to focus. Mahone says he can do his job ( although he doesn’t back that up with the look on his face or demeanor)
Linc then say when this is done he will help Mahone find the person who killed his kid and who ordered the hit and take care of them, he promises him that. Then in what can only be describe as something extraordinary Linc reaches his hand out to Mahone who takes it and shakes it. ( without looking him in the eye)

** now I have to admit I cry at a hallmark commercial, I’m just emotional… this had me tearing slightly. Linc never shows emotion and he was HELL BENT on settling with Mahoney when this over for killing his dad. Linc realizes that could have been LJ and he feels and actually hurts for Mahone.

Mahone goes back into the corner to cry and Linc goes out to talk to Michael. Michael asks what’s wrong with Mahone ( he sounds agitated with him) and Linc tells him about them killing his son. Michael has that wind knocked out him look as you know the more people that die the more guilt he takes on and the more blood he has on his hands.

What hi jinks will the band of merry men get into next week. Will Michael ever wear a short sleeve shirt ( If you have ever been to LA you must know its probably about 80 degrees out). Will Linc continue on his quest to change his personality and be a soft caring compassionate guy or he will be bust someone’s ass soon ( he is much hotter when he does that) Will Sara realize she is more screwed up then she can admit and that Michael is ever more screwed up then her? Will Wyatt take acting lessons?
